I've been here twice and both visits were great! I was very nervous to go somewhere new when I moved down the street near this salon. Thankfully both times I've had a wonderful turnout! I don't get any color, just a trim when needed. My first visit was back in January of this year and second today. (: The only thing I was confused about was the surcharge situation. I tried to use a debit card the second time around but was told that the only way to avoid the surcharge was by using cash. I would recommend Mode to double check the legality of this with their credit card processor. From my understanding, not allowing customers to avoid the surcharge through cash or debit is illegal in the state of Nevada. There should also be a notice around the payment area that they are surcharging so that way people are aware before being charged. The first time I went I remember not being told that my credit card would by surcharge so I took a debit card for my second visit and that's when I was told a debit would still be charged the surcharge fee. Other than that, I really recommend this salon. You can tell they take pride in the work they provide to their customers and listen to any and all concerns about your appearance and the outcome of your hair. read more

We were denied service even though we didn't have an appointment. We were told that there was only one person working and that there was another person ahead of us. The stylist kept denying us and she was like I have to go home. So we respectedly walked away. I never felt like that before my life where I was being trashed on because I couldn't get my husband a haircut. Even though we agreed to wait. We were still denied service. The person who did my haircut in November was the same person who denied my husband. To me it's very disrespectful to deny somebody. Especially when we want to give them service and money. After this I will never come back. It is so embarrassing to be denied. I understand it's a holiday weekend people have to go home but my husband's hair just really needed a haircut he didn't need the wash. I hope the manager sees this review and figures out what to do. read more

I moved to the area about four months ago and thought I had found a good nail shop. Unfortunately, due to some issues with their focus on upselling, I had to find a new place. Yesterday, I was feeling pretty bummed out because the original place seemed more interested in selling than in customer care. As I was searching for a new spot for a pedicure, I parked in the Mode Salon parking lot and started browsing Yelp. I looked in my rearview mirror and wondered, "Do they do pedicures here?" From my car, I called the shop, and I was pleasantly surprised by the voicemail message saying to text if there was no answer--clear communication, which I love! I sent a text asking if they offered pedicures, what the pricing was, and when they had an available appointment. I received a quick reply--Sunday at 9 AM with Justine. A 9 AM appointment on a Sunday? Incredible! I was stoked. When I walked in, I was promptly greeted by a very nice lady. Then I met Justine, who introduced herself with a smile. I cannot express enough gratitude--she did an amazing job! The modern technology she used was so impressive. The shop is clean, everyone is pleasant, but Justine is a gem. I had purchased a Groupon for a hair cut, scalp massage and conditioning treatment. I made an appointment and they assigned me Brooke. When I arrived for my appointment, the manager had gone to purchase hair dye that's on sale so Brooke was running around answering phones and helping other customers. There was a little snack and beverage bar by the front desk. It's always nice to have that available. My hair washing was a little disappointing. Especially the scalp "treatment". I always go into a hair salon telling them to do what they want bcs a true stylist will know what hair cut to give me for my face shape. This always freaks ppl out bcs they think it's some kind of test. It's bcs I honestly don't give my hair much thought. Anyways she originally said she'll take over 2 inches off and I was totally fine with that but when she started cutting she only cut like half an inch, just getting rid of the dead ends. There was really no style or shape... The blow drying of my hair was exactly really relaxing and she did a good job with that. After the first wash at home, my hair has become frizzy and puffy at the bottom bcs she didn't layer it a bit and just cut it straight. I'm going to go to LA next month and I'm gonna get my hair recut with a senior stylist specialist and hopefully they can give me a good cut. read more

I had 2 white racing stripes in the front, beautiful gray highlights here and there, and nothing but brown underneath; it was a melting pot of colors. I just moved to the area and I'm looking for a good place to get my haircut. I found this place on groupon, so I purchased the groupon worth $85 and paid $35 plus tip. The $85 worth includes shampoo, scalp massage, conditioner, haircut and style. However, it seems like it's not worth $85. The service is just okay, nothing special. Also, the scalp massage only lasted for less than 5minutes. Shae did a good job on styling my hair with curls after the haircut, but after I washed my hair and straighten it, it doesn't look good as I expected. I actually showed her a photo of a hairstyle that I want. My haircut looks good in curls though, so that's okay. I did a drastic cut and color change so I was there a good three hours and not once was I bored talking to her or stuck in awkward silence (and I'm honestly not a chatty person, but she was so easy to talk to)...probably my favorite thing she did was reach out to me the day prior to our appointment asking for more detail/clarification on what I was going for in the photo I sent to her.
