So, having posted plenty of other positive (and neg) reviews, I have no excuse for not having done this earlier. "When your eyebrows make you look like a professor, it's time for a hair cut" In no small part to the staff here with special thanks to Maria, and Alex before, for their skills, professionalism and warmth over the years. Hands down this one location has served me best. From other GC's to their competitors, from $5 barbers to $50 stylist (tip not included), I really don't need to go anywhere else. Here at Great Clips Nassau Park blvd I consistently get a hair cut that makes me look my best. Of course the true test of a good hair cut is if it still looks good a day or two later. Rushed haircut, nothing like what was requested. Entered with a full head of hair, left with a full BUZZ CUT. One employee was in the front. 5-8 minute haircut made shorter when another customer came in. The stylist saw him and immediately checked out of my haircut. The staff at Great Clips in Princeton are amazing. First and foremost, do yourself a favor and check-in online using the app because this will save you copious amounts of time. I often check-in on the app and go shopping next door at Wal-Mart or Dollar Tree until I know my time is ready to get called next in line for my perfect cut. The stylists listen to all of your needs when you are sitting in their chair. This is crucial because my needs change. My hair cuts are always on par. One of my favorite aspects of this location is the manager, Brittany. She remembers everything about my hair cuts and she is my preferred stylist, but also has a huge following of clients. PARENTS BEWARE! I have never left a review like this, and I hope to never again. I feel bad, because I have never had a bad experience here, and I have had my haircut at this location numerous times. But I brought my 7yo daughter in today, and we are both devastated by what happened. My daughter is shy and quiet, and honestly is super reserved and well behaved in public. While we were both getting our haircuts (across the shop from each other) I noticed a few times in the mirror that it appeared the woman cutting her hair was being a little firm with her when she (the woman) was moving her head around. I thought I was probably just overthinking it, and to my DEEP regret, did not interject. By firm I mean I saw her correct her positioning (head and body) in ways that seemed rough and almost irritated. I really really am ashamed of myself, because I was so ignorant and trusting that I really thought for sure I was just being overprotective. We finish up, and I pay and collect my daughter who was being quiet and reserved (as was normal) in the chair. The last thing I witnessed was the woman after showing me her finished haircut for approval, removing the drape from my daughter, who then started to scoot forward to get off the chair. My daughter is 7, tall, and fully capable of getting off of a chair. This lady reached out and grabbed her arm and pulled her off the chair. I was really surprised, and in my shock tried to tell myself 'maybe she thought she would fall? and wanted to help her?...' in my head. I took my daughters hand and left the shop. Once outside we walked about 10 feet and I asked her if she liked her haircut. She BURST into tears. And I mean SOBBING, full body shaking crying. She told me that the woman was REALLY rough with her, hurting her over and over, and at one point even PULLED HER HAIR. My daughter has had numerous haircuts, with multiple stylists. She has NEVER said anything like this before EVER. She had been looking forward to this haircut for WEEKS because she wanted a short haircut, and was super excited to go. I went back into the shop and walked up to the lady and told her that my daughter said she had pulled her hair, and that I wanted her to be aware that she had been too rough. She told me, and I am SERIOUS, that the reason it hurt was because she had thick hair. When I again told her she needed to be more careful with children, especially shy children, she came back with "I am the one who has to make sure I do not cut their ears" implying that she had to be firm with my daughter. Complete Bull. My daughter does not wiggle or squirm, and EVEN IF SHE DID!!! THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING SO ROUGH AND CAUSING PAIN TO A CHILD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I and my daughter were so upset we literally just hugged and cried together in the car for a bit before leaving. Nothing even close to this has ever happened to any of my 3 children before. I am still in shock, and despite the fact I am sure it was that 1 woman, we will NEVER step foot in that place again. read more

Terrible hair cut. Never going there again. I went on a Sunday noon, it was very crowded, so they wrap you up as soon as possible. They don't care about the quality of haircut, just the quantity. If you are willing to sacrifice your looks for $15 then this is your place. But just be prepared to regret going there. Wish we were allowed to rate -ve stars. This was a lady in late 40's, free hair. She didn't know what she was doing, switched back and forth between scissors and trimmer. She only took 5 mins for the whole haircut, she deserves Guinness for breaking the record because nobody has ever done so quickly in 25 years. I thought she was getting started but she said she is done, I was surprised and I told her on side it looks so uneven, then she tried to do something and it became even more uneven. read more

Janet cut my hair today - Totally messed it up. I asked for a 3 on the sides and back, and not very short for the top. She went 3 all the way to the top. Does not understand what a slope is. Update: Maria was one of the two stylists in my 2018 review. She has been cutting my hair each time now for probably two years and I get consistently great cuts that continue to look good as my hair grows out for the next 6-8 weeks before I return. Use the app to check in and you can see how long it will be before they are ready for you. Once you arrive you will be taken before any of the walk-in clients. read more

I have had a few okay experiences here, but in general I am extremely disappointed by the haircuts. I asked the barber to trlime my bangs and she widened them a half inch on either side. I went in here and asked for them to clean up my undercut which has a VERY simple line pattern in it. They told me it would be about so hour, so I put my name on the list and decided to do the hour wait for what is a 4 minute hair cut. When they finally called me back I showed the lady what I wanted and she proceeded to tell me she wasn't going to do it. Another employe then joined in saying they aren't allowed to do designs and that I needed to go to a barber. Keep in mind I originally got my undercut with a design at a great clips and every touch up since then had been at a great clips. This place Sucks big time, the woman who works in the front desk has a very bad attitude towards customers. I checked in online 75 min earlier and I went 5min before my check in time. My name was not there in the monitor.. When I told her that I put my name online 70 min before, she gave a weird look and said the system won't take up names that you enter after 75 min. What?? Then why the heck you accept check-in, am I a stupid to wait for so much time. Have started going there for almost a year now. It's a nice and clean place and located conveniently in the Nassau Blvd shopping center. I recently discovered that they have an online check-in system and started using it ever since. No more waiting in the queue. I find the people to be professional. I like the fact that they learn about your preferences and save them so next time you visit whoever is attending to you would know what your preferences are and will read out to you. You don't have to explain again and again! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a hassle free service. read more

WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD. I have short hair and usually no one has any trouble trimming it. Plus, I usually never complain if it's a cut I can walk around in public with. Not here. Crooked hairline, uneven fade, patches of longer hair. One friend said it looks like half of a mohawk. I came here to save money and ended up spending twice as much getting it fixed at a salon. I was new to the area and went here due to the price. The first 3 cuts were actually really good then I had a lady that had shaky hands that took forever and kept re-cutting one side more than the other (She was alone and had to answer the phones). I paid and left but when I looked in the mirror I was extremely disappointed so I went to the other Great Clips in Pennington. I asked them what they thought - The 2 girls kind of laughed and said you need a cut its at that point i explained what happened. One of the girls volunteered and did a Fantastic job. My hair was a lot shorter than I wanted but they did it for free and I am very happy. I always go here and get a great cut and service every time.
