She is bawling her eyes out cause she wanted a small trim before spring break ended and went back to school. Never would recommend this shop to anyone. I also was suppose to get a fade. My hair looks chopped. Glad I have buzzers at home to shave it down. I had a very distasteful experience at Great Clips regarding my autistic daughter's haircut. She has a dry scalp and eczema, and her hair is very curly -- which makes it difficult to completely wash out product. The stylist told me my daughter had "pre-lice," because they weren't lice yet?! That was extremely upsetting and embarrassing for her. I tried to explain that what they were seeing was product buildup and dry scalp. To prove it, I even scratched her scalp to show it wasn't lice -- but was told, by the manager on duty "Well, if it doesn't fall out when we shake her hair, then it's lice." That is completely unprofessional and insensitive. I offered to pay for them to wash her hair so they could see for themselves, and they refused. Now my daughter not only does not have lice, but she's also left with half a haircut and feels too embarrassed to go back. This experience was humiliating and showed a complete lack of understanding, compassion, and professionalism -- especially toward a child with special needs. read more

Walked in 2 people waiting in lobby and I asked her how long because the computer says 45 minutes but I don't have time I'll just make an appointment online for another day. No no no she say don't worry just sit down. Took my info and I sat. About 15 minutes later the lobby is now filling up and people are getting called up for cuts. I walk up and ask if I should still be waiting. Woman asks for my info but now can't find me in the computer. She asks me who put you in I tell her she walks over and they have what seems like shady conversation. 1st women walks up and asks my info again like she never met me 20 minutes ago. I say how long you think now? She ask me what the click on the computer says i tell her 55 minutes and she say about 55 minutes then. Now im wondering if im paying the price for something shady or is she just incompetent or on drugs because i feel like im in a twilight zone episode. Honestly, I always bring my daughters here to get their haircuts and the stylists always do an amazing job. We come in with really specific hair requests, grown out side bangs, wolf cut, layered bob with bangs, long layers ......always satisfied with the results. The stylists always check with me to make sure we're satisfied before my girls leave the chair, otherwise I tell them anything that I would like changed, a little shorter, a little less volume, more layers, they are always happy to do it. I took my daughter here to get a haircut and the lady started the cut then soon notified me that she had lice. With a half haircut we left. I did some research and was not convinced this was the case. The very next day I took my daughter to the school nurse to verify and the nurse said there was absolutely no lice. I will never come back to this business again. I don't know what lice looks like and never had encountered it but when the nurse verified that there was nothing I was super relieved. Just because someone who works with hair for a living doesn't mean they know what they are talking about or what they are doing. It's sad that the stylist need to talk crap about people who come in for a clip and end up tipping well only for that person to walk out and have the stylist lean over and tell the other stylist at the register "I wish I had a remote for his mouth. I wish I had something good to say but I don't. My 17-year-old went for a haircut today and told the stylist several times not to cut the top of his hair just clean up the back and sides. The stylist decided that she new better then him what kind of cut he wanted and went ahead and "shaped" the top. Which took off a ton of hair. Now he is extremely upset because she took so much hair off of the top. He asked her 4 times not to cut the top and she said she had been a barber for 18 years and she was just shaping it. Guess what in order to shape it you are cutting it. Plus the back and sides are completely uneven. I want to post pics but he says he would be too embarrassed to have his bad haircut online. I will probably end up having to buzz it all off do to how badly she chopped his hair. He has been growing his hair for over a year and now his beautiful curls are completely destroyed. Shaila was the "stylus", in quotes as this haircut has no style. I asked for the back of my hair to be tapered and not to look like a man's haircut in the back, epic fail as the cut is uneven and not close to what I asked for... This was my mistake for not asking for a mirror to see the back before leaving. The sides were cut unevenly as well. She did not shave the hair from my neck and left it unfinished. If I would have seen the back of my hair I would have let her know my dissatisfaction. I certainly regret tipping her $5.00 and will not make this mistake again. also, I was covered in the cut hair, just a mess! My hair looked much better PRIOR to this horrendous haircut. Not happy with Marlow. I do not cut hair but I personally think I can do better. My daughter's hair looks awful. She rudely told my daughter "I only have boys I don't speak teenage girls" ‍. I "checked in online" at 11:00am and the mobile app showed a 2 hour wait, which was OK because I was running other errands. When I went to the salon at 11:30am to check in at the front desk, I was told the stylist wouldn't be available until 1:30pm. When I checked in again at 1:00pm, I was told that the stylist wouldn't be available until 3:00pm. When I checked in at 1:45pm, I was told that the stylist had "received 2 perm appointments and would not be available the rest of the day". So how is that they don't "accept appointments (even for perms)" and, even though I checked in online well before the perm appointments, my position in line was ignored and I eventually had to leave the salon without any service? Clearly the online check in is a joke and doesn't really do anything to establish a place in line. And it is very clear that even if you do check in online, your place will be dismissed if a higher paying customer comes in. I called their Corporate Office customer service and explained what had happened. I was told they "are very sorry", but at the same time I was told that "there won't be any meaningful changes (like making appointments to preserve your place in line) implemented to prevent this abuse from happening to costumers again in the future". Sooo... let's get smart people, for $2 more Supercuts will let you make same-day online appointments with the stylist of your choice on their mobile app. This customer (and his family) won't be treated like we're expendable anymore! No more disrespect and terrible service for us! We're going where customers are treated with respect and given real service! And the extra $2 is well worth knowing that we will not be treated badly and receive terrible service, but rather we'll be treated with respect like a valued customer. read more

I love getting my hair done here. Although it's a bit of a drive, I prefer coming here over any other salon in the area. Amanda always does my hair and makes me feel important while she's doing it. We have great conversations and laugh a lot. That's always a good thing. She's very talented and extremely professional when I sit in that chair. Haircuts are very reasonable and on occasion there will be a discount offered on your next cut at the bottom of the receipt. Came to this Great Clips for years for my son's hair. Never had a problem until recently, and unfortunately, they lost my business permanently because of it. Basically, I always used the on-line check in, even though I'm just around the corner. Always worked great because it gets my son's name on the list. This past time one of the hairdressers (she has shears tattooed on her forearm - which I am just saying to identify her since I don't know her name. I'm not biased at all against it, I have much more ink than she does)... she skipped right over my son's name and when I asked her why, she said "you have to let us know you are here" Which I have never had to do before (they always just call his name when he gets to the top of the list), PLUS the guy ahead of us was also an online check in without letting them know and they had no problem calling his name. Furthermore, instead of just realizing she skipped me and taking my son next, she gave me a sarcastic "SORRY." At that point I had no time to wait any longer, so I left. I called to complain to the manager, who offered me a comlimentary haircut, but when I took my son to get said comped haircut the next day, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about even though the manager said it would be in the computer. To top it off, the girl who had skipped me was there and was very obviously talking smack and making comments about how I was the one who complained. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. It's a shame because I was always very easy to work with (I let the hair dressers make their best judgements for the top of his hair, I don't demand anything specific) and I always tip 30-50%. Am an Asian lady. When I ask for layered hair cut I should get layered. I walk in to great clips for hair cut. Because my hair is getting long and I wanted to start doing style again. So It was my turn for hair cut I show what I wanted and how long should cut. The lady who gave me hair cut ask and showed it to me how much she's taking out on the back? So I said yes that's fine. So she's start chapping on the top she started chopping too and am like huh! She's didn't say anything because she's telling story about her ex husband and her kids. She's a divorce mom. By the time am done she showed me, I just said that's fine. I just don't want to say any more because I don't want her to ruin more on my hair. I walk out and just pa d gave her tip. But am not satisfied came back and talk to one of the lady who works there and showed her what kind of hair cut I like, and I ask her is my hair cut even looks like what I wanted and she said no. Terrible. Took my daughter there and the older woman cutting it seemed to be struggling. As we are leaving she looks at us an calls us back in. At that time I noticed why. Her hair was completely crooked. This woman is obviously more comfortable with men's cuts. At this time the manager gets involved. She pulls out her hair trimmers. Went to get a haircut and I regret it so much. The older women that cut my hair had no clue what she was doing and seemed more concerned with the conversation from the other stylist. She didn't ask me what I wanted to do, she was just going to start cutting my hair to a zero. When I told her What I wanted she got a little annoyed. Once she was done cutting my hair I looked and told her i didn't like it. It was very uneven and patchy, I had her fix it and while she was fixing it she started making comments about how I don't have hair and what not and started laughing at her own jokes about my thinning hair. All I wanted was a haircut but instead I got made fun of for my thin hair and to top it off a shitty cut. This place is terrible the staff are unprofessional and rude!!! I'm doing two stars simply because one of my two kids did get a great cut by Tara. She did my sons and it looks great and she was really good with him. However my daughter got a haircut from Dawn. It looks terrible. You can see every cut, nothing is blended. They offered to fix it if we came back (my husband was the one that took them so I saw it when they got home). I will not take any of my kids back there. They do great with boys and men's, Tara really did do a great job but they are not good with girls styles. read more

You lost a family of customers today because we don't like to be treated like plagued cattle. We had our reservation set and we showed up on time. Then we were told we had to wait outside IN THE HEAT.. we live in AZ. The employee then tells us that we need masks to get haircuts. I tell her my son can't breathe in a mask... to which she replies that it's required. So, I canceled my reservation and we walked across the parking lot to another barbershop. They welcomed us with open arms, treated us very kindly, no masks, they let us waiting INSIDE, and there was no tension or stress. Great and talented technician who really knows hair and has a following, so make sure to ask for her when you arrive. I called, asked if my hairdresser was available. The front desk girl said yes. I said OK I can come right now, is that OK? I can be there in five or 10 minutes, is that OK? She said yes, come in. Within about 10 minutes I was there checking in. Then she says oh no, you have to register online. I said "you didn't tell me that !". She said "oh ". Then she text me in, and then says, oh your hairdresser might or might not be able to squeeze you in today. So then I tell her like you didn't tell me this and you didn't do your job. I said, can you find out if the hairdresser has time to squeeze me in today or not? She kept talking in circles that may no sense, and I can't asking her to ask the hairdresser for the status. I just want to do yes or no answer, rather than sitting there waiting for 45 minutes for no reason. Finally she asked the hairdresser, I know she had no time to do my hair as she had another client besides the one in her chair and one of the clients wasn't even in the computer! So this front desk would've been happy to have me waste an hour of my life for no good reason not even get a haircut! I guess this is what you get when you go to a place that has cheap haircut and probably minimum wage front desk high school students who have absolutely no clue.but this is really a management/owner problem. I don't see any manager teaching anybody anything. I don't see anybody training anyone. I really doubt that I will ever come back to this place even though I thought Alexa did a good job. read more
