They were checked in but not on the board. A mess Anywhooooo a few went before me and I know they're regulars based on the conversations with the "fan lady". So I left and went back to the EW Conn location. It's a different vibe over there. The "salt & peppa" hair lady is always nice & patient. She will cut your hair just as you ask for it........ I usually go to the Smyrna Market Village location but decided to go here due to wait times. The hair stylist "Liz" rushed through the cut and had me in and out of the chair in 5-6 minutes. It was like she was trying to break a record. Decided to not even make a comment about it as the vibe was off. There wasn't even anyone waiting and she could have taken her time to do a better job. Clean, Fast, Efficient. I was in and out in 15 mins. I was also happy that they did exactly what I asked with my hair.

AVOID THIS LOCATION!... Tina cut my hair, and to be fair, it was an ok cut but she rushed through it, angrily. She was obviously pissed off at someone or something. But that's not the bad part.... when checking out, she thought that I had not left her a tip (when in fact I had) and she began reading me the riot act for "not tipping your stylist". She realized her mistake and tried to back pedal but the damage was done. I immediately sent an email to Great Clips corporate who forwarded it on to the local owner/manger of the location. She called me the next day but, NOT TO MAKE IT RIGHT. Oh no, that would be the right thing to do ....No, she did exactly what they teach you NOT to do in business school, she began playing the he said/she said game. Telling me she had spoken to Tina and Tina denied being rude and dismissive to me or giving me crap about not leaving a tip! The owner then told me that there are plenty other Great Clips in the area that I could go to! Unbelievable. Customer service is dead in America! She obviously has a relationship with Tina. The conversation should have gone like this ..."Mr Chase, I am sorry you had a bad experience in my store. Please let me make it right. Come back in and enjoy $5 off your next haircut"... she obviously has not ran a business before. You cannot afford to LOSE customers in this economy. She has not only lost 4 (me and my family) but she is going to lose many more after I tell my story to everyone in Smyrna!(and I meet a LOT of people in my job) I'll stand outside the store and hand out competitor coupons if it means stopping them from treating people like this. I will never go to a great clips location again after this. There are many other quality choices. She pissed off the wrong consumer this time. She could have salvaged it but chose not to. Went to this place to get my ends clipped and had used this place in the past but for whatever reason the price of the same cut almost was tripled.I paid $8 in the past to be charged this time $20 and the lady acted like she was mad at me for not tipping extra. It thought she was taking a tip out of that $20. Mind you I wasn't even there 5 mins and the cut was so basic.... I'm all for supporting community business but don't let your workers rip us off!! I've been going to Tina for years when she was in the Kennesaw location and now I have followed her to the South Cobb location. She is very professional and precise in what you want. Absolute crap experience! I signed up online and had a 39 minute wait, which dropped to 18 minutes after about 5 minutes, then when up to 27 minutes after about 10 minutes, where it remained for about 40 minutes before it kicked me out! I tried a second time and the 23 minute wait ended up being AN HOUR!! I don't know about you, but my time is worth more than me waiting almost TWO HOURS for a NON-Appointment!! STAY AWAY!! read more

Despite their tagline, I've never had a "you look great" experience at any Great Clips. This one was better than the last location where I was kicked out (one of my better reviews, by the way - check it out!). My hair was getting super long and I was over it. Like, over it dot com. A few days earlier I received a Valpak coupon in the mail and I drove over at 10 AM on Sunday. I could have saved another dollar by checking in online. Regardless, $9.99 is totally appropriate for a men's haircut that's done almost exclusively using clippers. Head shaved. Done. read more

Michelle has been working there for years. She's a Yankee but she does okay. Actually, she's from Michigan and we have a few things in common. She does a great job, asks all the right questions, pays attention to your responses, is timely and does exactly the right thing. She'll make recommendations and is confident in her abilities. She's brought some friends to work with her and they're great, too. The way I like it is to have my hair cut first, then a nice long, hot shampoo. I don't like the blow dryer so she really goes to work with a towel. Then she combs it into place and I'm out the door. Great lady, great place and all for a fraction of what it costs at one of those pretentious yuppie joints. read more

This is my approximately 6th time visiting this location. It is near my home so very convenient. This is my 3rd time leaving really irritated so I won't be going back. I've had bad human interaction with 2 of the stylists there - they make you feel really rushed and stupid if you can't communicate to them in 5 seconds what you are looking for. I thought that problem was solved when they put notes on my account for me and my 2 sons...well we all three went in for a cut and they didn't have notes for my oldest son - and they got irritated really fast when I tried to have a dialogue about what we wanted on his hair. Also - a side note, it is completely obvious that the girls cutting hair here HATE their job as they all wear their emotions on their sleeves. I am most likely at the very high end of the tipping that they would receive - and they still treat me like dirt. All I expect is an occasional friendly comment, one of two sentences of friendly words, and not to be molested when I slow them down. I can't seem to get any of this here so I did take the time to leave this bad review in hopes that I can help someone else. Honestly I would not mind paying much more for a haircut in exchange for better service. You cannot give me a low enough price to accomodate rudeness. read more

Very rude behavior by the stylist 'Danyell'. I have been going here for a couple of years and never had a complain until this afternoon. I had checked in online and reached at 5:20 pm, they were supposed to close at 6:00 pm and there were a bunch of people in the salon waiting for their turns. I was first on the list of people checked in online so I was called immediately as I reached but I noticed my stylist was visibly frustrated with the number of people in the salon still there while they were near their closing time. She was extremely rude in her behavior, did not listen to my requests and just rushed thru the proceedings, her main aim was to finish my hair cut in less than 2-3 minutes so she can attend to others, close the store and rush home. ASK FOR TINA!! I had not had a hair cut in 4 months due to new job and family demands. Cut my own bangs a month ago so I can see. Went to Great Clips and got the most fantastic haircut by Tina. She is patient and skilled. She doesn't judge you, and asks you what you want, and she gives you what you imagine your best haircut might be. I came in with really long hair (waist length) and asked for long, subtle layers, and a slight face frame, meaning strands of hair angled around my face. The lady told me I needed 4-5 inches chopped off, which I said no to, but she proceeded to chop off anyway. She then chopped off 6-8 inches of my hair in the front. I've been so sad because I've been growing my hair out for 4 years. This isn't what I asked for at all. I'll continue to go to SuperCuts from now on and will never make the mistake of trying a new place again. They actually listen to what you want done with your hair. Gave one star because that's the lowest I could make it. :-( read more

I have been going to this location for 3 years every 3 weeks, and bringing my now 4 year old son (and sometimes 6 year old daughter) in tow. The girls that work here are awesome. I have been a patron of Great Clips at E-W connector Publix shopping center (S. Cobb Drive) for the last four years, with currently 7 yo b-g twins, and a 9 yo daughter (I am the father). Today I took my 7 yo boy in for a trim. I was "greeted" by one of the stylists who seemed to be very much put off by the fact that I had not checked in. BTW, I always check in before arrival when there are more than one child + myself., but did not take the time to check in for just 1 patron. The stylist called me to the chair right away and stated there was something in his hair. I looked really close, and with help we finally located a small tangle with some miniscule unidentified substance there. I easily combed it out. It was not even possible to identify due to the small size of the material. Then I was told that there were "dark patches" on his scalp. I looked closely, noting that his scalp appeared pristine in it's cleanliness, and I then asked where the patches were observed. I could not see anything at all, so I put on my reading glasses and looked very, very closely at his scalp. I then saw minute specs of dirt, that were almost invisible. There were no "patches". I realize now that the stylist saw a dirty hippy dad and his shaggy-haired son, (yes, I have long hair, but I happen to be an experienced senior electrical engineer with a successful career for 35 years, and maintain good hygiene for myself and my progeny). The stylist then informed me that my child has lice in his hair (I was told to use lice-poison soap to wash his hair). I will not be returning with my wife and three children to this establishment. I just wanted to report that as a staunch supporter of diversity and fair treatment of all peoples under the just rule of law since the 1960'ds till today, this is the first time I have been aware of being subjected to racist treatment because I was perceived as a dirty white hippie. I will be returning to my local Mableton establishment for hair trims. They are a racially diverse establishment that I have always appreciated. read more
