I went to the Great Clips at Pioneer Parkway, Springfield after reading good reviews online. I requested Michelle and she did a wonderful job. I wanted my long hair cut for Wigs For Kids, then wanted layers reestablished. She was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, conversed with me, and helped me get the cut I wanted. She checked in often to see if I wanted her to make adjustments. I recommend Michelle and Great Clips if you are looking for a good haircut and great staff. read more

The first time I went, I had a great stylist who met my expectations well. The next time, I arrived just after she went home for the day. I decided to try another stylist and was very disappointed. Never, ever go to a guy at Great Clips. the ladies are so nice, but the guys will butcher your hair. They don't read the notes, they try to make humiliating comments, and do just what they want to do, so you have to come back to get it fixed. They cut it too short, and try to "chop" your hair instead of using nice scissors,, and then try to shave your neck as they got it too short. I am done with this salon, anyway, because they go through managers and employees like water; the first sign that it is a miserable place. Lots of ageism here, too from the guys. I have seen the ladies go out of their way, but whatever sad management they have over these places needs to have more training for the employees as there are liability issues waiting to happen. I am broken out all the way down my neck because of this encounter. The anti-customer vibe here is palpable. I really think that these walk-in places need to go. Very sketchy. People like me just need to go overpay for a trim at other places or look like a scraggly Oregonian. Great Clip at Pioneer is the best. Tylan was wonderful. I have very thin hair (am an older woman). As soon as I sat in the chair, I knew I was in good hands! I received a great cut (with no comments on my thin hair...yes, I have received them from other salons.) Like: I have had this hair all my life, I know all the tricks and products...spare me. Tylan said when we were done, " I left the back a little longer so you can cover!" How wonderful, I usually have to tell people. I have in the past, come away with a god awful short cuts that didn't allow me coverage of thinning areas! Tylan was absolutely THE BEST. Thank you! read more

I never finished writing this review but I went to this Great Clips in April for a haircut before the Eugene Marathon. Honestly one of the most enjoyable haircut experiences of my life. For starters, GreatClips was SLAMMED. Very long wait times, employees doing the best they could to balance both the present work and their queue of waiting clients. I checked in ahead of time, did some shopping at Safeway to pass the time, and showed up with a brief wait inside. Skylar cut my hair and while she did a great job at that (without much instruction from myself to go off of; i've never been very good at that), the real prize to this experience was the conversation. She was warm, welcoming, and chatty in a way that kept me engaged but never made me feel like I was being dragged into conversation. We talked about everything from my impending marathon to video games to crochet, and she always interjected with comments and questions about the cut itself so I never felt like she was distracted. I'm very happy with my experience there and Skylar, thank you so much for making my day. read more

Yes,it could have been better.But last time,I just went to "Cost Cutters"off River Road,Fred Meyer's Plaza,and THAT bad,boy-short hair cut-(NOT the cut I asked for,)cost me $27. /w the senior discount, THAT was not worth it either.Since these guys are $6. I have not felt the need to complain or give a bad review but on Wednesday I went in for a haircut and I knew right off I did not have a provider that knew anything about cutting hair. Got my haircut today. The wait was ok. I checked in online. Waited about 10 minutes. My stylist was Kimberly. The only thing she said to me was. "Do you know what you want?" I said yes. "Well tell me!" Very abruptly without waiting more than a second for me to respond. Went at it with the clippers like I was a barn yard animal being sheared. Very impersonal. Barely said anything. I felt like she was super annoyed with me or her job. The cut was fine. The attitude was bad. The other ladies in there were chatty with there clients. Making them feel at ease. I don't know if I would go back there. Maybe if I knew I could get someone else. Or maybe it was just a bad day for her. read more

What a joke! They were SO blatantly rude. Here's my entire Facebook post from yesterday! To the brown haired 30 something chick at "Great clips" in Springfield; I hope you get fired. I sat down and she was automatically perturbed. She had a rude tone of voice. Paid ZERO attention to the reference hair cut pictures I wanted. She looked at my split ends in disgust; put the cape around my neck on the tightest setting and got pissed when I waited a moment to tell her it was too tight; she started combing my hair like I had flames on top of my head and she was trying to put them out. And after that she KNOCKS MY GLASSES almost completely off my face. Doesn't apologize. So I take off my glasses. She takes them out of my hand without my permission and tells me "yeah these need to go". After that she SPRAYED ME IN THE EYE with leave in conditioner. Does NOT apologize. Then I instinctively jumped because of that and then she makes me out to be the problem and says "What are you tender headed? CLEARLY this isn't gonna work between us; the vibes are so off." Take a seat because you'll never get any more business out of me. So instead of doing what the other girls suggested and waiting for someone else to cut my hair; I walked out as I cannot give them my business. Im so done with this place it's ridiculous. I used to go to the Great clips off of W.11th before there was a mishap with the guy who was doing my hair. He was awesome and cut it perfect every time. Well since he quit....I haven't had a good hair cut yet... Since this place is across I-5 from me, I thought hell I'll just try the one in Springtucky...When I first started going there a lady by the name of Jane did a great job....Type of lady that made you sit there and wait while she did you hair correctly. Not the kind that throws a guard on her clippers, makes a few snips and calls it good. With the high turn over rate at this place, you're never too sure who's gonna be there. The few ladies who are in there now are NOT doing a good job at all. If you can get the owner to do it, you'll be Ok.....But anyone else you're screwed. I get a Number 1 on the sides with finger length up top. There seems to be a problem with them being able to fade it all together....they never can. OR!!! They leave the bangs all jacked up on the end so when you get home you can fix it yourself. IM NOT EVEN KIDDING since September...every time I've gone, I have came home and had to fix up my bangs cause they're uneven. The last time we went, I was getting frustrated and kept on the lady till it was to the point that I COULD fix it. Unfortunately she butchered my boys hair. My boy gets the same exact cut as I do. I didn't inspect his very well (nice one dad) and when we got home MOM FLIPPED. The lady about gave him a bald spot on the side of this head...She didn't bring the fade up hardly at all....and everything was completely uneven. Bottom line is this place has such a high turnover rate, you can't rely on anyone...and if you find someone, they're only gonna be there for a couple months max. Took my two year old son in for a haircut, he is great at sitting still in the chair. He had previously had his haircut there and had a great experience so I took him back. This time was a completely different experience and we will not be going back. A middle aged man cut gave him his haircut. He cut his bangs way shorter than I asked for and they were not even level. The area above his ears was not rounded and his sideburns were not cut period. The man said, "Your done." He did not ask if it looked good or anything--we were done because he said so. My son not only got a haircut, the hairdresser cut both of his ear with the buzzer that will supposedly not cut you. I told him he had cut his ear and he completely ignored me and cut his ears repeatedly. My son was in tears at this point. By the time we got out to the car four spots on his ear were oozing blood. I went in to get a trim to maintain my $60 short asymmetrical cut. I was specific as to where I wanted short and to leave the overall feel of what I had. What I ended up with was a blended, feathered, layered mess. It looks nothing like what I asked. The hair dresser was just greedy and quick to chop up my hair. I took my 18 month old son here for a haircut. It was not his first cut and he is a pretty good kid. We walked in with the hopes of getting right in. After a 10 minute wait we got to see Tayler, she was amazing with my little man and did a great job on his cut. He doesn't like clippers so she was totally understanding and scissor cut it. She tried the clippers for his neck and ears and he wasn't too bothered by it. He and I both left please, the price was the icing on the cake. I have spent upwards of $40 on his hair in the past and Tayler nailed it for $13! We will be returning to see her. read more
