Don't be fooled by the immediate surroundings! This campgrounds has TONS of shade and is so inviting for a multi-day stay. The landscaping is so lush and green. Tons for the kids to do. We decided not to make it a quick stop here and spend a couple days. Mid-day is super fun and easy to relax if you need a break from your road trip. Free pancakes don't hurt either! The camping cabins are private and separated by greenery. The grounds have multiple park areas for the kids activities.

First impressions can be deceiving. Our previous KOA stop was in West Glacier (see our review) and it was outstanding - beautiful, mountain setting, immaculate landscaping, spacious campground, etc. So, as we drove into Great Falls KOA - off the highway, next to the Walmart - we were feeling a bit let down as we drove into what seemed like a cramped, run-down campground. Again, first impressions can be deceiving. As we settled in, we began to see the many positives this campground provides: + Sites are a bit cramped, but they offer full hook up options. Each site also has a picnic table and fire pit - they even have 3 pieces of fire wood on the fire pit for you. And free firewood!!! Great!!! Because, what's camping without a campfire?!?!?! Our previous campsite was under a fire restriction, so we couldn't use the fire pit. The campsite before that, there was no fire pit. The one before that charged $6.95 for a 3 piece bundle. + Upon arrival, a staff member leads/directs you to your site. + Mini water park (with fountains and slides). + Two hot tubs (for all ages which made our girls happy since our previous two campgrounds had adult-only hot tubs). + Playground (with swings, climbing rope, horse shoe pit, etc.) + Gift shop (with a play area for kids). + Large/clean showers (great for families with young children). + Trike rentals. + Live music. + Friendly and helpful staff.

This campground is perfect. Yes it's expensive ($83/night) but so worth your money!! You can get a weekly rate (around $32/night) or monthly rate that's about $500/month. They have live music on the weekends, great showers and bathrooms, a park, and a water park that gives the local water park a run for its money. They also have a petting zoo, a nature walk, and outside kitchen. They have free firewood, too!! If you want to just come for the water park its $15 per person but the place stays open until 10pm and will keep your kids busy all day. The landscaping inside the park is great. Small shrubs between the sites gives us plenty of privacy but this place does get quite crowded. New owners, Brandi and her husband, are super nice. They bought the park in February and keep the place immaculate. I highly recommend!

Dry weed patch.

I would give no stars if that were possible. $73 for a weed patch with no trees. The ground is so dry it has deep cracks. It appears they put all there effort into the interior sites and based on the positive reviews that is where they were placed. We were directed through the lush green space past a row of tall trees into this dry weedpatch they call RV sites. Yes they have crushed gravel roads and driveways delineated with railroad ties, yes they have power pedestals, water and sewer hook up. Yes each site has a table and fire pit...right in the middle of the very dry weed patch. Nothing of which makes you want to spend time outside. While hooking up utilities we plugged into the available cable connector only to get no channels on the TV. I called the office to ask about it, the young girl that answered said she wasn't sure if there was cable, "no one had ever asked before". I asked if she could check with someone that would know, she put me on hold (forget) for almost 10 minutes when someone else came on and basically said "I don't think we have cable". Argh! How can you not know basic info about your park? I then asked how much laundry was since the young gal that showed us to our sight said "like $5". The gal on the phone didn't seem sure when she said "I think it's $2.75. Save your money, you'd be better off staying in the Walmart parking lot just next door.

Breakfast from the KOA Camp Kitchen. $5 for the pancake platter, coffee is included.

They had extended hours in the summer time which was really helpful and the entire staff was so pleasant! We travel a lot for work and the fact that you are not on top of each other was so nice. The other option in Great Falls is the KOA, and honestly, do not even bother. They tried to quote us an outrageous amount for the summer time. My kids enjoyed playing in the grass just fine without "the reputation and amenities of the KOA". HIGHLY recommend this RV park. If we are ever back in Great Falls this will be our first choice! P.S. their water pressure is high so just make sure you run it for awhile before connecting it and make sure you have a good water pressure gauge!

Lots! Grass was dried up and brown. Almost non-existent. No picnic table at our site. When I…read morereported this to office they said to look around for an empty site nearby and just haul one over to your campsite. WHAT? I said they need to have the picnic tables At the site as promised and she made excuses about how many had been in disrepair. I said they needed to buy more to replace. Next up a trip to the enclosed dog area which was about 1/4 Mile down the road. Upon our arrival we found the gate zip tied and padlocked. Not a happy camper at this point. Reported to the office and she said she didn't know it was closed. THAT'S HER JOB!!!!! I should have taken it as a warning when I booked the reservation and selected a site then was told it would cost $5 to guarantee the spot I picked. This place flat doesn't care!

So, we did some research and decided it would be fun to go to the Montana Dinosaur Center near Choteau and do a tour/dig. After a bit of research, we found this campground was close enough, and from what we could tell, looked like it would be fine for an overnight. We arrived mid-day, and the very kind woman in the office checked us in and then drove us to our site. From the distinctive shape of the building, I would guess this used to be a KOA. Upon arrival to the site, I will admit, this is the strangest layout of a campground I've ever seen. The sites are lined up in a row, so you have to pull in very oddly and cut between other campers when you want to leave. The lady explained that this was designed in the 60's and it is odd. Once you get settled, it's fine, but at first I thought we'd get trapped with the way they are lined up. This is the only reason I gave this place 4 stars versus 5. Anyway, we only stayed one night, but found the campground to be exactly what we needed for our quick stay. The bathrooms were extremely clean, the setting to walk our pup around at night was nice, and it was quiet, even though it sits next to a main highway. If I needed an overnight in this area again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Friendly & Welcoming staff. LOVED it…read more Very clean bathrooms, showers, GREAT water pressure!! Laundry was fair priced and a very clean space. Kamp K9 had two large open pens, little side trails, sidewalks, and quiet neighborhoods to walk dogs and go for a morning run. Even has the entertainment area with horseshoes, giant chess/checkers, hangout area with shade. Feels like it was once upon a time an average RV park that they're bringing lots of KOA love to. Would stay again. Gas station, Ace Hardware, coffee & pizza shop just down the road. Location was easy to get to on the outskirts of town, but also close to Helena city attractions.

Yes campsites are a little close together but you're most likely going to be out and about anyway. The gathering area is really nice with a gas fire pit, enclosed sand area - perfect for little John Deere tractor excavators of the world, canopy covered dining table, horse shoes, corn hole and other family games. Like morning walks? You will walk for miles. Great street side walking trails that go for what looks like miles into the hills or jump across the street to walk the canal through meandering through crop fields. Bathrooms are clean, laundry area clean. You can walk to a stellar convenience store, grab a pizza at a new little plaza, or get your morning latte as you head out for a walk. Camp hosts are serious about being the hosts with the mosts.
