They got us in right away, sewed up the lid, and gave us some antibiotics to apply over the next few weeks. It was so bad, we were cautioned that he may need to have the eye removed... But after two weeks and having stitches removed, his eye was already starting to heal nicely. Now, just a couple months later, the cloudiness in his eye is going away, his eyeball is intact, and I think he may even be starting to see out of it again. Village Vet was friendly, competent and more reasonably priced than any other vet we've ever used. I recommend them highly to anyone who asks me. The entire eye procedure, along with the meds and vaccinations was only about $250- a complete shock for me after previous price tags for just a regular checkup. A+!! Thank you for being a veterinary clinic who cares about the animals and not just making a buck!! We completely switched vets right away after this wonderful experience.

I was delighted when he told me about "their" Alton Veterinary Clinic! Dr. Scire and her staff, from front desk to all the Technicians, were always kind to me which I appreciated because I was going through some very significant health challenges and associated financial changes as well, and I really needed to have a "happy" experience for myself and my dog, Garrison! His needs were: vaccinations, heartworm check, dentistry, and an aggressively growing lump removed. The first visit covered vaccinations, heartworm, fecal and urinalysis. The second visit included his preop bloodwork. The third visit was for the dentistry and surgery performed under one anesthesia, and the fourth visit was for suture removal (included in the fee for the surgery). The charges were as expected and came in UNDER the high end of the range that was quoted. Thankfully, the growth cytology came back benign for cancer! I will always be able to recommend Alton Veterinary Clinic because they were willing to work with the "Scotties Rock Foundation", my source for the funding of Garrison's needs while I was going through cancer screening for myself. I forgot to mention that I am also a Hemorrhagic Stroke survivor as well, dealing with a left side deficit of strength, and they were very accommodating of my medical handicap and personal needs. They also are one of a very limited number of Animal Hospitals in the Lakes Region that still offer a Senior Citizen discount! She said she couldn't find that quote and that dental work is expensive. I asked to speak to the practice manager or the individual in charge of the quotes and was told the manager was on vacation until Monday and the one in charge of quotes would just go over it with me. While searching for a place that could at least provide vaccinations, I came across this clinic by chance. We were able to walk in and were seen right away, which was a welcome surprise. The veterinarian and staff were wonderful--kind, attentive, and clearly focused on both the pets and their owners. I especially appreciated their patient-centered approach, as they performed all aspects of the visit in the room with me rather than taking my pets to the back.
