Our dog was actually kicked out of daycare today after a few years of attending K9Kaos for daycare. My dog was a fit at one point but with age/trauma/behavior is no longer a fit. This is EXACTLY why you should trust these amazing people with your puppy/dog. They care about the health, safety and experience of these dogs and are willing to have the tough conversations with owners/dogs who aren't a fit for group play. Your dog will have a great experience here surrounded by other good-for-group-play dogs and monitored by actual dog behaviorists who are experts in appropriate socialization and play. When our dog was a fit he would come home soaked in dirt and mud and sleep for 48 hrs straight - definitely worth every penny. The customer service and empathy we experienced from the K9Kaos team is unlike anything I've experienced from a company. I want to shout out specifically, Bec, the Daycare Manager, who has met us with nothing but support, recommendations and kindness before the ultimate decision today that our boy was no longer a fit. Wow, first experience with K9 kaos and so far I am favorably impressed. They have a good reputation locally, but I have learned to take those recommendations with a grain of skepticism. I just got my dog back from grooming here with Deb, and she looks and smells wonderful. My dog is a rare breed, an Alaskan Klee Kai, but the staff in general knew about the quirks of the breed, and how to handle their delicate flower temperaments and grooming requirements. The staff are pleasant, and professional and know more than some vets I've encountered about my dogs breed. Pricing was quite reasonable - $ 20 less than the last groomer charged, and my dog looks and smells better, her troublesome pantaloons and funky double coat are smooth and even, her nails are better groomed, and she is less stressed than I've seen her after previous grooming sessions. Well done, K9 Kaos, we will be back to check out your other services. PS Nobody gets 5 stars from me on a first experience. So stay tuned. Update, 5 stars. I boarded my girl here over last weekend for the first time, and I had asked for her nails to be done. Not a full groom while she needed it, because I'm cheap sometimes. I stopped by K9 Kaos yesterday to meet the staff and tour the facilities for a future stay of my 2 mini dachshunds. The clerk asked if she could help me. I asked if they board pets (which I knew they did). The clerk said yes they do. I told her I stopped by for a tour. The clerk said they are not offering tours now. She did not follow that up with "you might stop by later today" or "if you'd like to make an appointment for a tour in the future, we can go that". Nothing else was offered so I proceeded to tell the clerk that I couldn't board the dogs here without a tour. The clerk said nothing so I left. Ver disappointing. read more

About 6 months ago after taking my schnauzer to Petco for years, she got seriously injured due to negligence and they cut her ear badly. After that- she wouldn't go near a groomer without biting them- it was horrible. And she's so sweet but she was terrified. Anyways, I looked into K9 Kaos and even went to look at their facility. It's so nice, the people there really know what they're doing and so I took my pet there to get groomed, nervously. They did a GREAT job. She wasn't scared, they took breaks with her if they felt she was getting nervous, they were patient and didn't just rush through- I was amazed. I will always go here from now on I 100% trust them. I can not say enough great things about this place. We first used K9 Kaos for kennel services when we went away on vacation for a long weekend. Being first time dog owners, we were nervous about leaving our puppy for a few nights (he was 7 months old at the time). The staff were so reassuring and kind and told me I could call whenever I wanted to. I was also allowed to tour the facility before he stayed there so I could see the size of the crate he'd be staying in and the condition of the facility itself. In the kennel, they keep the puppies separate from the older dogs & they never interact together unsupervised. He was taken out for potty and exercise multiple times per day and when we picked him up, he was so glad to see us. The rates for boarding are really reasonable, too - $25/night and the last day is free if you pick up before noon. After a successful time boarding him, we decided to enroll him in puppy behavior classes and those were fabulous as well. They hire an outside private dog trainer that teaches one class a week for 6 weeks. They offer beginner classes for puppies and more advanced training as well for older dogs. Our dog loved the socialization piece - it was great to see him interact with other dogs off his leash. And finally, we just recently had him groomed here after an unsuccessful experience at a more corporate-type pet store (one too many shaves very close to his skin and displaying total fear at walking in told the whole story). We were blown away by the groomer at K9 Kaos and will be coming back here every time now. They followed our exact specifications for his haircut, cleaned his ears, trimmed his nails really well, and made him look quite handsome! I also loved the personal touch of a Christmas scarf to complete his look. Well done, K9 Kaos. We will be coming back to you again and again - our dog and us both think you are fantastic. read more

I've been boarding my dog here for over a year. I've never really had any problems until recently. In July after boarding there she contracted kennel cough. I didn't make a big deal out of it. But I boarded her there for Christmas. When I picked her up she smelled like urine. And once again, she has kennel cough! I contacted them and they just pretty much blew me off! Our dog is pretty anxious and stubborn around new people, so bringing him to K9 Kaos we weren't sure he would be able to be groomed. OUTSTANDING!!!! I have a black, King Charles Cavalier/cocker spaniel mix (long hair) named Bernard. We are fairly new to the area and have been coming to k9 for about a year. They have always done a great job grooming him but this last time they went above and beyond! He was cut, washed and looked SO great! The best thing about this place is that he is excited to go in. A lot of times animals will be afraid. He must be treated like a king because he is always happy when we get there. A few months ago we had boarded Bernard there and they gave us a report card as to how he was. Excellent place and I would have no problem recommending them to anyone! They do a good job grooming my shih tzus and are very nice. Their daycare seems to be very popular as well.

This place is excellent and they have everything. I enrolled one of my dogs in a training class here with Sue Carny - It was an excellent facility and the training was fantastic! More than meets the eye - They carry a TON of pet foods, at least $1-2 cheaper then what you'd pay if you ordered online or what you'd pay at a chain store. They sell leashes, collars, etc etc... Turns out there is a large grooming section, a downstairs where training takes place, a fenced in area, etc. Everyone I've met that works here is really great! Pick a local business rather than a big chain! read more

I have been sending my dog to K9 Kaos for many years and as you read the reviews some people love it and some people have negative reviews. I have generally been happy with the service BUT what you really should know about K9 Kaos is the following: K9 Kaos often has Kennel Cough running through their environment. They will even post on their website that it is running rampant through the dogs attending. Kennel Cough goes unseen for about a week, so dogs are being infected by dogs that don't even know they are spreading it. My dog has gotten Kennel Cough from K9 Kaos and sometimes the outbreak is avoided -- it just all depends on the strand and their exposure to it.. I liken the vaccine to the flu shot -- it doesn't mean you WON'T get the flu -- but it reduces your odds! If your dog has ever gotten kennel cough then you know it's a terrible hacking cough that can be terribly uncomfortable to hear, dogs can cough until they throw up, they cannot exert themselves or be exposed to other dogs. (go out on youtube, watch a video -- it's not exaggerating). It's even more painful for a dog owner to watch your dog be in such discomfort. Let alone, the vet bills--for the record, I would pay any amount of money for my dog, don't get me wrong -- but I'd rather see K9 Kaos take some better action regarding these outbreaks. Currently K9 Kaos does not require the kennel cough vaccination of dogs as the owner feels that it does not guarantee your dog won't get kennel cough. They are right it doesn't guarantee your dog won't get it BUT it helps keep the outbreaks down. Many kennels/daycares require the vaccine twice a year and find it helps reduce outbreaks down to zero. If each of the dogs going to K9 Kaos had the bordatella vaccine 1-2 times a year, they would be helping to reduce the odds of the spread of Kennel Cough to other dogs. If your dog has gotten it, you would feel the same way -- and the fact that your dog will be exposed to it if they continue at K9 Kaos -- you probably feel the same way! I'd ask the owner to reconsider her rules on Kennel Cough for the health of the dogs. read more

We've boarded our two dogs here a few times. The staff is friendly, the facility is beautiful and very clean; it doesn't smell one bit, you would have no idea tons of dogs walk through on a daily basis! It has a nice retail space with interesting products and the value for all services is really great. Initially we were frustrated when we couldn't tour the facility, but when we asked, the owner scheduled a time convenient for us, but not at a peak boarding time, to come visit. They really want to ensure the dogs staying with them have as little stress as possible and parading people through on tours wouldn't make for a stress-free environment. When we got our tour we were shown an area that didn't have dogs boarding at the time, and we appreciated the concern for putting the dogs wellbeing first. Our dogs have always come home happy and clean with their own little report cards about how they did while we were away. What really impressed us however was this last stay with K9 Kaos. Our dog Oliver had a medical emergency late at night. The staff on duty called Anne; the owner and she came in immediately to assess the situation. She called us and gave calm details and recommended an action plan. Based on her assessment we asked that Oliver be checked on in an hour and if things hadn't improved, we would rely on her judgment to take him for medical attention. This was at 10:30 at night. An hour later, Anne called again and advised that Oliver should be taken to the ER Vet in Portsmouth. She told us she would call once he had been seen and would let us know whether he would be staying over night at the ER or if they would release him to her care. We agreed that even if we were asleep she would leave a message for us. True to her word, she left a message at 1 AM! the next morning detailing what had happened at the ER Vet, telling us that Oliver had been a very good patient and that he was back in in her care and was heading to K9 Kaos to rest. We were a several hours away but felt better driving down the next morning and checking on Oliver before continuing with the rest of our vacation. Although Anne wasn't there- she had been up into the wee hours of the morning for goodness sake!- her staff was well informed. They knew what had happened both before, during the vet visit and after and were able to fill us in. Oliver was his happy go-lucky self, it was great to see it with our own eyes. At the end of the week we picked up two happy and healthy dogs. If you're a dog person, you know that they're your babies. Anne and her staff are the best possible people to leave your babies with whenever you head off on a trip. We will continue to ue every service K9 Kaos offers and would recommend them anytime we have the chance. Thank you K9 Kaos! read more

The staff has always been helpful ,such as researching a brand of dog food that I give my dogs that they don't carry.,and willing to order it for me.
