I contacted two independent agents and one brand-name insurance company. I was shocked at the price range for the same coverage. Jason Brofford at Detweiller-Brofford Insurance checked with different companies to get us the best deal, and the insurance he found for us was $1000 cheaper. We accepted pretty quickly! Every year when it's time to renew, Jason again looks around to find us the lowest price for coverage. This year, our policies are with Erie Insurance, top-rated for homeowners Insurance in the August 2017 issue of Consumer Reports magazine. In addition to saving us money big time, we've been happy with Detweiller's customer service. Emails are answered promptly and a human being picks up the phone. Several issues I wanted to address, she took great notes, and within a few days, might of even been one day, she got back to me. She didn't miss a single thing. She covered everything and saved me a bunch of money. No she didn't raise any of my deductibles either! One example my house, is now insured for a lot more as it should have been, and my separate buildings now have the proper coverage. Second example I couldn't get over the fact that my wife's car was so much more then my diesel truck to insure, with my old company they just said it was , what it was, and I inquired several times, she got that straightened out. Third example, commercial policy, needed several things addressed, and she nailed it all! Listen if your not sure of your policies, or haven't changed or updated them in years, you owe it to yourself to look into it, price is one thing, but having the proper coverage when you need it is just as important. One other thing to note, is they took care of canceling all my old policies, one thing I really didn't want to hassle with, everything went smooth in the transition .Highly recommend!

So I know this is not the agent's fault but State Farm owes me $114 for a refund of unused renters…read moreinsurance that I've been dealing with since early April and I have yet to get it. The process they use to notify customers of refunds is via email and they sent the email to my spam I did not know I was getting an email I missed it and now here I am 8 weeks later still no money three stop payments three reissues still no money. The billing department refuses to overnight me the payment because this whole thing is their fault the agent missed Teresa Bush could just write me a check for $114 and get this done with but she doesn't want to do that because she claims that policy dictates they can't do that. Well customer service and the essence of continued good business practices should dictate the fact that she should do that just to get this out of their office and then if I ever get the check I just sign it over to her. At this point I would stay away from State Farm because if they can't even pay $114 refund to a former customer how are they going to pay a claim for a customer that might be significantly bigger than this. I just need my money I'm going to tenuous position here it's not that much and I can't get it I've had two guys from the office working on it. But the billing department isn't doing what they should be doing either this is beyond extreme right now and Beyond in up and Beyond incompetence that they cannot get me a check simply by just putting it in an overnight envelope overnight. I'm basically probably just going to shut down the whole thing and just bombard State Farm for their lousy customer service until such Point as somebody from their corporate office responds and reads this and maybe they can actually help me and act like they give a damn and be the company if they claim to be acting like a good neighbor. Was there a down payment? No it will just be its monthly amount added to your draft, so when I see the insurance draft was almost $500 I stead of $196 I disputed it and started emailing Anthony ask what is going on, I'm out of the office I'll call you tomorrow, 3 days later I'm reaching out again he calls says aww well you added 2 new vehicles ? No I did not I added 1 my daughter and (HER) car could not be added, I'll I'll updated that and get it to you, 100 emails later he send my updated policy cancellation is what he sent me for non payment , so I was supposed to give them $500 wait on Anthony to do his job and what do the credit my account? I think not I told him I disputed it and needed the correct amount to pay it. Aww let me not forget this past July they drafted me an extra $600 I immediately reach out to Anthony he said aw that's your down payment and I emailed before hand, which he did not. Down payment???? I paid that last year well to renew your policy you have to pay again. I am going to take him to small claims court because the fat that I paid 2 down payments on top of monthly , I know have to go pay another down payment to start a new policy, seems t me I'm paying for his mistakes , I think not. He have day after day to fix this and blew me off . Worst customer service I've ever had. I'll attach emails if it lets me. He just emailed and said I need to pay $444 to keep my policy and $383 a month ? My insurance was $196 a month I added a vehicle for $66 more a month but now I have to pay $383 a month and another down payment, even after I was told I don't have to.
