The space in size was great! The separate entrance for vendors was ideal. The kitchen had everything a cater would need to prep for your event even though it's no cooking on site. The owner LaDonna and husband Gerald were awesome! They made sure that everything flowed smoothly for me. The hospitality they offered was beyond being just business owners; my experience was very personable. LaDonna made suggestions throughout my planning process and I absolutely loved the ideas! The breeze and the water made it very comfortable even on the decks enjoying the sun. We boarded at the Jefferson Beach Marina in St. Claire Shores. The Ovation yacht is three levels of accommodations for 300 people. The event was perfect with a DJ on the top level with an open bar. The second level was the food, lounge areas, photo booth and open bar. The third level was the live band and more food. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the waterways and views of the boats plus the shorelines of both countries. A trip down the Detroit River is such a pretty sight. All really nice. There are smaller serving bars on the second and third floors. Depending on age, annual membership is 600 or 1200 dollars. It looked great. Waitstaff was very courteous and when I went up to the bar to get a Diet Coke, they asked how everything was tasting, etc., even though I wasn't the hostess of the party; nice customer service. My engaged friend said that they originally looked at Royal Park as a wedding venue, but unfortunately the conservatory wasn't large enough for their number of guests - I'm glad they had their engagement dinner there, so I got to experience it. There were about 30 guests there last night but the space looked like it could fit more, I would guess 40-50 total, easily, and possibly even more.
