This is my second time going on the Pub Cruiser and while we had a good time, it's not something I'll probably do again. With some friends from out of town visiting, they wanted to try and do something a bit more unique and this fit the bill. There were 9 of us total, I think we could fit up to 13-14? We were told to arrive at 6 for a 630 start but our tour guide did not show up until a little after 630 and seemed a bit disgruntled that we were all waiting on a super hot day. We were even told that they switched guides last minute to handle our reservation even though we were there with ample amounts of time. I'm not really sure why that was relevant to share with us but it was uncomfortable and made us feel like no one wanted to take our group. We also didn't get to choose our stops (I guess they said we didn't choose on time?? Though it's not like they had reservations for us, so I'm not sure why that mattered if we could have chosen the day before) but still had a great time! I think they should provide a bit more guidance with picking seats and how to work through but I really do think that we just had someone who was rushing through and it felt a bit awkward. I can't say that I'd opt to do this again in the future but glad I had the experience. read more

Andy was fantastic and we all had a great time. We had a small group of 9 people so we all had to pick seats with peddles and couldn't use the bench, but it was fun/challenging. Andy kept the vibe going and made sure we all had a safe and fun afternoon. Since our group was smaller, we didn't have a bartender on the cruiser with us, so Andy would help get drinks after each stop. Andy always walked us in and made sure the bar knew we were there and made sure his company called ahead, which was great. They have tons of rules but it all makes sense, just don't be an idiot. read more

This was such a fun experience! We had a group of 18 people so we were on 3 different smaller bikes called HopCycles. I was very impressed with the customer service and how helpful they were throughout the booking process. The only change I would've made would be to have more time on the bikes and less time at each bar stop. The drivers were very nice and interactive, and my group had a blast! I have been on two cruises with different groups of friends. So much fun! This is an awesome activity for a birthday, holiday, or bachelor/bachelorette party in Downtown Grand Rapids. The first cruise I went on was a 3 hour tour and we were able to pick the bars that we stopped at. We chose our favorites in GR: Z's, The Woods, and Peppinos. I had so much fun this afternoon! The second cruise was a 2 hour Monday cruise and we weren't able to pick our stops. It wasn't quite as much fun as it was shorter and I didn't really like the chosen stops of Big E's and Fratelli's. It was an evening activity and we saw a beautiful sunset on the blue bridge. Both times we had a great group, and made party playlists for the ride. It's nice that they let you choose the music! We were jammin'! The drivers were so fun and nice during both experiences. They let you bring any canned beverages, and the provided cooler had plenty of space for all of our white claws and brews! I would only criticize the intake forms- it's a bit of a hassle and they require all sorts of seemingly unnecessary information during the registration process. There's got to be a simpler way of doing this. Have fun, be safe, and cruise on! read more

Terrible customer service. The gal in charge was incredibly rude and brief when getting in touch with us. She was clearly frustrated and was unable to professionally contain her frustrations. We had family drive about 2 hours from different parts of Michigan to partake in this family outing and were then told anyone under 18 is not allowed. No where on the website did it state an age restriction and the gal was unable to find it either. She refused to give us a full refund but offered to give us "a hundred bucks." She even then admitted "you know what, I can't find it (the age restriction) but I'll give you 200 bucks." She still adamantly refused a refund because "it's not her fault." The waiver forms did not pick up on the electronically entered birth date and you have to pay ahead of time. She said she checks the age when you show ID, only after paying. When we said the underage birthdate was on the forms, she said "well I don't check out the forms." What is the point of the waivers? She is completely neglecting the safety of patrons riding on the bike. She was keen on having a 16 year old uber himself to he market and was unable to understand the concept that the outing is the bike ride and not just going to the market. She also did not understand how uncomfortable we felt with having a 16 year old uber in Grand Rapids unaccompanied. Highly recommend against using this service. read more

"Seriously?!" Is what people exclaim every time you suggest that you all rent out a pub on wheels for a bar crawl. "Omg that was the best" is what the exclaim after its done. The pub cruiser is a one of a kind type of afternoon or evening entertainment in Grand Rapids (they have in other cities too). It is a bar on wheels that only moves if everyone peddles their butts off. During longer stretches it is actually hard work, but thankfully after a couple drinks your body forgets it's tired. Laurie the navigator is awesome and has music, a microphone for karaoke, and awesome things to get the party started and moving. We have done the pub cruiser 3-4 times in the last couple years for bachelor parties, work events, and just for fun. No matter which bars she takes you too it's a blast. You have 20-30 inside each bar , so basically enough time for a shot and a beer. If you think you are getting hungry call ahead from the first place to the second to order food otherwise you may not have time. Even if it's cold it's still a blast!! It snowed on our trip and it made the whole trip that much more fun. read more

The bike was tons of fun and we really enjoyed our driver Sarah. Unfortunately the owner of the business decided to take it upon herself to tell every bar that we showed up at that my 25 year old boyfriend was underage. We were hassled at The Holiday Bar and they even took him outside where he proceeded to show various different forms of identification. She was awful about it, didn't even give him a chance to show his identification and just assumed he was under 21. We were able to remedy the situation at the first bar just to show up at the second bar and be told that he cannot be served because he is underage. I understand liability factors but the way the owner went about the situation was so incredibly unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this buisness to anyone because it put a damper on what was supposed to be a great birthday celebration. I'm begging you to find literally any other company to give your money to read more

Would definetly do this again! We had a group of 8 for a bachelorette party and this was the perfect way to get around GR. It was during Art Prize so it was pretty busy, and the pedestrians loved us. Laurie, our driver, was phenomenal! She was funny and laidback and really made the experience. We did get bad service at one bar, which was no fault of GR Pub Cruiser, but she gave us another quick stop on our way home to make up for it. Lady in charge is rude and unrealistic. We booked a trip to celebrate a friend's birthday in the springtime and are very disappointed with the way it was handled. During the week of the reserved date, a high-profile public case was unraveling involving the GRPD. The news was suggesting that people stay out of the downtown area due to expected riots and MSP arriving. Because of this, we reached out to Great Lakes Pub Cruiser and wanted to cancel or reschedule. The lady in charge basically laughed at our decision and said that she "knows it will be safe enough," yet we all felt uncomfortable spending the time and money for the unknown experience. She did give us a chance to reschedule (a $60 fee) and only for a Fall date since "all of summer is booked" though summer dates were available to book on the website. We ultimately decided to take a loss and experience other deserving businesses in the GR area. read more

This place is a joke. Please do not waste your money. It's over priced for what you get, which is nothing but a work out and some water. They have 20 rules which we were fine with but then my brother got charged $300 b/c someone in our party puked on the side walk in front of their establishment which was no where in the 20 rules they had, not to even mention that it was cleaned up by other parties in our group. When we called back to ask them about this charge they said they puked on private property and thus the charge. Once again. This was never mentioned in the rules, not to even mention that a side walk is not their property. They even changed the initial rule of being fined if you throw up on the ride to "on or off the ride" when they sent the email for the extra charge. In my opinion that is a slimy business practice & this is getting disputed with the credit card company. The whole experience before this was mediocre at best. The extra charge aside I would never recommend this to anyone & will never recommend this to anyone. read more

This is the perfect interactive way to experience downtown Grand Rapids. We rented the Great Lakes Pub Cruiser for my sister's bachelorette party, and it was great. With a mixture of guests consisting of family and friends, not everyone knew each other. After working together to pedal the bike up and down the streets, everyone was laughing and talking like they'd known each other forever. Getting on and off the bike at multiple stops provides an easy way for people to sit next to someone new and get to know them. While the bike holds 15, there are only 10 doing the work of pedaling. 12 would really be an ideal number of people. On the 2 hour tour you visit 3 bars, and on the 3 hour tour you visit 4, so you don't get a ton of time in each place... maybe 20-30 minutes. So unless you can down a drink quickly, I recommend shots. Evan, our driver, was great about keeping us moving and maintaining the party atmosphere on the bike. We had created our own spotify playlist and he played it for us and passed around a microphone so we could sing as we pedaled. Many people that we passed on the street were super friendly and congratulated the bachelorette. Overall a huge success! read more

AWFUL Likely the worst experience ever. Waited 22 min for a beer at the first drop off and then had to move within a strict 25 maximum bar time limit. Guide was belligerent and non accommodating. I've done the GL Pub Cruiser four times and each time is better than the last. We had Bethany as our tour guide and she did a great job! It seems like this year the course was a bit easier... I'm not sure if it was a different course or they made it a little easier with a shorter/flatter route. It's definitely a work out either way. As another review said, if you plan on eating, call ahead. Otherwise, there is plenty of time to have a drink and converse. I prefer to do the cruiser on a cooler day, so you don't break a sweat:) I also would rather do the cruise during the day than at night-less traffic. Pedestrians love it and are very interactive. I felt like I was in a parade. You can't drink on the cruiser, but that's just as well, I wouldn't even want to. I can't wait to do it again! read more

I occasionally see these things in downtown grand rapids. They do a good job of staying out of the way of pedestrian and cars alike. You can see everyone is very animated and paddling and laughing hard. I'm glad to know that never not everyone has to paddle. I find this to be an interesting concept in our uptight town. read more

I think not being able to drink on the bike deters a lot of people but don't let it, it is a blast drinking before and drinking at the bars you stop at.
