The best that I can figure, Cascade Winery is the only true wine tasting room in Grand Rapids. We…read morevisited this diamond in the rough last week. Being from SW Michigan where we can get to about 50 wineries in less than 40 minutes, I wasn't expecting Cascade Winery to be in an industrial type complex. But I was pleasantly surprised that the tasting room was pretty nice and quite large. They have lots of seating in the tasting room and another room for private events. Our pourer was the son of the owner. He was very knowledgeable and fun to speak with. We tried all the reds, a few whites, and a specialty wine. They were all very good. Cascade Winery doesn't grow their own grapes. A good portion come from Michigan and others come from California. The winery is also known as the Jaden James Brewery. We did not taste any of their beers or their mead. We came home with three bottles - Raspberry Chocolate Silk, Symphony Blush, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm excited to share them with my friends.

I'm gluten free, so the beers were a no-go, but I did enjoy a nice selection of wine (the red blend was my favorite) and hard ciders (a mix of raspberry and strawberry was nice and mellow, but the blueberry hard cider was great as well). We also were able to try the jalapeño wine. Not what I was expecting, but a great experience and a new taste! The atmosphere here is nice and down to earth. I felt very comfortable and the people behind the counter are really friendly, and eager to help. I'll come back here for some relaxing time to enjoy a nice glass of wine or cider.

I had arranged for an 11AM pick-up for our party of 13 people to take a wine tour in Southwest Michigan. At 11:15AM, the driver had not arrived yet and I began calling the company and "Scott, the Manager" - only to receive voice recordings from each. At approximately 11:30AM, I received a "txt message" reading - "Sorry, our shuttle bus broke down on the highway. It is not good. The turbo blew. All we can do is refund your deposit. Sorry." No one from the company had the courtesy to call me and personally apologize or offer assistance to find another option for our wine tour transportation, which was an activity we had planned our weekend around --- we had traveled to SW Michigan from out of town to celebrate our friend's wedding engagement. This company may be cheaper than a few other options out there, but please note - if an unforeseen "break-down" occurs, this company will leave you hanging... not what I would want anyone to experience for a wedding/special event of any kind. Use at your own risk. (Also, I have not received my deposit back yet... another frustrating aspect of this situation.)
