Pursuit of Happiness Co is the girl she says she is!…read more The atmosphere is modern, chic, and makes me want to hang around for hours. I was personally impressed mostly by the Spritz menu. The cherry spritz, mama I dream of it still . My only qualm is that I am a stickler for good glassware ~ I would like to see the beverages with a stem. And based on the aesthetic I know the owner could find some classic glassware. We need more places like this in GR, and I need more POH in my LIFE.

Popping in on the Friday after Thanksgiving with a friend around 9:30pm, here's my experience. 1) Cocktails: Their menu is large and includes cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and small bites. My friend ordered a seasonal cocktail and I started with the Passion Spritz, which was my favorite with passion fruit and guava. For my second drink, I ordered the French 75, which was average. It has good taste, but it came with a large ice cube. The cocktail was more watered down than ones I've had chilled v. with an ice cube. 2) Service: It was attentive and friendly. Throughout our stay, the servers checked in with us at appropriate times. All were approachable. 3) Space: It's simple yet chic with plenty of places to sit at the bar, at tables, and on couches. If you want a great place to catch up with friends, go here!

The study was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. Cameron took care of us. Nice guy and attentive. Hubby and I started with cocktails. He had an interesting bourbon drink with aperol and amaro. It was so good - and pretty! I had my usual bees knees. Missed the mark unfortunately. It had some fizz, which it should just be gin, lemon and honey. No soda. We ordered the deviled eggs as a starter. They were made with dijon and cornichons, topped with paprika, chives and lardon. Such a delicious bite. Hubby had the salmon tacos from the daily special menu. He loved the Spanish rice that came on the plate and the perfectly seasoned moist salmon. I had the seafood tagliatelle with shrimp, crab, salmon belly, fennel, and capers in a vodka sauce topped with toasted breadcrumbs. It was amazing! Thankfully, we had a refrigerator in our hotel room because I took half the tagliatelle to go. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the Grand Rapids area. The space is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is spot on. Great find!

I was with a large group, so I got to sample a number of tapas, which were ordered for the table. I loved the Iberico Pork Belly, and the Wild Boar Empanadas. I thought the Croquetas and the Patatas Bravos were good, though there are other things I'd order in the future. I thought the Ceviche Mixta was ok, though I'm not usually a fan of ceviche, and this was better than most. My least favorite was the Pulpo a la Gallega. While the octopus was tender, it had an unpleasant fishy flavor. I got the Chuletas de Cordero for a main course, and was so happy with the dish. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I really liked the chickpea topping. My only quibble was the dried apple slices added nothing to the dish. They had an unpleasant chewy texture, little flavor, and didn't add to the aesthetics. I would order this again in a heartbeat. I ordered the Árbol de Frambuesa, and it was an amazing dessert. The chocolate souffle was thicker and creamier than I expected, but it was so delicious! I don't want to ruin the surpise of this dish by describing how it looked. I would also order this again.

We used The Magic Shuttle for our wedding in March of 2022. I was most likely a pain to work with…read moreas our schedule changed and we added a late night shuttle for our guests a couple weeks prior to our wedding date. Matt, the owner was great to work with and clearly laid out the expectations. Day of, the first shuttle, driven by Steve, for our pictures was there early and was very great to work with. He clearly laid out the ground rules and they were easy to follow. I basically handed him off to the photographer in terms of where to be and what to do. There was a gap in time where we were gone walking around downtown GR and our driver got worried about us and called my cell, which I had left in the bus....Suggestion for anyone day of is to bring your phone off the shuttle. I appreciated his concern and willingness to help. At our next stop he reminded me to bring my phone(lol). We got our photos done early so we drove around town just playing music before we got back to our venue. At reception, Matt, the owner stopped by to see how everything was going. I really appreciated that he took the time out of his day with his crew already working with our guests to ensure nothing was missing. Post ceremony we had a shuttle for our guests to the hotels. Another driver, also named Matt, was driving this bus. I forgot to mention we had a second block rate at a different hotel. I brought it up and the Matt's were able to accommodate. Everyone said they got a kick out of these guys. Last ride of the night, Matt ensured me no one was left behind and he had double checked. I really appreciated that he had the consideration of my guests which I did. If I ever need another shuttle, I will definitely use the team at The Magic Shuttle and recommend to any one I know.

Definitely not worth the money! My friends and I reserved this "tour" and it was not as advertised…read more The bus picks you up in the weirdest/sketchiest parking lot and drops you off at bars, that's it. That's what they expect you to pay $300+ for. The bars were packed and no reservations were made for our tour group, so some bars had up to an hour wait. We had to eventually find our own bar down the block to not waste the hour sitting around. On top of all of that, the ride was not safe! The bus had no seatbelts and our driver was speeding like we were being chased. Don't waste your money on this poorly planned and unsafe riding "tour". I would give zero stars if I could.m
