We moved to Alvin, TX July 2020. During September, when Emelda passed through our area, the yard was soaked and the water was coming into the house. We decided we needed to have someone help us prevent future water intrusion problems.
There were so many problems with our house we made a decision to hire Shelton and his partner Ramiro. After meeting Shelton and hearing about his over 60 hours a week dedication to customers, we felt we could trust him. We told him about all the terrible problems we had in the past with contractors. He assured us he would do a good job and have our project finished quickly and, paraphrasing his words, would not screw us over.
Shelton and his partner began the job with a good start. The rock put around the house looks great. However, so much of the work is still unfinished and was not done well. We were at work and could not be at home during most of their modifications to solve our water problems. We had new gutters installed on the house by another contractor. He took out the bottom screws on the downspouts to connect them to his piping. The downspouts are no longer next to the house but pulled outward at the bottom to attach to Shelton's added water pipes. The downspouts do not fit well into the water pipes, and the securing straps can't be reattached using the same holes or straps.
The water pipes were not buried deep enough. He assured us he would build up the dirt enough to prevent the pipes from showing through the dirt. The pipes are not only showing through the dirt, but they are now separated at the joints in several places. Water is pouring out of these joints instead of being pumped out into other parts of the yard.
The electrical cords were not buried deep enough. The cords, including where the cords were plugged into each other, are showing through the dirt. There is something wrong with the connections with the electrical cords. For one of the electrical cords, the GFCI outlet trips when the plug is inserted. The other one in that area next to it does not trip the GFCI outlet, but the other one trips the plug every time. So now we have a pump that we cannot use until we troubleshoot and fix the problem ourselves. He told us at the beginning of the project we have at least a 2-year warranty, but he will not return to fix problems or finish what he started. We have repeatedly sent him a list of issues that remain over a period of about four months.
The pumps look very unprofessionally installed. Two of the pumps floated right up out of the water after a rain. He came out and used our bricks to hold the pump in the ground for one of them. The pipe in the front yard is also broken/separated. When the pump comes on the water pushes out of the separated pipe instead of flowing into the front of the yard.
The sidewalk was broken in several places while he and his team were working on our project. They repaired one of the worst places, but it looks terrible. They cut into the concrete in several places, poured concrete, and splashed concrete up onto the brick house. He promised they would pressure wash the brick, but he has not kept his promise.
Shelton and Ramiro left all of this unfinished work. I guess we will have to find someone we can trust to help us. Because of illness, my husband cannot do this work anymore. Shelton and Ramiro still owe us grass seed, two fig trees, one pear tree, a lemon tree, and completion of the project. The swale/ditch is not draining properly.
Promised drawings which we never received. He said he would do this before the job. Later he said he would do it after the job since he changed a few things up.
Most all of the plants they replanted have died.
After trying to contact him for about three months (Dec. 2019 - March 2020) he finally replied one day. A few times he said he would come out to finish, but never showed up. He will not communicate with us anymore. What good does a two-year warranty do if he doesn't complete the job?
My husband has cancer and Shelton and Ramiro left all of this unfinished work. I guess we will have to find someone else we can trust to help us.

Many times they would not show up or let us know when they would be working. When they did show up it was late morning, then a very very long lunch, a couple of hours work and they were gone again.
Very messy and did not clean up after themselves. Left drinks and cigarette butts all over the yard. read more
