We had received quotes from many contractors but we are glad we went ahead with Greatheights outdoor living The only thing that was a slight disappointment was the spacing on the lattice. we had requested for 4" but it turned out 6". it still looks great so we are happy with it. The patio included the purchase of a grill recommended and sold by the company. Construction of the patio was completed in April of 2024. July 2024 the grill no longer works. We have been in constant contact with the company asking for help. This project was far from inexpensive and part of enjoying the patio is the ability to grill. Our GC said they had received other complaints on the grill they recommended and sold us. Per the GC they would give us another grill since there are known issues with the one they sold us. I had communication with the GC on the following dates: July 13, July 18, July 24, July 29, July 30, July 31, August 2, August 8, August 9, August 14, August 19, August 29, August 30, Sept 9, Sept 11, Sep 24, Oct 8, Oct 9, October 15. The whole time being promised we are working on it and want to do the right thing for you as our customer. I finally reach out to have my issue escalated to the owner and was told 1. No - I'm not getting a new grill (although they know this one has issues) 2. They haven't even begun the process to get the replacement part. We have been led on 4+ plus months through darn near weekly conversations "Of this sucks. We want to make it right. We are working on it" - to find out it has all been a big lie. Four months later and we still have no resolution.

This was an outdoor kitchen and also a balcony addition. Some items were addressed but others were not. I recommend you get a home inspector to inspect the work they perform to ensure everything is in compliance to code, meets expectations of a home inspector, doesn't devalue nor diminish the value of your home, and there are no issues when you try to sell your home in the future. For example, their framer performed some of the electrical work on the balcony and not licensed to do so. Other staff initially used on the outdoor kitchen was used who were not journeymen electrician either. I reached out to the owner of Cypress Patios or CPABD LLC on multiple occasions giving him the opportunity to correct the issues and he elected to not address them in writing. Remaining items not addressed is electrical wiring in the attic protruding above the studs and not stapled down. A loose banister railing on a balcony not secured down. And damage to our concrete patio from their selected pressure washer damaging our concrete patio. Our house was brand new and only 2 months old when Cypress Patios or CPABD LLC left these unresolved issues on our property. See photos below of the workmanship and unresolved items found by a state certified home inspector and photos. And keep in mind this is an acclaimed award winning company in 2023 and 2025. But this was left unresolved and was not corrected. I welcome the owner to respond herein on how and when they plan to resolve these issues. As of today, April 16, 2026, the owner communicated in writing he has no plans to resolve these issues.

I had Joe out Wednesday to give me an estimate for a patio cover having already told them what I…read morewanted. Upon his arrival, there was no smile, no warm hello or anything. All I was met with was a sourpuss face & no personality at all. Nothing to make me want to do business with him. Even on the way to the backyard in my head I was thinking "this guy is just heaps of fun". Once we got back there I again told him what I wanted which was just a simple wood frame with sheet metal roof. That's it, nothing fancy or too expensive. Then he starts talking about removing the eve of the house & raising the roof line & adding 2"x12" beams and doing this & that, none of which I wanted. I have a AAS degree in architectural design & know that a 2"x12" beam is only needed for long spans or heavy weight loads, neither of which was the case for what I wanted. When I asked why he wanted to use such large lumber his only response was "That's what you need". No , no its not. Even my full roof only uses 2"x6"s. No way in same hell does a sheet of metal require such a large piece of lumber to support it. Hell, even if I had wanted shingles, that size lumber isnt required for that weight load. It was very clear that he was trying to give me what he wanted to build instead of what I wanted. Once he said that he wouldn't build what I wanted, I told him "then we are done here" and started to escort him off the property. As I did, he asked me "did you look at the pics on our website?" "Yes I did. I thought you were custom patio builders who would give the customer what they wanted but it appears you only want to build what you want, not the customer" On the way out he decided to be an ass and sarcastically wished me luck on my project which I just ignored because I was pissed about him trying to give me his vision instead of mine. He then repeated his comment and said "no need to be rude". That's when I lost it. I turned around and said "Excuse me?! But you are the one that showed up here with a sourpuss face & and made it seem like you didn't want to be here from the start. Then you tried taking me down a totally different path than what I wanted. I've already spent $100k in upgrades to my house and I don't want nor need a $50,000 patio cover." At some point he mentioned that he was good enough to come out to give me an estimate & how I wasted his time. No Joe, you wasted mine. I was clear & upfront about what I wanted from the beginning. You are the one that decided to try & ignore your clients wishes, you wasted your own time be even agreeing to come out.
