Extensive chat regarding my daughter's, 2003 Mercedes C230 W203 1.8 Kompressor 97K miles, which they made until 2008 & hardly modified thereafter for the W204 except for the chassis & styling mods ("facelift") on into late 2015. I asked about diagnostics informing them that I had already performed my own diagnostics having owned a automotive shop in the 1990s but being 65 with disc degeneration from C3 to C7 along with my eyesight not so good anymore I needed some more capable fresh eyes on the matter with regards to the CEL & perhaps performing a smoke test & isolating a vacuum leak which was causing the Emissions system, specifically the purge circuit for the charcoal canister to fail registering with a code. I informed them that I had already ferreted it out with the TSB's & confirmed that the fuel filler neck had been replaced as per a warranty recall but that instead of a hard plastic Teflon vacuum line there was a fuel line in place which I suspect it was collapsing upon evacuation of the purge system "call". I also informed them that I had already replaced the fuel cap, the purge valve, with items from Amazon, & the dealer without the issue resolving itself. I also informed them that I had a iCarSoft along with a LAUNCH CRP, EQUUS 3140 INNOVA & an ACTRON CP9410 scanner tools & that I was able to read, clear & monitor in real time the issue with regards to the CEL. They came back & said they don't work on old cars.... Or that they quit working on cars that old a couple years ago. Which is just bullshit. If you go to their site Facebook page or otherwise, even their ad/advertisement shows a C Class, W203 car that they claim to have worked on which is exactly what my daughter's car is. They just don't want customers like me that know what they're talking about because they won't be able to take advantage of me & now they refuse to even respond to me over chat. I even gave them the chance to say just let me know that "I'm one of THOSE customers, & that you don't really wanna deal with people like me" but they're fucking cowards & therefore they're liars because they don't want to tell the truth. I chose Great Motors because they are a smaller business with consistently high reviews and offered a reasonable price compared to Sewell Subaru. I provided them with the diagnostic from Sewell, which clearly indicated that my vehicle needed a new AC condenser and both rear wheel bearings. After a week in the shop, I was informed that the AC was still not working and that my car had developed a new "screeching" noise that was not present prior to service. I later learned that instead of replacing the AC condenser, as the diagnostic indicated, they replaced the AC compressor. Great Motors then charged an additional $188 to re-diagnose the same issue, when it was their mistake that they replaced the AC compressor instead of the condenser. Their misunderstanding of the difference between these AC parts resulted in an additional hundreds of dollars!! Unfortunately, this experience left me with a car that was incorrectly repaired, unnecessary additional fees and concerns about both the accuracy of their work and accountability. While I wanted to support a local business, I cannot recommend Great Motors based on this unsatisfactory outcome. read more

Great place from mobile to in shop. Mobile was on time and had everything needed have me a quote and was able to get me towed in shop to get my other work done and the diagnostic went towards the total. I have since then sent more people there way. Every shop will have a couple of rotten eggs for simple misunderstandings or someone trying to get over on this family owned shop and now dealership wouldn't trust anybody else with my vehicle and they will even refer you to someone else if they are out of your budget WHO DOES THAT!!! you better not walk but run to them mobile paint and body as well as buying a vehicle they have it all and great warranty. !! read more

I would definitely recommend this place for an engine swap it might have took a little bit but they got it done for my husbands car after having another mobilemachic look at his car to fix the valve adjustment on his car we got told his car was having misfires in all 6 cylinders that's when great motors popped up on my Facebook page and they came out I think it was the next day check his car out and even had it towed to the shop there were 4 other cars but we were patient and waited but after all that waiting we have it back with a new engine and new motor mounts in the car too I'm happy to say all that waiting was definitely worth it in the end . Stay away! This place is a joke. Mobile guy showed up at my house for diagnostic and didn't have the proper tools to perform no troubleshooting. Had to borrow a flash light and a test light from me, and he had a $35 obd scanner from Amazon instead of having a professional diagnostic scanner. Then he did his report on my vehicle off what I told him what I think the problem is because he didn't have a clue. They just want the $109 fee for showing up. Stay away!! read more

We took our car here to be repaired it had a blown engine 2014 Kia Sorento made a deal for them to put a motor into it it took them several months to do so we picked the car up drove it for about 3 weeks or longer and the motor blew again it was on warranty we took it back they had a new manager when we came he told us he would rebuild the motor and get it back to us no problem two months later we picked the car up made it about a mile from home 20 mi away it started knocking really bad doing the same thing it was already doing as if they hadn't done anything he said okay we're going to put another motor in it so we took it back to them they would not pick it up or anything so had to get a tow for the third time on our money they put a motor in supposedly and we picked it up two months later and on the way home did exactly the same thing again started knocking really bad on the same side same sound and then locked up will not run it all now I called them back cuz it's still on warranty manager said he had to get in contact with the owner I asked for the owner's name as I've done for months and he wouldn't give it to me I had to go searching for her and contact her she finally contacted me tells me we will work it out and she was going out of town would be out of town for a week I waited patiently she got back in town I called her this morning she tells me they're not doing anything else to the car because she's not putting no more money into it but she will give us a car they have there to trade for our car that is paid off that we paid $35,000 for new is the only thing she will do but not putting any more money into our car or honoring the warranty the car has never been fixed correctly took it without asking to another County Dallas from Fort Worth enough times that he put $350 somewhat miles on it while it was still knocking said he was going to see if it was going to blow or not I told him he could not be driving the car he did not have permission I have heard from several other people they have had the same thing done to them here at the shop stuff stolen off their car cars broken into Cadillac converters taking right in front of their shop ours was broken into someone took a drill and drilled a hole in our gas tank stole our gas they pulled the gas tank out without even asking got a new one and then charge for $300 extra for something that happened in other parking lot they are very unprofessional and they're not know what they're doing they have put us in a very big Bind by keeping our car several times over the last seven or eight months they've had it more than we have and we have been puti a possition were wife lost job and now tje the owner katana barnes is trying to embezzle my car from us and give us a ultamatum to trade us because she evidently thinks she can swindle us out of our suv she knows we don't have nothing to drive and if she trade us for our car and puts a motor in our car she can resell it for $10,000 or more easily this is a scandal they're pulling on people and they are getting away from it do not take your cars here unless you want it to be broke into or them to Swindle you out of your money I don't have the money to get a lawyer so I have to use the media and help from people around thank you for listening Keenan read more

The level of unprofessionalism from the owner is ASTONISHING. I brought my car to Great Motors in February for diagnostic. He told me what needed to be repaired and I paid for it to get fixed. For some reason, when I got my car back the check engine light was on... it wasn't on when I first bought the car to him. From Feb. on, I started noticing issues with my car that weren't there before I got work done. I bought my car back in August and was told, upon his recommendation, that it was time to replace the engine and that's why the check engine light was on. When I dropped my car off for that repair, I was lied to several times about the day he would actually start the repair and he ended up keeping my car for over 18 days when the initial timeline was 7-10 days. After the engine replacement (and spending almost $6,000), I picked my car up and guess what came on as soon as I drove off the lot? The check engine light... I let him know the check engine light came back on and he said I'd have to bring it back at a later time and he would check the code. When he finally checked the code, it was for the exact same part he supposedly replaced in February... He charged me almost $1,000 for a repair he never did and rather than actually diagnosing the problem when I brought the car back, he pushed me into replacing my engine for absolutely no reason. The worst part is that the problem I had before the engine replacement is STILL happening. Also I was told I would be getting a new engine put into my car just for him to tack on an additional $47 without consent and let me know AFTER THE FACT that the engine indeed had over 40,000 miles... I now have to spend even more time and money taking my car to an actual LEGIT shop to get my car diagnosed and additional repairs. Please for the love of god DO NOT bring your car to this shop. They will leave your car worse than it was when you dropped it off and constantly lie and gaslight you about repairs needed and how long those repairs will take. I will NEVER come to this shop again and will also make sure none of my friends/ family do either. Please stay away from this unprofessional scam of a shop. read more
