The facility hired a new compliance officer who has no understanding of her role, repeatedly overstepping boundaries, violating professional lines, and acting with clear bias rather than impartiality. Employees who attempt meaningful intervention are accused of overstepping. The unspoken expectation is to stop helping and allow clients to leave, relapse, and die. This facility fails both staff and patients. BHAs and nurses constantly fight over basic resources like printers and office access. These are trained professionals expected to support recovery yet cannot function together. It is an unhealthy work environment. The same roles are constantly posted full time, part time, and overtime, indicating extreme turnover. Qualifications are often only a GED or high school diploma. This is my firsthand experience at Great Oaks, I came in looking for a place to detox and they took me in, which was nice, I really liked one of the techs he was super cool, the other staff didn't really smile, there was a black lady and an older white lady she was friendly and nice even though she was missing some teeth, there was a bigger white lady with short hair who seemed strict with everyone, and a young European man who was the clinical director he was cool, that's what I remember of the staff, they have phone days twice a week so I took some pics of the facility, the facility itself is nice, but you only get phone access if you attend group meetings which doesn't make sense when they allow MP3 players that can function like phones, clients try to get their phones from counselors and it feels like they are trying to cheat the system, it isn't right The dorms aren't great, there's a guy who blasts his music at 3 am, guys fight over the TV remote, some of the guys aren't respectful toward the girls, the rooms often smell which is unpleasant, the food is good, I was surprised there isn't a doctor on site though they have some good nurses, there's a gym and a pool but no hot tub and the water isn't very warm I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone truly seeking treatment or for a loved one, there are issues with personal space and privacy, long story short I left before completing the full program because it was hard to adjust to these conditions, this is my honest opinion, take it for what it is.. read more

Worst rehab I've ever been to. In the short time I was there, I watched staff constantly come and go, clinical directors, case managers, nurses, nothing stays stable. Most staff don't even have a college degree, many only a high school diploma or GED, yet they act like they know addiction. The environment is completely unsafe. Clients sneak drugs in through packages, vapes, even MP3 players, and family members often send drugs in as well. Special privileges are abused so clients can smuggle in more substances, and I witnessed it repeatedly. There is even illegal winemaking from fruit in the kitchen. Searches are meaningless, boundaries are blurred, and professionalism is nearly nonexistent. Staff gossip, lie, and openly discuss clients, creating mistrust and discomfort. The facility is dirty, old, and chaotic, with high turnover, broken lights, no hot water, and a haunted feeling that adds to the stress. Equally concerning, some clients behave inappropriately with each other and some staff are completely untrained. The place is run more like a prison or mental hospital than a recovery center. A few staff are kind and compassionate, but the majority make it unbearable. Unsafe doesn't even begin to describe it. What concerned me most was safety, I personally witnessed patient sneaking drugs into the dorms, vapes containing substances, and people making alcohol from fruit inside the facility, which is extremely dangerous for someone trying to stay clean and sober. After detox, treatment was minimal, counseling was very limited, and medical care was mostly handled remotely THERE IS NO DOCTOR it was all teleheath very discouraging i expected a more hospital setting it seems like a retreat more than a recovery center i needed a hospital not a spa this which did not come close to matching what was promised or the cost. When I asked to leave, the process was stressful and discouraging. I visited this residential treatment facility to see a close friend, "K". I was asked to put my vape away, which I understood, but during my visit I noticed a strong musty smell. K later shared concerns about mold lack of hot water, frequent staff turnover, and that while nurses were supposedly available 24 hours, most medical contact was online, which was worrying since he wasn't feeling well and his blood pressure was low. He left before completing 30 days and relapsed shortly after. If you care about your loved ones, do not send them here. I went to pick up my husband after his discharge, my heart broke hearing his stories, clients were abusing mp3 players to record him and get personal information, there were drugs in the dorm, even an illegal wine making operation, staff were rude especially the compliance lady with short hair, this place does not have enough rooms just beds, it felt unsafe and my husband was scared, I will be taking him to a hospital, do not send your loved ones here, I do not recommend it. I discharged in the middle of the night had my husband come get me. The no phone policy is to keep you from contacting loved ones to pick you up luckily one of the guys has an mp3 player that can connect to the wifi and I was able to send a message on messenger. Anyways the place is dirty expensive and has no medical staff i.e doctors or real medical facility they have nurses that give you meladone or something like that and that alone is addictive.
