I selected Jahnle because of convenient location, free parking, and yes, examination, and eyeglasses. Stacks of eyeglasses in different colors and styles were neatly positioned ahead as I entered the office. The office was eye-pleasing, properly lit, and well-appointed. The staff was professional and courteous. An assistant promptly completed a questionnaire as I provided answers about my health status. She applied drops for the standard Glaucoma and retinal examinations. The tests were conducted quickly and comfortably. Best yet, no sign of vision deterioration and no need for replacement glasses. The examining physician, Dr. Mekel, indicated that I would not need another exam for two years. Although glasses could be ordered here, he provided a prescription in the event I wished glasses manufactured elsewhere. A pleasant experience!

Again got fitted. 2 weeks later I went into pick. Again could not focus. They re-ordered new glasses again. Thought the third time would be a charm but nope. Told him no thank you. I arrived at 8:30 for an 8:45 appointment and I left the office at 10:20 after skipping my dilation. I have a rare eye issue and skipping a yearly dilation is not safe, but I worried if I did it that I would be there for three hours instead of two. Dr. Nolan went as fast as she could and apologized, but then when I went to the front desk to pick up my prescriptions I had to wait another 15 minutes on top of the over 1.5 hours I had already spent in that building. I was going to be late for a meeting for work, so I went in the back and begged them to just hand me my scripts and send me a bill and they debated with me that I still needed to wait until the doctor came out and handed me the paperwork herself. The front desk is exceedingly rude, and for the record, I had an incomplete yearly eye exam that took two hours start to finish and only because I made a scene. They should seriously be embarrassed of what they have done to this practice.

Regarding the people complaining about medical vs vision insurance, it really depends on what you're being seen for. Sometimes eye doctors bill medical insurance (like when I had pink eye), and sometimes it's vision insurance (like when I went to have my vision checked and contacts fitted). If you have one or both of those types of insurance, simply check with them before your appt, so you know what to expect and how much it will cost you. Leaving a bad review about this type of thing solves nothing. My only complaint with this office is that they really take their time. What took 10 minutes at Americas Best (now there is a TRULY AWFUL office!!) takes an hour and a half here. The appointments could definitely be shorter if they did their work a little more efficiently. An appointment of this type should really take about 45 minutes to no more than an hour. Anyway, I hope more people will take the time to leave a positive review for this quality eye care practice. It's such a shame that nowadays, most people only bother to leave a rating or review if they are angry about something.

I had an…read moreappointment at 11:45, arrived early to fill out paperwork and was informed of 1 gentleman in front of me. About 20 min pass and then gentleman is taken and a lady arrives. Another 15 minutes go by and the lady that had arrived after me begins to complain, the staff decide to jump her ahead of me. Waited an hour to even be seen and the doctor didn't provide any information or results that made me walk out satisfied. The urgent care had provided me with antibiotics and the doctor was upset I couldn't remember the name of the antibiotic. Wouldn't return or recommend this place to anyone. If you want fast service complain and they'll jump you 2+ people.
