When I arrived for my first appointment with Dr. Roat at this office, the first and only thing I saw through the glass doors to the suite was the optical store. I understand that this is quite common; however I work in a helping profession myself and am very turned off by medical practices that feature commercial products. You could not reschedule me for over a month. My appointment is next week. On Friday, September 26 I received a phone call to schedule an appointment. I needed to call you office, leave a message, and wait for a phone call to make sure my appointment, again, was not canceled. While I was on the phone verifying my appointment was not canceled. the person HUNG UP ON ME. This is very unprofessional. I wanted to ask her if I could opt out of the phone calls to schedule an appointment.

Doctor came in about 10 mins later for a 8 min consult. Office is old, the artwork is old and the people in the waiting room are old. Long story short, pretty good Doctor but expect to wait. Same story with my follow up visit. Waited in the waiting room for over an hour. Janice at the front desk is very nice and efficient.

Their standard of care is uncompromising. In a world where time limits apply and doctors generally try to get patients in and out as fast as possible, the doctors at Havertown Family Practice still take the time to understand what is going on. I've observed that there's generally a rule about doctor's offices. It's a rarity to get great office staff and great doctors together. This office is definitely an exception to the rule. While both of the doctors are great, the office staff is just as exceptional as they are. Cathy and Mary are always so pleasant to talk to and we're always happy to come back, if just to see them.
