Full disclosure - the 4th star is for the nostalgia value. Maybe I'm biased because actual egg rolls and the golden/yellow fried rice are nowhere to be found where I live, and you'll be lucky to find the red roast pork. Around me it's spring rolls, brown rice, and brown pork...meh. I mean, it's otherwise a standard Chinese takeout. This is my parents' go-to place whenever we go visit them. We always get a variety of items and enjoy them all. I will say my one complaint is inconsistency on spiciness. I like food spicy and have tried requesting that (including on items marked spicy) but it doesn't always end up spicy. I've been back here several times recently since I basically wrote this place off eight years ago. Apparently, either my first experience with them was just a bad night for them, or they have really upped their game. The last few times I have been there in the space of this year, the food was very good. I ordered online each time and the food was ready precisely on time, meaning it was piping-hot when you picked it up. They honored my spice requests each time (extra spicy), and the orders were always correct. Still one of the best Hot & Sour soups I've ever had. Great little takeout place. Food is consistently good and the service is excellent. The vegetable dumplings were tasty. Szechuan beef and chicken with string beans were delicious. The food is much better than the place we frequented in our old neighborhood in Queens. read more

Definitely delicious! Ordered cashew chicken, egg roll, boneless ribs, wonton soup ... all were delicious!

We used to love Great Wall. Then we started using empire wok because they deliver. Well, we just tried them again for the first time in a couple years and it was awful. Fried rice seemed like it may have been minute rice...tasted old and had a weird consistency. Their boneless ribs were too sweet and fatty ( used to be the best). I'm not sure if it's changed hands in the past few years but it's no longer the Great Wall we remembered. read more

Great little Chinese spot, we got all sorts of food and it was all good. It's your standard Chinese takeout so don't expect to be blown away. For the price, it's tasty, quick, quality fast food. We ordered over the phone with a few custom requests and everything was made the way we wanted. Will definitely come back again. read more

I know this place has been taking a lot of heat from my peer- yelpers, so I figured I'd give them a little bit of love. The lunch menu from this place is fabulous! For under $8 you can get a pretty decent sized meal with a side or drink. Not too shabby if you ask me. I love their chicken with broccoli plate; it comes with white rice and I always get either wonton soup or a can of soda. Defiantly fills me up for lunch! No complaints from me! read more

This is convenient Chinese food and the best take out in Poughquag. Nice family who runs the restaurant and they make he best egg rolls I've ever had. My husband and I grab some food here a few times a month. I didn't give a full five stars though because there is always room for improvement where ever you go. Not too exciting to eat inside, decor is a bit out dated but every one is pleasant. read more

The food is good, but waiting for my takeout order I noticed that the place is not kept very clean. The ceiling has a fan with the blades removed with giant dust bunnies hanging down. The floor and soda refrigerators are filthy. I could only think of how the kitchen is kept which is why this is not my first choice for Chinese food in the area. The place reminds me of a run down place you would find in the deep Bronx, not an affluent area like Poughquag. They need to renovate the front for sure... read more

I went in today for lunch. First off, the guy at the counter was rude. Just placing an order, he acted like I was bothering him. The place wasn't very clean. The tables and chairs are dirty, the floors and drink cooler could have been cleaner. I got my food in about 15 minutes. They give you a tiny soup (Mr. Personality didn't bother to ask me what kind I wanted, either) and a normal lunch portion of food. I ordered the boneless spare ribs lunch combination. The rice was bland and the ribs were just "okay". Also, most of what I thought was ribs in the bowl was actually more rice. It was probably 90% rice, 10% ribs for almost $7! Outrageous! Not going back for mediocre food and bad service. read more
