Ordered from Great Wall through Doordash because Im trying to find a good spot that has Mu Shu Pork. They do! It arrived a little different from what I expected. The portion was smaller than what I usually encounter and was fairly dry. The included pork was diced rib meat rather than long thin strands of pork. The flavor was good. They provided 4 pancakes. We also had crab rangoons, egg rolls, and shrimp rolls. My husband had General Tso chicken and my son had Sweet and Sour chicken. Everything was good. Not great. Honestly a 10/10 a hole in the wall for sure but I grew up in a city where the small hole in the wall Chinese restaurants were the best, portions are great, food from what I can speak to I order two Saturdays a month General Tso , Fried Chicken Wings , Boneless Spare Ribs all amazing. Poor quality Chinese food. The egg rolls were terrible: burnt, fried in old/dirty oil, and the mystery "meat" on the inside looked and felt soggy like it was previously chewed. Do NOT eat at Great Wall Chineese! At least, until after these inflated prices settle down and things go back to normal. I usually love their food but lately it is terrible! I'd be willing to bet there was at least a whole onion if not two in my chow mein. They are doing this to cut costs. Onions are cheap, beef is not. Also, they had a huge container of cooked chicken sitting on top of a dirty barrel of some kind without refrigeration! This has to be a MASSIVE health code violation. read more

Hood-rat quality at best. It's one of those spots that from the minute you walk in you question if the food is good. Sometimes you get surprised and it is but NOT at this dump. The egg rolls were soggy and overcooked inside. They appeared to be leftover and recooked. The shrimp fried rice was super sticky and bland. Even the color was dull and no amount of Soy could revive its lack of flavor. I also ordered the Shrimp and Broccoli which was equally low in quality and bland in taste not to mention that the broccoli was over cooked. Never again and I highly recommend NOT going here. Save your money and try an establishment more authentic. There is no pride in the food prepared and sold at the Great Wall. In fact, you'd be better off and would probably enjoy it more if you were throwing the food OVER the Wall! read more

Sizable portions but the quality just isn't there. The Kung Pao chicken was 90% celery. Noodles were over done, shrimp toast was burnt, items were missing from the order and after giving an 1.5h estimate for delivery in a non rush hour, they still managed to show up late. Also I ordered everything they had a spice indicator at the highest level and while the flavors weren't bad there was 0 heat. The upside is you can actually do online orders. Nothing super special, however the food is pretty good for the price you pay. We, my wife and I, usually get the House Lo Mein , which is pretty tasty (chicken, pork and shrimp with vegetables in their sauce. Sometimes we also get Fried Rice (chicken/pork or house (chicken, pork,shrimp in the rice with veggies. All in all a lot of pretty good tasting food for, what I think is a very reasonable price. Never had anything bad from there. We always get takeout as we live about five to eight minutes away. We usually get food from here maybe once or twice every couple of months as it is definitely not the healthiest of food to eat on a regular basis. It strikes me as odd that this little place doesn't have higher ratings thus far. It's been around since I used to live in York, back in 1998, and back then it was the only good cheap place to get REALLY large portions of Chinese takeout close-by. For the past ten years, whenever I'm home and craving Chinese, I grab it, and it never disappoints. Cheap, huge portions, and tasty. It's not exotic, it's not gourmet, it's not high-end. There are places to go for that. I've lived in San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, however, and haven't found a place that matches it for price/value/quality when you're going slumming for Chinese takeout. Last Christmas my dining companions were Filipino and Chinese, and they thought it hysterical that they liked it so much, their expectations were low (it's York) and they thought it was great for $6 also. They comment about it when I booked the flight here, they liked it so much... Kung pao chicken HIGHLY recommended. read more

Not too shabby. I have been looking for my (clean) hole-in-the-Wall Chinese food place since I've been in PA and finally found it! This place is located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. The inside is not fancy and even boasts a corner where they store food visibly. There is seating but limited and on any given day you can catch them using the seating area to peel beans or something to prep food. It's a legit American style Chinese food place. (Not Authentic Chinese Food, I've lived in China). I ordered the lunch special General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice and added Pineapple, Crab Rangoon, and got it to-go. Reasonably priced! The General Tso's Chicken was a large portion for a lunch special with a good crunch on the chicken in a good sauce. Only complaint is that there were only two pieces of broccoli. Shrimp Fried Rice with added Pineapple was good and a large is actually large enough to feed four hungry people. Crab Rangoon was not what I was looking for in texture but the flavors were ok. Overall, if I'm in the area or Jones'n for some American-City-Style Chinese I'll be back. read more

Charged my husband for someone else's order then want him to pay the difference (really-your mistake and only like $ 5.00) and then no food. They had not even made the food yet !!! No discount given for all the inconvenience. last time we ordered from them we had and issues. Guess its time to find a new restaurant." AND we did not get our entire order!! Great food, great prices, fast and friendly service, a quick stop off Rt. 30 with lots of parking in the mall lot. We always order the hot and sour soup and ta chan chicken. Try it soon. I went here once and was never served. Place looks like an inner city dump. The dining area is more of a wait area/nursery for the staffs kids with toys strewn about and their children loudly watching programs on an iPad. Waited 10 minutes at the counter but nobody ever offered to take my order. All three workers were too busy cooking in the back (with no gloves on though handling food). Small, very warm, dingy are all words that describe Great Wall in my opinion but tasty is a good word to describe the food. My wife and I came here for dinner on this past Friday and I was impressed with the taste of the food. I had cashew chicken and egg drop soup. The portions were huge but more impressively, the taste was wonderful. My wife had general tso's chicken and it too was very tasty and prepared as expected. This is your typical take-out Chinese. Nothing extra-special about this place other than out of a lot of choices for take out, I find this one the best so far. They aren't going to put PF Chang's out of business, but it's pretty good Chinese for the price. General Tso, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, and an egg roll for $26. Mongolian beef had to many onions. I'd definitely eat here again. read more

This place is the perfect dive when it comes to cheap-yet-delicious-and-well-prepared Chinese style food. Anytime I've ordered something I get a heaping portion, these folks are not stingy. It's not flashy, there are no reservations or greeters. The ambiance is much more low key than that. This is, hands down, the best Chinese carry out in York county. It's a small dive in a strip mall portion near LA Fitness, and while it has tables I think it's main objective is carry out. It's absolutely not fancy in any way. No impressive display or TV's or anything of that nature, just a few magazines and newspapers written in what I assume is Cantonese that you can read while you wait for your food (and if you ask me, that really adds to the ambiance, I love it). It's like those small Chinese places that you see in the movies, it's simple, run-down looking, and purposeful. Now beware, when you go in it's a slummy little place, but the food is prepared well in view, so don't let that scare you. I think the dingy atmosphere only adds to it! The portions are HUGE!!! I'm a die-hard sweet/sour chicken fan and each order is enough for two meals easily. The crab Rangoon is to die for. Their soups are perfect. I've never had a complaint yet. The employees are straightforward. They take your order and make your food. If you love Chinese you will not be disappointed. DO KNOW THIS: I highly recommend ordering ahead of time. They are a very busy place and most of their orders are phone in. While you can order from the counter, you might have to wait a while, depending on their work load. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes when counter ordering. The food is worth it. Go in, order food, grab a menu, call it in next time. You can't lose. read more
