I was staying in the Harrisburg / Hershey area last weekend prior to a wedding and decided to come here for dinner on Saturday. I was a little skeptical of this place but I was craving pho and this place was open later than other places in the area. There doesn't seem to be too much else going on around this area. The restaurant itself has a pretty tight parking lot. Looked like they had both indoor and outdoor seating. Pretty nondescript inside; just a couple tables. I got the Extra Large Pho; I think it was item #1 on the menu. It was $13 and I paid $15.77 with tax and tip included. When the bowl came out, it exceeded my expectations because it looked like a lot of food. I was pretty impressed with the broth; it was pretty rich and fatty in a good way. Definitely better than average IMO. There was a huge block of noodles inside the bowl that took a bit of time to separate. I'm glad they included a lot of noodles, but I thought the noodles were the weakest part cause they became overcooked a bit too quickly. Still enjoyable though. The meats were pretty standard; thin beef and tendon was good but I would've liked the meatballs to be a bit better quality. These aren't huge criticisms though; overall the bowl was very enjoyable. So overall I'm cool with giving out 4 stars for this place. I would've expected pho in this area to be a bit cheaper; if that was the case then it might be 5 stars instead of 4. But no major complaints and I'd recommend based on my visit. The people running the place seemed nice / polite as well. read more

This was literally everything I was looking for on a chilly night. The pho was super flavorful. I always want more meat in my pho but they provided a nice portion in my brisket pho. The chicken fried rice tasted good but didn't necessarily appeal to the eye. I like my fried rice to be a little more...fried. Finished the meal off with a star berry smoothie with boba which was absolutely delicious. We went back in for another before we left! Definitely a nice find on our weekend trip. read more

The better half, younger daughter and a friend of the better half and I were looking for food before the long drive home from a speaker. I picked this place because they have my wife's favorite Viet dish- Pho Ap Chow. The place isn't much to look at from the outside, but honestly my favorite Vietnamese places lack some curb appeal. I don't care. It's not why I'm there. We were earlier than the dinner rush so we were seated immediately by a friendly server. Ordering was smooth, the wife and I shared a rice crepe (banh xeo) it was pretty ok, but it did come with lots of fresh basil and what I believe is saw toothed herb. Ija dos got a vegetarian spring roll which she raved about, Ija particularly liked the peanut sauce. I didn't try it. Wolfie don't eat no tofu. Better half and friend each got pho ap chow. Better half reported it is the best she has ever had by far and away. I tried it and it was crazy good. I'll reserve judgement about the best because I'm not a connoisseur of the dish. I had the Bo kho and loved it. Again with the nice plate of herbs and fresh peppers. Maybe not the best I've ever had, but solid top three. Ija dos got the lemongrass shrimp vermicelli bowl and gave it high marks. The Nuoc Cham here was pretty straightforward diluted fish sauce w a hint of sweetness that I attribute to more northern styles, which coupled with the pho ap chow and a few other egg noodles dishes pointed to more northern origins, I believe and please correct me if I'm wrong. Like I mentioned the service was friendly and fast. The restaurant seemed very clean and the bathrooms well maintained. This was a great experience and I'm looking forward to being back in the area so I can go here again. read more

Good quality Vietnamese takeout in a location that has struggled to keep a restaurant open for more than a couple of years. Pho is good, as are the other Vietnamese specialties on the menu. The restaurant has undergone an ownership change and I don't think the pho broth is quite as good as it was when they opened, but overall you can't really go wrong here. read more

We at there last night. I had only been there once, before COVID, and I was happy with the food but not ecstatic. Last night, the food was fabulous. The Pho was great. The only issue was with the tendon being really hard - but that's on the cow not the restaurant. The soup was served with lots of bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeno, lime, and culantro. And they didn't skimp. Two of us ordered large pho and it was enough to share. The bowls are HUGE. I actually had to take home half of my soup. I wanted to save it for lunch today, but it was so good I actually ate it cold late at night. My daughter had the meatball pho and I had them make mine with round eye and tendon (not on the menu but the accommodated my request). My husband had the grilled pork with egg roll on noodles. He said it was some of the best he'd ever had and said it was worth every carb in the noodles. I loved their garlic pepper hot sauce on the table. It was sooooo good in the pho. I kept adding more and more and more . . . My first visit to this location was a 3.5 star experience. Last night was a 4.75 so I'm rounding up. They were masked and had tables separated so they're doing what they can to be COVID-friendly. Two thumbs way up. P.S. The drinking water many restaurants tastes like mildew. This water was perfectly flavorless. Also, I always judge the freshness of the pho by the condition of the bean sprouts. The sprouts last night were crisp and unwilted. We've eaten here twice so far, and we had great experiences both times. Bánh mì is wonderful. Pork in that sandwich has such good flavor. Soups are fantastic. Everything hit the spot. The only issue I had was that the check comes with a credit card surcharge built in, and (even though it's not that expensive) we got charged even though we paid with cash. There are quite a few parking spots, but they're arranged oddly - two spots on the right side can't both be used. Be careful when backing out of the spot. This isn't your normal black bean sauce you get in other Oriental Style cooking it's a looser spicier concoction very enjoyable in taste with unique vegetables! Since this was our first time here and trying Vietnamese Cuisine we kind of searched for something that seemed familiar! The server was pleasant and when we were deciding between a couple of choices she actually help by saying that the shrimp and chicken with Black Bean Sauce is her favorite also! An accidental find! I was planning to go somewhere else that ended up being closed. So I stumbled upon Pho3, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered my favorites - shrimp spring rolls (4.5 filled, shrimp was a little bland) and Bun Bo Xao Xa (B4) (5+, loved the meat and its sauciness, great portion). Neither were as vegetal as others I've had, which is what I loved about it. The dressing was also very simple and not fishy - I typically find the dressings too fishy for me. While the food was great, what stood out most was the service. I ordered take out, but upon seeing their great outdoor space, I decided to sit outside. The assumed owner brought me water and additional utensils without asking, and another employee checked on me upon returning from a delivery. I recommend this great, little local place! We ordered takeout for the first time from Pho 3 tonight. It took about 30 minutes from the time we called (a bit longer than estimated) but it was worth the wait! I had the Pho 3 with rare beef and meatballs. The broth was beefy and had the salty/sweet quality I've come to love. After adding some sriracha and hoisin sauce, I was in heaven! The portion was large, even for a small bowl, and the broth stayed hot the whole drive home. (Served separately as to avoid overcooking the rare beef). My boyfriend had the S16 Bun Rieu. The toppings--shrimp, crab, tofu, ham, meatball, and vermicelli--were tasty, but the broth was not his favorite. Had it been a tad beefier or spicer, he would've been all over it. We will likely stick to Pho next time we are craving a soup-based dinner. Regardless, the service was excellent, and we cannot wait to dine in once COVID begins to settle down. The siding room is run down and not clean. Fried rice was mushy and made with diced frozen corn/carrot/peas mix. Meat was incredibly dry. The cold summer rolls were pretty good but they couldn't redeem the experience. It's a shame; I really hoped this could be my new go-to. read more

Overview: Vietnamese restaurant featuring an assortment of traditional dishes. Food: I've been to Pho 3 several times now and have ordered take out. My favorite thing to order is the Wonton Noodle Soup. I'm not a huge fan of rice noodles and this dish is served with egg noodles. The egg noodles are the perfect consistency--just slightly chewy. I wish the wontons served in it were homemade but they're still pretty good. I also really enjoyed the Vietnamese Crispy Pancake. It was buttery, crispy, and a great way to start the meal. My husband particularly enjoys the Bun 3 Men, which comes with an egg roll and grilled pork, beef, and shrimp on top of vermicelli noodles. Recommend: Vietnamese Crispy Pancake Vermicelli Bowls Atmosphere: The restaurant is a decent size with a good amount of tables. There is at least one big table for larger groups. I have noticed some food items stored directly on the floor and some dust, but otherwise it seems fairly clean. Service: Dining in, service has been good and decently quick. The servers have always been very kind. For take-out, they have been extremely fast as well. Unfortunately, my most recent order of wonton noodles was given with rice noodles instead of egg noodles. When I called about it, I was told that was what I requested via the Yelp app. As the menu says it comes with egg noodles and I did nothing but select the pre-selected noodle style, I was quite annoyed. I have ordered this way before and received the egg noodles. The person I talked to about it only said it was my mistake and to choose the different noodle next time. (The noodle types are also listed in Vietnamese, which I do not speak). My lunch that day was the toppings and broth, everything else went in the trash. Also, I was only given one leaf of basil to add in. On a side note--you get WAY more rice noodles with your order than egg noodles, so if rice noodles are your thing, you'll get a lot! read more

First and foremost we love the Pho at this restaurant...especially my teenage son! He could literally eat it every single day! We have tried other Pho restaurants in the area and we always go back to this one. My sister travels the country for her job and has had Pho in many areas of the country and she always says how fun it is that we have Pho 3 Mein right here in Central PA, because it is just as good as some of the Pho restaurants she has tried in major metropolitan areas of the country! Probably my biggest reason for giving a 5 star review is their customer service is amazing! We had a mistake in a takeout order we placed online. I called the restaurant the girl I spoke on the phone was so kind and sincerely apologetic. I had asked if they could bring it to the house and they were unable at that time, but she called me back within a few minutes and said she found a staff member that was willing to bring the order out. These days it is hard to find good customer service and a business that is willing to go out of their way to correct a mistake! read more

This is a convenient location for me and I've been here a few times. Overall my experience has lacked with each visit. There's limited parking out front but you can park across the street and walk over. The inside looks clean and the staff is very friendly. I usually order steamed dumplings which have never failed to be the best part of our meal. However, most food comes out over cooked and sometimes burnt. The Bo Luc Lac was so over cooked with tough steak and Bun 3 Men has burnt shrimp that was so overdone I couldn't get it off the stick. After trying Pho at various different restaurants, Pho 3 Mein is one of my favorite. My husband had the Pho Dac Biet and I had the Pho Tai Bo Vein. Both very delicious with fresh ingredients, plenty of meat and noodles, Staff was so attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Pho 3 Mein has become a fast favorite of ours over the last year. We've never dined in, but the delivery/takeout has been phenomenal. Staff is friendly and efficient. Delivery quick. Food is packaged and presented nicely so that it arrives in perfect condition. Large orders are delivered in a box, convenient for carrying. Food is amazing, from appetizers to the bahn mi (sandwiches) to the pho (soup) to the bun (rice vermicelli dishes). We've loved all the dishes we've tried over the last year. Especially washing down with a yummy and refreshing creamy/sweet Thai iced tea. Even my picky-eater children love when we get take-out from Pho3Mein, they especially love the dumplings, egg rolls and the fried wontons (similar to a crab rangoon). My new favorite has been the bun thit nuong cha gio with the sweet/salty warm pork, cool rice noodles, crunch from the sprouts, cucumbers pickled carrots, add a little spice from jalapeño (if you choose), and the nuoc cham (sauce) is the perfect blend of sweet/sour/umami. It's just a quick stop off of 83, easy off and on. Ample parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. If dining-in would maybe suggest sitting towards the back of the restaurant (so lights from cars coming and going in parking lot aren't shining in front glass window at you).
