I have been at my current apartment for 14 years now and have never been able to find a Chinese restaurant as good as Great Wall. I've decided to go back and the food is still great. I used to go to this place a long time ago and became disappointed. I actually had to return my meal because it wasn't cooked all the way through. Was very difficult to go back after that experience. It's been a few years and I tried again... Just as disappointing. I ordered beef with broccoli. After opening my take-out order when I got home, this certainly doesn't look like beef - it looks more like chicken... Regardless The meal is completely tasteless and I'm just as disappointed as I was years ago. I spent $15 and can't finish it... Makes me a little nervous since I'm not sure what I'm actually eating. Stopped in here for the first time today and tried their all you can eat lunch buffet, which runs from 11am - 3pm. If you opt in for the lunch buffet, you have the choice of dining in or taking out, but you can't dine in then take out - this goes the same for the soda too. The selection of food isn't huge, but the food was decent. They had white and fried rice - honestly it looked more like yellow colored white rice to me, but it wasn't bad; fried chicken; vegetable lo mein; chicken and broccoli; beef and broccoli; egg rolls; potatoes, and maybe 2 or 3 more items. My overall meal was tasty - favorite dish being the lo mein, which I would definitely order in the future. For a total of $8.25, which includes tax and a drink, you can't really go wrong. read more

This is my usual place for Chinese take out. Yes, they only accept cash, but I've noticed that other Chinese take out places( like Bardonia Oriental) are switching over to cash only too. On weekdays till 3:30, The Great Wall has a small all you can eat buffet for only about $7 and change( which includes soda with free refills too). It's small, maybe about 10-12 items, but they have my favorites like chicken and broccoli, general Taos chicken, Lo main, and more. The owners always make sure that there is enough food at the buffet and constantly ask if you need anything. For the price it's totally worth it! As for when I usually take out from here, I've never had any problems. I'll usually call ahead to pick up food and it's always been ready on time and always tasty. This place also delivers and again, I've never had any issues. They are always on time, food arrives hot, and the delivery guy is always polite. The prices for Chinese food at the Great Wall is standard like any other Chinese place. The food is yummy and the people who work there are nice. The buffet is great if you're hungry but don't want to deal with too many options and are on a budget. Will def be back and would recommend this place to friends. read more

A very mediocre take-out place. This genre of Chinese eatery is quite straightforward; we've all been to these types of places, and they're all hit or miss. And some dishes are good, some are not. If I were to evaluate this place on a Monopoly board game spectrum, I'd call it Mediterranean/Baltic food at Ventnor/Marvins Gardens prices. The chicken fried rice was quite forgettable and underwhelming in particular. It's basically just white rice with yellow dye, and a few pieces of bland chicken mixed in. Absolutely nothing else, not even grease from the wok. No vegetables, no taste. I've given this place a few chances for take out, and will not be back. There are plenty of other better Chinese takeout places within a few miles of the Great [sic] Wall, and priced slightly more reasonably. One thing I will say is that their lunch buffet is worth a try. The food is, overall, quite average, but the point is you have a few things to choose from -- so even if only one of the five offerings are good, you'll at least salvage a decent lunch experience. read more

Great low cost FAMILY owned, funky, safe Chinese joint, better than most of this kind. The $7. lunch buffet is the best economy lunch in the county.
