Great West Asphalt Paving Reno came to my home last summer and made us an offer to pave our driveway. They did a great job and we planned to have them come back to seal the asphalt in the future as is the standard protocol. However, I am now fed up with the constant bombardment of having them stop by my house repeatedly asking to do it. A young man came by a few weeks ago and knocked on my door (I believe his name is Henry). When I did not answer he rang the doorbell. When I came and answered the door, we spoke briefly and I explained that I was busy working from home. He was very polite and I asked for his business card and said I would speak with my husband later and get back to him to schedule a time to have them come back. We had every intention of hiring them again to seal the asphalt! I go back to my desk to work and after a little while I hear another repeated HARD knock on the door. Startled, and in the middle of working, I get back up and answer the door to see him there again. I then tell him the same thing "I work from home, you are interrupting me and I said I have your business care and I will call call you later - thank you". He came back TWO MORE TIMES THAT SAME DAY!!! I finally said, "you are losing my business." A few weeks go by and today he came back again and knocked several times. I had to step away from an important international zoom meeting with clients after repeated knocking at my front door. I said "Henry, I am in a meeting" and then closed the door and went back to work. A couple hours later, he is back knocking. At this point I feel disrespected and very irritated. I would have hired them, but my husband and I are now so annoyed that we do not want to give them our business. He is honestly VERY lucky my husband wasn't home as he is a lot less patient than I am. Living up in the mountains of Kingsbury Grade, our roads and driveways take a beating from the snow, sun and vehicles. NDOT and our own local KGID seal, strip and repave our roads. Sometimes I'd wonder if they'd do my driveway as they're on the same road ... But I'm up here applying a seal coating to my driveway every couple of years. Year after year, I'm patching cracks, cutting back grass, and try to hold back time. This year was different! The folks from GW Asphalt swung on by laid out what they would lay out, a new asphalt driveway for my 90' long piece of blacktop. In one day. By 10A rolls around and their team comes by and begin the prep work. And 2P they had completed the job. The next day, I rolled the vehicles back onto the driveway and checked out the work. We're talking bevelled edges, nice and consistent lines and from the concrete garage floor all the way to the street. Those bumps because of roots? The stupid grass that had grown to the edge and into the drive over the years? FIXED! This is a nice epic new driveway. The wife took a look and said it looked like it was out of a picture. I could not be more pleased with great West! I had needed residential paving for quite a while but have had poor experiences with prior contractors even coming out to the house. I lucked out because they were paving up the street, I poked my head out of my car and ask them if I could get a bid, and someone literally came right away. Matthew Daily called our company today to see if we were interested in left over asphalt. We had him come by to take a look at the business and see if they have enough to cover the area we would be interested in paving. We came to an agreement on the price and area then he said he will go have his team come by today to do the job. After speaking with our partners and neighbors who share a driveway, we decided this wasn't something we wanted to move forward with, mainly because it was an unnecessary cost at the moment, and also if we were to have asphalt put down then we would have the entire driveway, parking lot, and dock done at the same time. We called him back to inform him of our decision and he told my manager that he would tell everyone that we are pieces of s**t. What a great way to handle business. I am so excited to be able to write a review for this incredible company! My disabled father has been so worried about winter coming and the state of his driveway this year. He lives in a rural town in Northwest CA. He had gotten several bids previously, but paving companies know they can up charge due to his location. To his pleasant surprise his door rang yesterday. We were outside in our driveway and Ted stopped by to address our asphalt parking area that has been crumbling for years. We've had lots of people stop by and offer to fix it, but these guys are licensed, and took us over to show a job they had just finished. They showed up with 14 guys and a semi with about 6 machines, and an active supervisor. They were amazingly professional, and had approx. 900 sq ft completely finished in about 2 hrs. Some guy from this place dropped in to my work without an appointment demanding to speak to the maintenance staff. Since the maintenance staff was out of the building I spoke to him, since I oversee the business. He asked about the parking lot of the business, and knowing that the business does need some Asphalt replacement, told him to go ahead and give me an estimate. He left the estimate on my desk. Then followed up with an e mail. I reviewed the estimate and found it to be significantly higher than others we have gotten in the past, so didn't bother to respond to his e mail. He then called me later in the day asking about it so I was honest and told him that it was higher than the other estimates. He then became angry stating that the estimate was not high and something about the company's inability to afford it. Then stated I should fire my maintenance director for the condition of the parking lot (uh, the parking lot is over 30 years old, and my maintenance director is not responsible, nor able to do such a repair which is why I permitted him to give me an estimate. I knew that when we had it done, it would need to contracted out). Then he states, "thanks for wasting my time" and hung up! Excuse me sir, YOU walked into MY business unannounced and without an appointment and I gave you an opportunity to earn my business and you're blaming ME for wasting YOUR time?! In mid October I was referred to Great West as my residential driveway needed an overlay I immediately called Ted. Literally within 20 minutes he came by and surveyed the driveway and gave me a price which was very, very good. That same day he sent out a crew to do the initial saw cuts around the driveway entrance and garage doors. The next morning he sent his crew over and they installed the driveway overlay (2") within a few hours. The crew was very efficient and cleaned up before they left. About two days later I noticed that one of the landscape irrigation lines had been inadvertently cut. As soon as I noticed I called Ted again and he sent a crew over to make a cut directly adjacent to the sidewalk and with the removal of the asphalt I was able to patch the line. Two days later just as promised, the crew came by and patched the small trench covering the line. I found Great West to provide great service and excellent work with very impressive follow-up and would not hesitate to call them again or make referrals. read more

I would not never recommend this company to any one. They came to my house asking for my business and gave me a quote on my circular driveway because they were in the neighborhood. We accepted. They finished in no time. I thought great till I looked at it real close. Rough uneven edges and nothing was the same in thickness. I then talked to the neighbor down the street and they were charged almost half then what we were charged. Then a week later the problems started. Grass growing through the asphalt,cracks,and bumps everywhere. My husband saw them uptown and talked to them about coming over to look at it and they said yes no problem and never showed up. Now they are ignoring are messages. Its been 2 months since the works been done so I hate to see what are driveway looks like in 2 more months. Also my sister in law works for the Nye county assessor's office here in Pahrump and she informed me there is an asphalt company out here from Las Vegas that has been warned to stay away because they have been out here doing horrible work and overcharging.
