When we were looking for a place to take my 18 month kid during vacation we heard from friends about this place. Actually I heard about this place from numerous friends and strangers that this was the place to go. So we went online booked a room and off we were. First I will say this we found out that every Wolf Lodge is unique and a little different. So if you have seen one you really have not seen all of them. Second the lifeguards on staff are very attentive and always looking. You will not see them talking or chatting with anyone. They are constantly staring and scanning which is great! Third this place really has it all for children from indoor bowling, face painting, pools and slides (even for the tiniest ones) to much more. There is quest adventures which are included in various packages and trust me you will want them. The food here is not bad I would say average but there is also plenty of food selections very close to this specific lodge. I WILL definitely be returning here again which is great for someone that has young children! read more

DON'T BOOK THROUGH GROUPON! I purchased the Groupon voucher for a family vacation during Spring break.  This would have been our first time visiting the lodge. Everyone was looking forward to the stay. Well, when two of my children grew ill, I called and spoke with Groupon and the Lodge to see if we could cancel. The representative told us yes over the phone. Days later we received an email from Groupon stating we were not getting our money back because we were deemed a "no show".  I reminded them that per our recorded phone conversation, we didn't show up because they were supposed to have processed a cancellation.  After many emails and a certified letter asking them to honor their recorded agreement to cancel the reservation and refund us the money, they stopped communicating. They would not even issue a credit of the money we already paid to them towards another package. The corporate office was very rude and responded by calling me a liar and refuses to issue reimbursement as they initially said they would. Buyer beware because they do not value the customer or honor their agreements. So disappointed in Groupon's travel department and the way they conduct business. read more

Brought my daughter here for her 7th birthday. Great place. Not sure if it earns resort status though. It has more attractions than a hotel by far. I don't think I could stay more than 2 days. The water park is great. Lots to keep the small kids entertained. The food is expensive, but there are tons of options surrounding the place. My daughter loved it. The large water slides are fantastic. The life guards are very vigilant. We had a room with the bunk beds and tv separate from ours by a wall. My daughter loved her own space, and we appreciated the extra privacy. read more

I booked the most basic room (2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa) on Groupon for a great rate to stay for two nights. We had two adults and 4 kids + an infant total. Upon arrival, we asked if any room upgrades were available. We were able to upgrade to a themed room for $30/night. Great deal, and they did tell us that there were only 3 bunks available, since we had 4 kids. This was okay, as my youngest sleeps with me anyway. When we got to the room, we realized that because we got the cool kids bunks, we lost a queen bed. I was irked that we weren't told this, but thought it was worth the sacrifice, until we opened the sofa bed. It was completely inverted- the head was MUCH lower than the feet! We slept at the foot of the bed, but it was still incredibly uneven and uncomfortable. The next morning, I went to take a shower and found a moldy/mildew covered curtain. I went down to the front desk, and she sent maintenance up to look at the bed. Housekeeping promptly brought me a new shower curtain. However, maintenance was incredibly rude. They told me that the sofa beds being inverted was "normal" and I either have to prop up pillows under the head or sleep on the other side. I was about to buy an air mattress as the sofa bed was NOT a proper substitute for a bed in that condition. So, my sister & I went back to the front desk. Tammy was SO accommodating. She upgraded us to a premium suite for our next night at no cost, AND gave us a voucher for breakfast the next morning. We were so so impressed with her desire to improve our situation and experience. When we got to our new room, the deadbolt was broken in a way that it prevented the door from being closed all the way. Maintenance was very quick to come up and install a new one so that we could close the door properly. That night, we also experienced a mishap/miscommunication at a quick-service restaurant in the waterpark, and were given a free ice cream bucket. I can not say enough about the level of customer service at this location, and we will definitely be returning! read more

It is never easy to find safe places to go to when someone in your family has food allergies. Great Wolf Lodge goes above and beyond in regards to allergies. Heard about this place for a while and decided to give it a try during the colder months since I don't see a great need to go to an indoor place when it's hot outside. It's a little pricey, but it does include the waterpark admission, so that makes it a little easier to swallow. Also, it's all for the kids anyway, so you just gotta do it. When we got there so many cars were there, it made us worry, but it wasn't too bad inside. The front lobby is a little cramped for handling crowds of people checking in at once and moving their things in. But part of this was due to the Christmas setup which took up a lot of space. Make sure to do the mobile check-in to make things a little quicker. Like others have mentioned, the rooms are smallish, especially for the price. But they are clean and well kept. Kids love the waterpark. I thought there would be more slides, but no complaints from the kids. We skipped the buffet because it was extra pricey for the holidays. There is a wealth of places to eat within 5 minutes around the lodge. I would say it's definitely worth the experience. I don't think I would go back again to the same place, but I would probably try a different location just to check it out. Or maybe if I had a better job... haha. read more

We love great wolf lodge vacations, but the end of our visit this time was more than disappointing. We asked for a late check out and while we were out of the room for lunch, someone came in and started cleaning our room, realized we had a late check out and left. However, they left our room unlocked and all of our valuables were in the room. They didn't seem to care and even said it never would have been left open. They left the room with no sheets and pillows all over the floor, so there was nowhere to rest, they threw my pillowcase from home in the laundry and threw out the entire bag of candy my son won in the arcade (which was devastating for him as he has some processing issues). When I brought it to their attention, they did nothing, and I wasn't even reimbursed the late check out fee. We were so disappointed... read more

The kids and I went for a short weekend outing to visit the great Wolf Lodge of concord nc the staff was VERy accommodating and very well trained they did a very good job very very friendly from the water engineer to the cleaning ladies there is nothing that my children or I could have asked that they couldn't answer and there was nothing that we could complain about it is definitely a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyone's daily schedule and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good time the water slides were very fun and there were many other water activities for kids and adult of all ages and the food is great if your looking fine dining or just a quick snack they have just what your looking for and if water isn't your thing they have a fun arcade, they also have a spa,bowling and a magical dragons n game where you can be a wizard. And the rooms are always clean and always stacked with towels, soaps and more. And on top of all the fun the fire alarm went off we were walking out to leave it seemed to have been handled very professionally with managers and twice way radios in the Park no lot to handle traffic flow. If I did have anything to complain about if your in the third or fourth floor court area there is a lot of dust on the ledges and statues. read more

Had a few problems with this place. We were treated very rude by the workers at the arcades, we had a pair of new nikes sports slippers stolen and when reported the theft we were brushed off and told to keep calling the lost and found...why when the slippers were stolen.. We were suppose to get a 25.00 dinner credit with the groupons deal but did not receive it and when I complained they told me they took it off the dinner bill but my receipt does not show it and shows the exact prices of the meals we ordered. After all that we checked out a day early and was told we will get a refund for the day we did not use but that's a big lie also, as there was no refund but just room charges on out debit card plus at checkout they refused to give me a statement and told me it will be sent to my email, but next day I had to call them and demand a copy of the bill. We will NEVER go there again and suggest others who decide to visit that place to Watch Out! read more

We have two three year olds and a 12 yr old they were none stop energy from the moment we arrived for our three night stay. We purchased pup passes for three yr olds and a wolf pass for 12 yr old which turned out to be a great thing for a three night stay. We swam from morning to dinner ate at Resturant buffet ( which was ok food and priced ok service was really good and friendly) nice not to have to leave property. Magi quest ( didn't know if the little ones would be able to do it but once we saw the words magic wand it didn't matter, we knew they would cry ever time they saw brothers or anyone else's) all three had a ball with them zapping everything in game or not. Lol. We will stay again many more times. We all are already planning it read more

Manager Theresa Mintz treated me like trash during my recent stay. I have stayed at this GWL as well as the one in Williamsburg, VA prior to the stay that earned my experience here a one-star rating. I could not have been more disappointed in the way that my family and I were treated. All other GWL employees were amazing, but Theresa Mintz was unkind, unprofessional, dishonest, and downright rude. We checked in on Sunday, May 15 and planned to stay until May 17. My husband, my two young children, and I were excited for a fun family vacation and had always had wonderful a wonderful time at Great Wolf in the past. We did a lot of different activities throughout the resort. All of the employees were wonderful and helpful, with the exception of Theresa Mintz. We had no problems until the third night. We ended up adding on a night so that we could stay until May 18. It was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. A large school group checked into the resort on May 17 and the noise level in the resort became an issue that night. I contacted the front desk multiple times and complained and nothing was done. My young children were awakened repeatedly and there was nothing that I could do other than try to get them back to sleep. This became physically and mentally tiring and I went to the front desk and spoke to Theresa Mintz in person. She assured me that the noise would be taken care of and apologized for my having to leave my room to deal with the issue. That was the beginning and end of her being pleasant and helpful. Theresa asked me to return to my room and assured me that all would be well. She said that she would speak to the security guard. I told Theresa that I would like to speak with the security guard as well to let him know what was going on. Theresa became visibly irritated by my request but I calmly explained to the security guard my issue with the noise level on my hall. At this time,Theresa returned to the front desk and the security guard went up to the area where I was staying. Some students in the large school group and a chaperone were in the hall and I began talking to the chaperone and explain that the students were keeping my children awake. The security guard never spoke to the chaperone or to the students. He waited for me to finish my conversation with the chaperone and left. The chaperone knocked on the door next to mine and asked the students to be quiet. He also gave me his phone number. I thought the issue was dealt with and I looked forward to a peaceful night of sleep for my children. I was very wrong. The students in the room next to mine continued to be loud for most of the night and my children were awakened several more times. I had to call the chaperone for his intervention. I called the front desk for help, but no one ever came back upstairs and no one was able to quiet the loud student occupants in the room next to mine. It was a long night. The morning of May 18 I went downstairs to talk to a manager about my prior night's difficulties and I was "greeted" by Theresa Mintz. She rolled her eyes when she saw me walking toward the front desk. I told her what happened the evening prior and her only response was "I'm sorry we failed you," delivered complete with a snarky, snotty tone. I was so surprised to hear her speak to me this way because, before I encountered Theresa, my interactions with GWL employees had all been positive. Theresa offered me a refund of my prior night's stay as well as everything that was charged to my room. This should have been over $400. So far I have received half of that and more than two months have passed. Theresa only noted on my account that she was willing to refund me that night's stay. So now I am having to fight the lodge for the full reimbursement that she offered me verbally. Additionally, Theresa accused me of taking pictures of the students from the student group that had been too loud the prior night when I was taking a picture of the lobby. She came up to me and seemed eager to potentially catch me doing something wrong. When I showed her the picture that I took, showing the lobby and no identifiable children, she seemed upset that I was not "caught in the act." Theresa Mintz's treatment of me and my family and her poor handling of my complaint has ensured that I will never return to this resort. I will happily take my business elsewhere to avoid the issues I faced on this stay and am still dealing with. I am not one to write negative reviews, but after learning that I was not given the full refund that I was promised I am just so totally done and no longer care. It is so sad that a member of the management team at GWL Concord is the ONLY employee at a GWL resort who has ever treated me poorly and behaved ineffectively and unprofessionally. I am still working on the other part of the refund I was promised by Theresa. Wish me luck. read more

Our first trip to GWL was a few weeks ago, and we experienced exceptional customer service. So, we decided to go back last week since we had such a great time the first time around. This time, we only planned to stay for one night. On our day of arrival, we decided to stay at the waterpark for an hour, then have dinner and hit the arcade before bed. We planned to spend the next day (our day of departure) at the waterpark to make the most of it. My daughter was in the kiddie pool for about 45 minutes when it was shut down- and a staff member was seen scooping "things" out. We spent a few minutes in the wave pool, and then left, excited to return the next day. Instead, she woke up with horrendous pink eye the next morning. Rather than spending the day at the waterpark, we had to drive straight home to the doctor. Super disappointed that our trip was cut short and ruined from a lack of cleanliness on someone else's part (or a lack of enforcement of swim diapers on GWL staff's part). All that time and money for an hour of swim time and a bit of arcade play that could have been done anywhere. read more

We just completed a 1 night stay with our two boys. While our kids had a great time, my reasoning for only 2 stars starts with price. This place is ridiculous. When you pay over $500 for one night, you expect the best of the best. If it was half the price, GW would get 5 stars. While of course you get the room and water park included, there are no, let me repeat, no other amenities. When checking in, be prepared for the immediate up-sell from the front desk to get you to add packages like magic quest, 4D theater, etc. Food is mediocre at best, and ridiculously expensive. We waited in line for 40 mins and paid over $50 for two plain hot dogs, 1 large order of fries, 1 ice cream cup, 1 Small Caesar salad and 2 beers. The trash cans in the water park area were overflowing. If we ever do this again (which is unlikely) we would only go during the week, and if we found an amazing deal. The quality of the hotel itself would be worth about $79/night if there wasn't a water park. This is one of those places where as a parent, you have to be in the all-in mindset that it is what it is (which thankfully we were, therefore had a great time with the kids) or else the little things like the lukewarm water in shower, dated rooms, no complimentary ANYTHING, terrible food, long waits, and inability to EVER reach a live person by phone, would be extremely irritating. read more

Our family had such a great time here. I was amazed with how interactive the lifeguards were here. Our children had a blast. Yes it can be pricey, depending on if you wish to spend extra in gift shop or other areas, but we brought our own beverages, breakfast, and snacks so that was really not an issue. The only reason I don't give them five stars is because the bed for my husband and I was so uncomfortable, my back and neck hurt the next day. Also, the shower tiles were moldy in our room, and our room stunk when walking in. It looked clean other than the shower. Overall, I'd take the uncomfortable sleep any day to keep those big smiles on my children's faces!! My husband was a giddy child over the water slides, so even that was priceless! The staff was all super nice, it did not take long at all to be checked in (on Wednesday weekday) and also called our phone shortly after letting us know the room was available. Very pleased with the staff and water park! Yes, even at midnight (thinking wifi would be better then) the wifi stinks! But we were so worn out, it didn't bother me too much. read more

Great wolf is a very exciting place to go with your family. Great wolf great thing like their hotel rooms and their water park and their restaurants. The hotel rooms are very comfortable. they have big queen e beds it feels like I'm laying on a huge cloud. The rugs feels so good on your feet. They have a nice view out the window, you can see all of the stores. The hotel room didn't have a nice TV and the remote control didn't work. It was four of us and we were in a small hotel room, it was very small for me and my family. Their water park was so wonderful. The water park has 4 huge slides. The park was so packed,it was too many people trying to do the same thing at the same time. When I got on the water slide it was so amazing, it lasts for a long time. The slide seems like its taking you to another planet, it was so colorful in the slide and then it will get dark. I loved the water slides but it took me 15 minutes to get on one slide. Their game room was so fun, we was play the machines and winning tickets, but one machine didn't give us no tickets. The line in there was very long. The food in restaurants were so tasty. Me and my family went to a buffet. The chicken was good but it was kinda hard. The waitress their were nice, she kept coming to my table asking if everything was okay and we had a very nice conversation.Great wolf a very nice place to take a vacation with your family. read more

My husband came home from Afghanistan for only ten days mid-deployment, I decided to take him and out two daughters (age 7&2) as a surprise Father's Day gift. We couldn't be more excited, I stood in line for 40 minutes just to check in :-/ but there was a TON of people in line. They gave us wristbands that double as a key to our room (room 1702 I believe) and we went down to the water park and had a BLAST, the arcade and then ten paw alley and wrapped it up with dinner on site. My girls wanted to attend story time in the main lobby but the location plus the amount of people made it impossible to see or hear anything and we eventually just left before we got trampled by the visitors that were trying to check in. We were still having an awesome time until we arrived back at our room EXHAUSTED and wanted to crash so we could get up early and go at it again the next day. The free wi-fi was very slow as well. This is where things went horribly wrong for us. Apparently our room was located right next to an exit door, and a magic quest check point, all night long this door banged and banged and banged, I called down to guest services around 11pm because I was seriously about to loose my mind but I couldn't get anyone on the phone. The banging of this swinging door continued all night. We may have slept three hours total. Needless to say the next morning we were in no condition to go play, we just wanted to sleep. We called guest services who informed us that they knew about the door and it has happened before to guests in that room and we could pay $70 to extend our check out time a few hours (we had a 3 hour drive home) my husband was livid, they said they were aware of the door being a problem in the past however they would charge us to try and at least get a couple hours rest, due to lack of sleep from a problem that had already been brought to the attention of the staff and would be an easy fix by maybe putting a shock absorber on the door. We were both too tired to take the kids to play so, the last day there they didn't get to do anything. We spent $1300 total and wasted precious time with my husband that we won't get back and it left a pretty awful taste in my mouth for the future. On our way out we wanted to pick up some souvenirs for the kids and after two days of telling them to just wait, we promise to get your souvenir gifts on the way out... 30 mins of picking out gifts in the gift shop, we are informed we can't purchase our items because the credit card system is down. Fantastic. Had I known all of these unfortunate incidents would occur, our family would have just stayed home, then at least we wouldn't have a 3 hour car ride home as a sleepy, grumpy family. read more

This was our 3rd trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. We had a wonderful experience the first 2 visits but this trip was TERRIBLE! Check in was easy and the front desk staff was wonderful and very friendly. Our room was clean and exactly what we had expected from our previous visits. The water park was great...as always!! Our room was on the 4th floor close to the elevators and Magic Quest game so it was VERY noisy throughout the night. Doors slamming and kids screaming made it hard to get any sleep but I guess the short walk to the water park was a trade off for the noise. The terrible events start at check out. After we checked out, we were driving on the highway and my daughter asked for her Ipod Touch. It was then I remembered we had locked in the room safe the previous evening and never took it out. I immediately called Great Wolf and was basically told there was nothing they could do but they would call me back. At this point, I'm mildly upset. I had just purchased the (quite expensive) Ipod for my daughter's birthday less than 2 weeks before our visit. So, I went to my sister's house (20 minutes from Great Wolf) and stayed the night hoping to hear some news about the missing Ipod. I received an email from security at 11:37pm that evening saying that the staff had found some personal items left in my room. I was so sure that it was our missing Ipod, I drove back to the hotel the following morning. Guess what? The man from security brought me a pair of boy's pants and a phone charger. And the kicker...they weren't even ours!! Needless to say, now I am EXTREMELY upset. I was told that only security can get into the room safe so apparently their security department consists of some thieves. Not to mention, they are also pretty unreliable! Bringing me someone else's lost belongings!! I have since filed a police report and informed them of this. I haven't heard from them since. I will not be letting this go if I have to put bad reviews on every website I can find. BE CAREFUL with your belongings at Great Wolf. Even security won't be able to guarantee your personal items are safe!!!!!! read more
