Pool has obviously been closed a long time, filled with debris and in need of extensive repairs. Docks are broken and unusable. Outdoor furniture is dirty and many are broken. Netflix not working. Cleaning is minimal. This is a shame because this it is a beautiful spot on the lake. read more

Stay away from this place. The management is rude and dishonest and it should not be called a resort. I paid $434 for a double room to accommodate myself and four friends for my birthday. The main attraction was the swimming pool shown on Hotels.com's description of Long Cove. We got there only to discover that the pool is still under construction. When I complained about the false advertising, the gentleman at the desk rudely said that he can give me a refund and we can find somewhere else to stay. With three friends on their way in separate cars, I wasn't able to change plans and begrudgingly signed the contract. I was given a parking tag indicating it should be visible in the car or else it would be towed. I asked for two more parking tags, for two friends who were on their way. A third was stopping by for an hour only and so I didn't bother to ask for a tag for her. I figured it was for overnight guests. She arrived late and after a hour went to leave, but her car was impounded. It was too late to reach the towing company, so she used my car to get home. I discovered that it was Long Cove's management that called the towing company. I understand the need to secure the area from non-paying visitors, but the only people who were penalized were paying guests (another guest had his car locked). It was impossible to reach anyone from management as the place is deserted of staff once the office closes at 6pm. This ruined the evening for my party and so we left early in the morning. The place is badly managed and resembles a trailer park and is in no way a resort. I spoke to the management company RedAwning (which reimbursed me $65 for the lack of a pool), as well as Hotels.com whose virtual agent called Long Cove. The manager outright lied in order to avoid granting us a refund. The most blatant lie was that my friend was asked to pay $10 parking but she refused and so her car was towed. She was never approached by anyone to pay for parking. There is no security guard or anyone else monitoring the parking lot. I wish that there was an attendant to help guests make their experience more pleasant. It would have saved my friend the expense of getting her car back for the outrages amount of $445. My friend filed a complaint with the DOJ Consumer Affairs Division and Long Cove's management replied with insults and outright lies, including that I was offered another parking tag at check in but refused it. They falsely claimed that my guest was a visitor and referred to her as "riff raff." They were able to get my honest review on hotels.com removed, so I am concerned that people will be misled by only great reviews that seem to be professionally written by their management company (note the professional photos). read more

I'd really consider this a hidden gem in the Lake Wylie area. I searched high and low online for places near water where I could celebrate my birthday. When I came across Long Cove, I'll admit I was weary because of the reviews. Well, no other places were available except for Long Cove, so I booked anyway and now I'm hooked! A couple days before my reservation I went to check out the grounds, and Don was very kind in giving us a tour of the property and our actual cabin. Then the day of the rental check in was smooth as everything was already set. My kids set up their inflatable raft and took it out on the beach/lake and had a blast. We had cabin #14 so it was nestled right where the trail is for the beach access, and easy to see what the kids were doing. This particular cabin has 2 porches. One has rocking chairs and long bench seating, and the other porch is large and has a large table for outdoor dining as well. I did bring an additional table to set up food for my guests. Around sunset we walked out to the dock's side where we were able to get great sunset lake views while gathering for my happy birthday cake. Don was extremely helpful in getting us everything we needed for roasting s'mores at the fire pit that night. Too much more to rave about, but this place exceeded my expectations and we definitely plan to return. Having my birthday celebration here was and amazing blessing and extremely worth it, especially with having given my life to Jesus the week prior, and being able to be on the lake. I can't wait to see the plans in store for Long Cove, even though it's great for what it is right now. Thank you soooo much Don and the rest of staff, y'all are appreciated! read more

WARNING!!! Do NOT book with this "resort???" I question resort.They are ONLY about taking your hard earned money; at any cost. I tried to cancel due to COVID and they refused to reimburse me. Not only was I unable to drive there, but I certainly didn't want to infect other guest or staff.(including ones who would be booking my space after me). I came to the Fuego festival event in the summer here. It's a nice spot! They have chairs with built-in drink cups facing the lake. They have a mini gazebo and two chairs inside. We also have picnic tables and grills. There's also a beach area. If you're looking for a little bit of R&R, this is a place in the area to drive to to get that. Just be mindful that the resort is at the very end. As soon as you drive onto Rainbarrel road, there's a ways to go just keep driving straight until you reach the parking spaces. read more

AN UNSAFE RESORT: My partner and I recently stayed at Long Cove Resort for a three-day trip, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster. Until this stay, I had never had to worry about my personal safety at a resort in this price range. As you'll see from our experience, however, if a hotel emergency happens after 5pm, you're on your own at the end of a long dirt road with absolutely nobody to help or assist. The Water Crisis: After returning from a wedding and seriously in need of the bathroom, my partner and I discovered that our cabin had no running water. No toilet, no shower, no sink. My partner was on her period, needed the bathroom, yet there was no working bathroom either in our room or anywhere on site. To make matters worse, there was no running water anywhere on the property; other members of the wedding party staying at the resort faced the same issue, and my understanding is that the entire resort was without water. Lack of Management: There was no management on site despite the seriousness of this situation. I promptly called the management, who assured me that a service person would be dispatched. After an hour and no word, and still nobody around, my second call to management went straight to voicemail. As if running water wasn't enough of an issue to bother management, at the same time there were police on the scene of the property due to a physical altercation. Yet, the entire time, there was nobody around. Poor Communication: I received no communication from the management until 1:40 AM, when management began texting me to make vague reassurances. Due to the severity of the situation, I had no choice but to book another hotel just to have access to running water. Unprofessional Behavior: While the management did agree via text to refund us for the final night, their subsequent emails were unprofessional and aggressive. Texts I received from management included "I want the venue name and the wedding party. They will be blacklisted from our property" and "You doing this with criminal intent and fraud" These were not only inappropriate but also accusatory and without basis. In the included screenshot, you'll see one of many inappropriate responses to my request for a refund. Conclusion: I have yet to receive any communication regarding the situation or the promised refund, aside from a string of threatening text messages. I strongly advise against staying at Long Cove Resort. Their lack of professionalism, poor management, lack of concern for guest safety, and failure to provide basic amenities like running water make it a place to avoid at all costs. read more

Truly one of the most horrifying and harrowing experiences I've ever had... Overall, this property is UNSAFE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I stayed here for what should've been 3 nights but ended up being 2. I returned to my cabin at around midnight after a long day and found there was absolutely no running water. Nothing in the sink, nothing in the shower, no ability to flush the toilet. My partner and I promptly called management who told us that they would send someone. They also asked us "why there were police on site." We did not know why because we had just returned, but it was extremely ALARMING that management had no idea why there was POLICE on the premises. We waited about an hour even though we desperately needed the bathroom, and there was NO OTHER WORKING BATHROOM on the premises. Additionally, there was NO PERSONNEL on the premises. We called back and the call went straight to voicemail. I was part of a group, and other guests also received nothing from management. Finally, at 1:40 am my partner received a text message saying they were working on it We continued to wait, but after hearing nothing, my partner decided to look around the property. There were two repairmen on site, but again, NO ONE FROM MANAGEMENT. We had no idea when the water would come back. I was having a medical issue, therefore, we had to book a different hotel just to have access to running water (mind you this is the middle of the night and most businesses were closed). We informed the Long Cove representative over text that night, and they apologized and told us to email their operations the next morning to get it "handled." We emailed the following day asking for a refund for the night we were not able to use, and we received no response. My partner tried texting the number again and was met with HOSTILITY, PERSONAL ATTACKS, and THREATS. My partner kept reiterating that we would like a refund because we had no running water and no alternatives. We told management that we wanted a fair and fast resolution and that we, and other affected guests, intended to share our poor experience. All management offered us was another night stay in winter, which we would never use. We continued to hold firm in our position that we wanted a refund for the night we were not able to use. In response, management asked for the names of the people who would write reviews and said we would be "blacklisted" from the property. Additionally, when we reiterated we wanted a refund for a night WE COULD NOT USE, they wrote threatening messages, including that we were "extorting" them and that "karma" would get us. They also told us they were not responsible for a natural disaster, and while that may be true in theory, they are required, BY LAW, to have some means of running water on their premises. Their failure to dispatch someone from management, inform us of the situation, and their refusal to refund us for a night wherein the hotel was UNINHABITABLE, is extremely egregious. Overall this is an extremely shady business that is using INTIMIDATION and other means to avoid refunding guests who had no running water and no alternatives for eleven hours. read more

If I could go with zero stars, I would! This place used to be great in the past, but ownership has shifted over to a new company. NOW it's nothing but a rip off. They sold annual memberships in February for $275/family. They said the pool would be open by May. It's now the end of August and the pool still isn't open. They don't answer the phone when you call and it doesn't even have voicemail so you can leave a message. The contact form on the website doesn't work. When you go in person to ask for a refund, they tell you they can't do anything and you have to speak to a manager, who isn't there. This situation has gotten ridiculous. I even filed a complaint with the BBB and they won't work with them to resolve it either. Don't waste your money! read more

TL:DR: DO NOT STAY HERE. Management is incompetent and willing to put their guests at risk. This was a deeply disappointing experience, largely due to the pathetic management response to a power outage that fried the water pumps. I stayed here with two other adults over a weekend for a wedding in the area, and upon returning from the wedding late in the evening, discovered that the water was not working in my cabin--no running water at all. Not in the sink, the shower, or even the toilet. I called management when we found out that the water was not working, and was told it would be fixed in 30 minutes. It was quite late at this point, and we went to bed after doing our best to clean ourselves up, assuming the management would follow through and the water would be back in the morning. IT WAS NOT. Nope. Nada. ZIP. With three people sharing an unflushable toilet, unable to wash their hands, the situation in the bathroom quickly became unhygienic and untenable. My partner purchased water from the grocery store so we could at least wash our hands and brush our teeth. I heard nothing else from management, and we checked out as soon as we could in the morning. I emailed management as soon as I got home, asking politely for a refund for the night the water was out. They offered me a free night's stay in an email addressed to someone else (so clearly copy and pasted), and never replied to my follow-up email reiterating my request for a refund. Running water is a basic component of a habitable space, and I'm really disappointed that management failed to uphold their end of the contractual obligation to provide sanitary facilities. They have failed to communicate, failed to provide alternate water sources when the water was out for ELEVEN HOURS, and are now trying to make it sound as if they're not responsible for any of this. They're certainly not responsible for a lightning strike, but they are responsible for responding to it in a way that enables their guests to maintain basic hygiene. read more

Long Cove Resort is a glamping community located on an old campground that has been converted to a great space that includes a very nice pool, super cute bathhouse, new community cookout patio, beach area and 15+ glampers. There is also a marina on site that rents boats (15% discount). The glamper we stayed in was new and a perfect layout. The master room had a comfortable mattress. The mattresses in the bunk beds and fouton weren't great. The bathroom linens were thick. The sheets were standard. The decor was super cute and comfortable. The upstairs loft was perfect for the whole group to play cards in. I suggest bringing extra plastic silverware and plates just to be safe. Air conditioner worked perfectly....we were very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend staying in the glampers at Long Cove Resort. There are a few different sizes so be sure to check the listing details to get the best one for your group. They will soon start renting 2br glampers. Also note the resort is close to restaurants, grocery stores, shopping outlets and also the Whitewater Center! read more

The location is what this "resort" has going for it. The lakeside views are nice and the sandy beach is pleasant. There were places to rent boats/kayaks conveniently nearby. I expect that all of these things will also be present at many of the other air BnB listings nearby, however. One of the biggest issues was the shower in our cabin. We were having trouble getting the hot water to last longer than 20 seconds (no exaggeration) and so we couldn't really get showered off at all. We called maintenance and the guy who came was nice and he did something to the showerhead that helped some. He also mentioned that the hot water tank was only 1.5 gallons. This is extremely small and made it difficult for my family to get showers. The road out to the cabins is in extreme disrepair. Hope you've got good shocks on your vehicle. Also, we were under the impression that our cabin would have a stove and grilling tools. It did not. You have to take out your own trash at the end of your stay. All in all, I don't think that we will be returning to this particular location on future trips to the lake. read more

The office staff is great Check in went smoothly. Since you prepay, all you need are the keys & to provide id. Dia, walked us to the cabin. It's exactly like it looks in the photos. It's small, but plenty of room for 2 adults & 2 teenage boys. The beds are so COMFORTABLE!!!!! They get 4 stars for that alone. The kitchen is limited, but they provide the basics. We were able to eat all our meals on site. There was room to park both of our vehicles next to our cabin as well. The bedrooms do not have tv's. Which was disappointing for us. We enjoy watching it at night and in the early mornings. We could not get the cable to work on the living room tv. They did have Netflix. We had pizza delivered. They recommended Marco's. We ordered a basic pie. It was good We had a small after hours maintenance issue. They responded promptly. The issue was, we didn't know how to use the stove. It's wasn't broken, we were just dumb, lol..... We spent our days on the beach. The area is nice. Great view. It faces almost due south. That's great for sun bathing. There are lots of discarded shells. Step lightly. The lake is full of healthy water life. We saw a pair of blue herons, red tailed hawks, ducks & many other types of birds. The water is clear. We could see little minnows too. But, it's time to replace the lounge chairs and picnic tables. They are showing their wear. We did not use the pool. I'm not sure if it was open. I will inquire about this before I make my next reservation. We enjoyed the sandy beach so much, I didn't make it an issue. The boys were disappointed though. It is a quiet resort. If you are looking for a rowdy lake party place, Long Cove Resort isn't for you. It's on the higher end price wise. I think that's to keep the riffraff out. The new tiny house with comfy bed and lake access is what you are paying for. The amenities are not of equal quality. This isn't a complaint, but, it is a fair description of the outdoor area and it's furniture. I'm satisfied with my stay. I will most likely return. read more

My family came here for a mini retreat. We found out about this location from AirBNB. We had such an amazing time! We checked in at the front office with SANDRA she is the woman who can answer all your questions she's very knowledgeable about the resort and gives exceptional customer service! We received our room key and walked to our " tiny house." It had a two rooms the master had memory foam queen bed, closet and a view of Lake Wylie and the resorts private beach! The other room had a bunk bed for the kids. The kitchen had a full fridge, stove top, a table with 4 chairs and a futon. I will post pics! They have a large pool that has a life guard on duty from open to close! You can also grill, have a bonfire by the beach and enjoy the forest around you! I will be back! read more

My wife and I booked room back in May for our anniversary. We checked in 'after hours' we got there around 7:00-7:30. Spoke with Lerone (very helpful.) he said not to worry about doing the check in process until the morning. Showed us to the Tiny Cabin (don't stay in this one.) After getting out stuff into the room and getting settled, found several huge spiders in the cabin. Later that evening we went to use the shower and the shower was stopped up and ran into the floor. When turning on the hot water to use the sink or the shower, the smell was wretched. We called and asked if we could move to another room and the lady I spoke with said to let her check and she will would call is back. Called back and said that there were no other rooms available. So we dealt with it until morning. We go to get into the bed and found hair in the dirty bed sheets. Called and spoke with Lerone and said there were extra sheets in one of the baskets. So we changed the sheets. Woke up the next morning to walk around the 'resort' and nothing was set out, all of the chairs to sit in were put up because of Covid. Found Lerone in the morning to check in and just asked if we could get a refund. The room was dirty. The water smelled like something was wrong and there was hair in the dirty bed sheets. He took down my information and said he would refund our money for 2 nights. Waited 5 business days. Nothing. Sent emails to Lerone explaining what is going on. He replied back and said he would request a refund to Red Awning again. He copied me in on the email. 5 days later, nothing. Disputed the charge with my cc company. They refunded us the money, then the next billing cycle Red Awning declined the dispute and charged us again. I have sent more emails back to Lerone and to red awning. No response. Lerone was helpful and attempted to help us get a refund with Red Awning. This 'resort' isn't anywhere I would recommend any of my friends or family staying. If Red Awning manages any other properties I wouldn't recommend anyone staying at those properties either. My next step is with the BBB. read more

My family has been members of long cove for several years to dock our boat, and we have NEVER encountered the extremely disappointing and poor management until recently! Not only is their communication horrendous to inform the members of parking pass requirements, but they have towed our car to make money off of it The staff is either poorly trained or pushes off responsibility with excuses because we stopped into the office to get our new sticker parking pass just before going out on the boat, in which we were NOT told where to place the sticker, so we placed in the rear window. AFTER a $300 tow bill, we were told it was to be placed in the front drivers side windshield. In communicating with the towing company, we were told that someone from long cove called to have us towed and that long cove also receives most of the towing money. While speaking to management about a refund for the wrongful towing, because the parking sticker was ON the car, we were told it was our fault and NO refund would be given. I can not believe the amount of excuses this company has come up with and then has the nerve to say "they look out and take care of their members". That is the biggest slap in the face they could have ever said. Not to mention the bathrooms are gross with clogged toilets and standing water, the road is so rough it could take a tire out, and the pool that we also pay for is never open! This place is tragically going downhill fast, and I hope others decide to enjoy lake Wylie in a different way because this place is a complete waste of money! read more

My sister moved to NC back in March and I wanted to take my mom down for a visit, but I didn't want to have to camp out at my sisters. My daughter was also going with us so I was checking out potential Air B n B's when I kept seeing these little houses pop up. I did a little more looking and realized this was a little resort about 20 minutes from my sisters place. Between the lake and the pool, I figured it would be the perfect spot for our long weekend get a way. The tiny house was adorable and the property was pretty great. Clearly they are doing quite a bit of work and have some work to go so I think it is just going to get better and better. I hope that they have plans to do some landscaping around the tiny houses because it would really help the aesthetics, but for the most part it was pretty nice. Couple things preventing the 5 star rating. The road into the resort is horrendous. Imagine the bumpiest road you've ever driven on and it is 1000 times worse than that. It's bad. BAD. The house had almost everything you need but it did not have a salad bowl. 2 colanders but not one bowl big enough for a salad. It also said that there was grilling utensils. There weren't anyway. Additionally there was only half a roll of paper towel (which may have just been left by the previous people) and there are no dish rags so we had to use one of the bathroom hand towels to dry our dishes on. As far as items that you would expect in a kitchen, those are the only ones that really stood out to me. We did do a lot of cooking and eating there and I pretty much had what I needed. They indicated that there 2 pans. A frying pan and a sauce pan. They did not lie. The sauce pan is the small one, the one you cook ramen in. That size. I mean we call it a ramen pan at home. And the frying pan was standard size. Great for scrambling eggs. However if you wanted to boil enough noodles to utilize one of the two colanders, there isn't a pan large enough to do that with. We really had a great time and I will absolutely consider staying here again. I heard it was under new management and I am looking forward to seeing what they do to the property and if they ever fix that road. It is so bad... read more

I rented two cabins on a weekend get away, when arriving to the "resort" you must drive down a road that could take your tires out . Not only is the road full of potholes the first view I came across after passing the sign was a old mattress sitting up against the fence greeting me as I drove in. Although it looked relatively clean (There were many other places to put this like besides the dumpster where it would look less noticeable.) the first thing that came to mind when seeing this was bedbugs. Although the staff in the office seemed nice , it was impossible to get ahold of anyone at the resort. We had called through out the day to speak to someone over 25 times to ask a question about checking in to our second cabin because we were nervous about being a little late due to traffic. Although it was during office hours no one called back or answered the phone. When we finally thought we may finally get ahold of someone it was only because they had called us to ask if we were going to be there on time for check in , I missed the call and called back immediately...no answer AGAIN. Who picks up and phone to call someone and can't answer it when it rings thirty seconds later . The first cabin rented , the tv was removed from the bedroom leaving an exposed wire sticking out of the wall, not only was this not including in the listing when we went to the office to make sure they knew the tv was gone so we would not get blamed for it they said they THINK they removed it but they weren't sure what happened to it. The second cabin we rented was nothing like we had envisioned, the posting had things listed as amenities that were not in the cabin at all. Management needs to be more clear about what is included in the cabins so people are not disappointed when they arrive. None of the photos that were posted for the cabin looked anything like the inside of the cabin . It was not the worst thing that could happen, but we were very disappointed . The overall view of the lake was beautiful , all of the listings do inform you that the pool is not accessible currently but they fail to tell you that the beautiful patio area with the stone fireplace you can see in the photos was completely overgrown and sad looking . No chairs were out , there were piles of bricks or stones everywhere . This probably wouldn't have been so disappointing if management has warned people it was under renovation like the pool. The new deck area is a wonderful place to hangout and see a beautiful view of the lake from the bedroom area , unfortunately all the cabins around the new deck all face directly at the other cabins and the main access is through sliding doors so the privacy is little to none. You can't enjoy waking up to the lake view when you have random people watching you sleep all night .... This area would be nice to rent for large events going with people you know but not individually as a family or couple . Next time , I'll put my hard earned money into a establishment that actually cares about the renters and what they have to say about the place . read more

I just spent the weekend at Logan Cove and it was simply glorious. Myself and three other ladies had a little reunion/retreat and the 2-bedroom/loft house was very comfortable. Never felt claustrophobic with the four of us at anytime. We could easily have had another person--or two--in this unit. Our house had two decks with plenty of seating, a bbq grill, and a view of the lake from every room. Each bedroom has its own AC/heat system, which was very helpful as you can imagine we each had our own preferences. I am absolutely coming back for my birthday in June I was so impressed. I highly recommend this resort. I'm sure in the summer it will be even more fun. But even with cooler weather (I'm from central Florida), there was so much to appreciate. read more

I'm almost 4 hours away now, I've called and called for the past 24hrs as well as seny emails and even a FB message. I can not get in touch with anyone and all I want to do is get my bag that I left. Deceitful advertising. Poor relationships with third party online booking sites. Impossible to reach someone from Long Cove on the phone. When you do finally reach someone they are rude, condescending, and unaccommodating. The opposite of customer service. Particularly employee Dan, who should not be employed in the hospitality service. Not to mention the $69 cleaning fee that come up after you start the booking process only. Do not book here. This is, without a doubt, the most unresponsive management of any business in Charlotte. They do not address customer issues and do not maintain the property well. An example of this is that their pool wasn't ready for memorial day two years running. Even if the pool had been ready, they completed enclosed it in corrugated tin siding, so not only can pool users not see the lake anymore, it is like a convection oven inside. Wrought iron would have been much classier. Additionally, the teenage lifeguards are allowed to blare their personal music, making conversation very difficult. read more

We stayed here in late March and had the perfect 2 night getaway. Adorable, well-appointed cabins with smart TV's, remote setting just minutes from main roads and shopping, and great sunsets. We had a family cook out in the community grilling area. The staff was very accommodating. read more

After 15 wonderful years being a member the new owners scammed us out of $250. We were promised a refund but then returned calls and e-mails stopped. If we managed to catch someone in the office they claim the person authorized to give refunds is out of the office.. Even WSOC Jason Stoogenke did a news story on people being lied to and not giving refunds that were promised. Resort sold pool memberships and continues to advertise for vacation rentals for a property in disrepair with NO available pool. Owners are extremely unprofessional and refuse to issue refunds. There are many complaints to the BBB already. This business is actively false advertising and defrauding people. read more
