Decided to come here for a haircut with Jennifer since she was highly suggested by other reviews on here. When I first came in I was welcomed in and greeted. I told the worker at the front I wanted a haircut from Jennifer and was told to take a seat in the waiting area. She already had another customer in her chair so I had to wait about 5-7 minutes for her to finish up. They have a decent sized waiting area with ample seating and a tv too. I was called by Jennifer and sat in the chair. She was very friendly and asked what type of cut I wanted. I explained I wanted just a cleanup trim/cut with 2 inches off with layers. She got right to work and after the first snip she showed the amount of hair she was cutting to confirm. I gave her the ok to continue and she proceeded to cut the rest. When she was done she even gave me a mirror so I can check the back. The cut was exactly what I wanted and she was very efficient! I paid at the front and handed my tip to Jennifer directly. Was due for a haircut for a while as my hair was getting past my waist. Saw good reviews with Jennifer so I made an appointment with her. All I had to do was show her two mid-length layered pictures and explained what I wanted for my bangs and she got it to a T. I really liked that she reconfirmed that I wanted to cut 4 inches off -- even showing the first cut of hair to visually show how much she is cutting off. And the fifth star goes to price, it's definitely economical. I've spent a BS amount of money on color before, so maybe when I need to get color in again, I could go here instead and see how that goes. My husband, my young son and I have come here for about 3-4 years. They have all been incredible with every one of us! My hubs won't get his hair cut anywhere else! He knows that no one knows how to cut his hair the right way given that he is mixed. He is creole and a mix of white so there are a ton of ways to style, or cut, his hair. But because of the curls, he has a hard time finding someone who cuts it, and lines it up, the way he needs it to be done. Every one of the employees there have always been great at every hair cut! I went there for my upper lips only but had really bad experience I'm glad that I haven't done anything else, it was horrible, the person who did my upper lip...sorry i didn't notice her name but she was just horrible and ready with all the answers , I said ups it's hurting when she was waxing and she was like oh ya you got plenty hair well if there is no hair why would I go there.. The main horrible part is here when she leaves lot of hairs on my lips and when I saw her she was like it's small you have to let it grow so till then should I go out with half done upper lip and then she started plucking it ... oh my god I was so scared for my skin, she would've take off my skin with the plucker the way she was doing... if didn't stop her ... terrible service My skin is still red after 24 hours and burning as well I do not recommend this place and not going back there.... read more

I have problem hair, so I should know better than to take it somewhere that I don't have full confidence in the stylist. I will take responsibility for that. However, after getting my hair cut here with Maggie, I am one very unhappy camper. My instructions were to cut 2 inches into a bob with a bit of layering in the back to give it a little volume. What I ended up with was a shag haircut that's short on top and long on the bottom. Yup, she gave me a mullet. To make matters worse, she layered it so much that it's all fly-away no matter how much hair product I put into it. I have had not so perfect hairstyles before, which I have been able to rescue when I got home. However, there was no rescuing this disaster. When I left, I had resigned myself to a bad decision and was going to call it a day. But when I went to pay she said my haircut was $50. I just about had a heart attack! When I called and inquired about the price of a haircut, I was quoted $15 over the phone. When I walked in, I looked at their price list and it said $15 for hair cut, long hair. So, I thought I just misunderstood her and asked her again. She said "$50" and showed me the calculator that said, "$50". Lady, if I had $50 to spend on a haircut would I come to a place called Greatcuts?! I told her that the price quoted and what it said on their price list was $15, not $50. Then another lady came and said, "Well, she blow dried and flat ironed your hair. That's extra", First off, she blow dried my hair because she wet it to do the damn cut. Secondly, she told she was going to flat iron it to make sure that the layers were all correct. She NEVER said anything about it being extra. I told her this and she said, "Okay, $35". I looked at her like, "Um, no try again". Finally, she said, "$30". I was so mad at this point that I just paid it to get the hell out of there before I really lost my cool and said something rude. You know the one behind Spaghetti Factory. Was disappointed when I didn't see her there and they wouldn't tell me where she went. Jennifer has always done a great job on my family's hair and she didn't disappoint this time either. She listens to what you want and will make suggestions if you're not sure. The salon is clean, the prices are lower than the other place and Greatcuts give you a free haircut after 11 instead of 12 haircuts. A great place for young and old alike. Got a haircut here for the second time! This place is perfect when you just want a quick trim and some layers without having to spend $50 bucks just for a cut. They will not shampoo your hair prior to washing your hair like those fancy shmancy salons but that's okay because I wash my own hair every day. They will wet your hair with a spray water bottle. I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon and was seated after just a few min. She (forgot her name) asked me how I wanted my cut and I told her I wanted layers and also told her how much of the length I want to cut. In the midst of the haircut, I also told her that I want shorter layers around the crown of my head for extra volume. She did her job perfectly while maintaining silence. I guess its better to just be quiet than to make silly small talk. Works for me! This is not the place where your hairstylist will ask about your whole life story and agree with you every step of the way. This is your quick in and out stop. The lady cut my hair exactly how I wanted. She did not style it in anyway and let me out of the salon with wet hair but for $20 I could not expect much else. I recommend this place for people who want a simple cut and don't want to pay an extra $30 for someone to wash their already-washed hair. read more

The real reason why my family, 6 kids, and I go there is because of a stylist named Jennifer. She is usually in the 1st chair right behind the front desk. I usually have to check her schedule to make sure she is working that day. My 3 boys only want her to cut their hair because she listens and provides good suggestions on what may look good. She is friendly and takes care of her customers. She is a secret gem in the rough. The parking at the location is not the greatest but close to public transit. It is near a bunch of diverse shops. If you need some quick carne asada or Mexican pan dulces you can go to Toledo's in the same plaza. You can also pick up some Indian spices next door if you plan to cook an Indian feast. The lady who works here gave me plenty of recommendations, which was appreciated because I usually just get a fade unless it is a special occasion. I've gone here for years and finally decided I should get around to doing a review. I have never had a bad haircut here, and I've had the majority of the stylists here cut my hair. With that being said, I usually get my hair cut by Jennifer. She is awesome and extremely fast too. Jennifer is also very flexible and has helped me out any time I wanted to try a new style - she gives suggestions but will let you decide what you want. Had an appointment made about a day or two before the day that I wanted to have a haircut. On appointment day(Saturday, 10Al they took me and did not not have to wait. There was already a barber / stylist that was ready to take my haircut. Her name was Kim. She did a very good job on my hair. For a men's cut that cost about $12 took about 15 minutes. A pleasant experience and even did small talk. They also have a loyalty card where if you do 10 cuts they'll give you the 11th one for free. Really good quality Salon. Just moved to the area from Oregon. This salon was recommended by a friend. Asked Jennifer to trim my bangs and touch up the ends of my bob style haircut I was going for....and ended up with this. I am devastated...never again. I explained to her that last year my hair was down to my waist and with a medical condition was cut to only about 2 inches long and I was very sensitive when it came to my hair. I feel like she is underrated here and she is talented at what she does. I went in for some layers and thin bangs. Upon entering the store the first thing you notice is the fresh decor. The place has a very nice design of colors whether it be choice of color for the tile and walls or the color of the wood desks it matches perfectly. The atmosphere is very calm and it's an excellent place to go for anything ranging from hair cuts to waxes and highlites or coloring. The stylist I went to, Jennifer, was very professional and caring. Jennifer was excellent at servicing my needs and delivered what I wanted flawlessly. She had a very large smile and is very happy to meet my needs (im a picky guy when it comes to my hair). The stylists take their time to ensure a quality hair cut, they dont hastly give you a hair cut and move on to the next customer. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My experience here was absolutely horrific. My stylist was "Chi," I believe that was her name because the chair I was sitting in had a cosmetology license in front of me by that name. I came in with long hair, stopping just past my bottom. I asked her to cut 1in off and give me layers and "curtain" bangs. She cut my hair shorter than expected - chopped off unevenly, just a trim with *no* layers. She gave me bangs cut level to my cheek bones and did not frame my face at all. So basically, it was extremely short bangs in the front and long hair in the back. The bangs did not blend in with the rest of my hair at all. She left my hair completely soaking wet and only blow dried my bangs. Which makes no sense at all lol. I was in tears when I went home to blow dry my hair and fell apart when I saw how she ruined my hair. My husband thought a 10 year old did my hair. I ended up calling Julie at James Marks Salon who told me to come in just before closing and she did MAGIC on my hair. Will not be coming back here again. But you get what you pay for. After looking/calling around in my near by area for somewhere to cut my hair cheaper than the barber I usually go to downtown. I decided to try out this place because of the yelp reviews. I drove into the parking lot and there was a huge group of thuggish kids basically crowding my car, I immediately knew that this place is not in the best area. Anyways after making my way through and double checking that I locked my car I got in there. The people were friendly but it was a mediocre haircut. It was really nothing special, I didn't see what the big deal was the previous reviews. It really wasn't that cheaper than then the supercuts in the more decent area a few parking lots away. So in conclusion I will probably not be coming back anytime soon, I'd rather NOT take the risk of my car getting broke into for a mediocre haircut. read more

I've been going to Greatcuts for many years (before it was EZ Cuts) to see Jenny (long hair) or Chi-due to both their friendliness and consistency. I used to see Jenny when when I had long hair and she cut the subtle layers I wanted to keep my hair healthy. Lately Chi has been cutting my hair now that it is shoulder length. I have thick curly hair and she knows how to cut it without using razor sheers to thin it out. The result is that I no longer have to use multiple hair products to make my curls bounce. They are both very talented and I don't go anywhere else for my hair care needs. read more

The first time I got my haircut here was perfectly fine. It was done by a very nice lady and she tried to her best abilities to cut my hair to a picture I had of my old haircut. So I thought if she could cut my hair decently the most recommended person Jennifer could do the same or better. So one day me and a friend of mine go to Greatcuts to get a haircut and this one about an hour before they close so they had a lot of open availability. I saw that Jennifer was free and sprung on the opportunity to get a good haircut. I show her the same picture I showed the lady that cut my hair at the same place to her and she glanced at it and said okay. So, long story short, she did not cut my hair the way it looked like in the picture. In fact she cut it really unevenly. I'm a guy that likes medium to short length hair and to have a fringe. She made the front of my hair really uneven like bits and pieces were everywhere. Shorter and longer all across. She probably knew she messed up on my hair as well because she told me to style it upwards instead of downwards like I usually do and how it looked like in the photo. Maybe it was a one time mistake I have no clue but, they have lost a customer. From my experience I would rather spend more money to get a haircut at a good spot and I would avoid Jennifer if I was planning to go here if I were you. read more

I had virgin hair. Thin but down to my back. I went there previously for a cut from another lady who did well. This time Jennifer the owner decided to dye my hair. I shower her the picture of the hair color style I wanted which was highlights with dark and blonde brown hair. She had me sign a waiver prior to (which should have been a red flag for me because a good hair salon doesn't need to do that). She charged me $120 which I thought was fair for a full hair highlight. But then she just slapped color on my hair with no highlights. My whole hair turned out pinkish after I asked her to tone it down and she even put toner on it to darken it. I tipped her $25 just because I've always been a good tipper. I absolutely hated my hair and cried after when I went home and attempted to style it. It was my friends bday and I didn't come out that night because of how horrible my hair looked. I contacted her and she agreed to put more toner on it. Went in the following morning and after it came out reddish brown. That was manageable but not what I initially asked for. After I went to higher end places to see if I was over charged and they confirmed that I was because all she did was put color in my hair when the picture I showed was obviously a highlight. Jennifer is a nice person but her color match is horrible. She had a lot of regulars for haircuts while I was there but I would highly recommend you checkout another place if you plan to get color or highlights.
