Jacob was very responsive, helpful and explained things to me. I initially contacted him for a date of death appraisal for a San Carlos property. He offered either a desktop appraisal or a referral for a traditional one since it is outside his coverage area and explained the difference and between the two. I worked with Jacob back in 2013 for my grandmother's date of death valuation for her summer home. Flash forward to 2024 and my father passed away and I needed to have date of death appraisals done again. I immediately reached out to Jacob to see if he was available to do the appraisal for my father's estate. He was prompt in his response and told me that although he had some large upcoming projects, he would be more than happy to work with my for my appraisal needs. I had been procrastinating with getting an appraisal to try and lower my property taxes. I was both overwhelmed by the sheer number of appraisers out there, and discouraged by my past experiences with appraisers (appraisal reports taking weeks to show up... appraisers eerily lurking around my house... horrible punctuality... promising me one value only to have the report in stark contrast to that value... etc) So I was a little skeptical when Greater Bay Appraisal was refereed by a close friend of mine who promised they were the absolute best in the area and that I would have a great experience with them. But low and behold!! They were EXACTLY right! First off... I didn't get a huge time span of arrival time no " I'll be there between 12pm & whenever i feel like it o'clock " he told me exactly what time he would be there. In fact he was on time and I was late! I thought for SURE he would be as late as everyone else especially with giving me an exact time for when he would show up. But he showed up 15mins early and actually waited for me when I told him I was 10mins away. When I got there he was very nice - by that I mean he didn't rub it in my face that he sat there waiting for me for 10 mins lol. Once he was in I was absolutely amazed with how fast he was in and out of the house. 3 minutes - Tops. He was done before I could offer him a drink. Very professional, even stayed and waited patiently answering all my questions with much more insight than I get even from Realtors that I've talked to in the past. As if I wasn't already throughly impressed . . . Typical appraisals usually take about a week (at least) to come in. I've heard myths of next day service.. This guy got it back LATER ON THE SAME DAY!! Amazing service ~ Very punctual ~ Extremely knowledgeable & professional. I gave him 5 stars because I couldn't give him 10!
