I cannot say enough about this place and the care I received, from Lauren at the desk (top notch), to all the assistants, and of course the legendary Dr Hall (literally my neighbor and I confer on her brilliance as well as my dentist's finance who is a dental assistant/receptionist). I was walked through every step clearly and was checked on throughout the procedure and hardly felt any discomfort throughout. I was asked repeatedly if I had any questions at the end. And because my first root canal with her went so well, I was hardly anxious for today. I knew I was in the best of hands. It is rare these days to find such kind, thorough, personable and expert care (although my dentist is pretty darn amazing as well). I recommend this business whole heartedly and if I could give them 10 stars here on Yelp, I would.

She asked about my insurance and told me "it looked as if I had not used much and I should be mostly covered" 2. I arrive on the day of the procedure. They ask if I received the written estimate. I had not. I was presented with a $461.00 bill payable on the spot. This was surprising, but I dutifully pulled out my credit card and figured that was the end of it. 3. A month later I get a bill for an additional $702.00. 4. When I call a very snippy office manager tells me that "we don't look at your policy. We just tell you what we think it will be." This is absurd. Don't make up numbers and pretend you are doing me a favor. Just tell me if I want to know what I will owe than I need to call my insurance Great doctor. Awful Admin.

As a result this appointment was canceled because they were unable to confirm the appointment to the incorrect number notwithstanding my sore tooth. All three times, something intervened to save me from what I thought was the worst dental experience you could ever have any time. Then....it happened. I was in the chair with Dr.Abby Gaughan who had just examined my tooth, and I could no longer have a different outcome. It was root canal time, and it was just my luck that she could do it right then! I was caught off guard for sure. I wanted to run out and say, Later but why worry about it and stress. All that extra anxiety? No way. So I stayed and prepared for hell in my mouth! Well I cannot tell you how totally different my experience was from what I thought and what others had told me. The doctor was funny, smart and explained the process to ease my concerns. She said it would not hurt, but who would believe that. Her assisting tech was a blast, with a great sense of humor. I can't believe I was in the chair....the Dental chair, mouth jacked open, and laughing with these super professional and super funny ladies. I was not in pain. Outside of the injection at the beginning, I felt nothing. When it was over, I still was not in pain. Two weeks later, yup, no pain. I could not believe it. I know it sounds crazy, but it was not horrible. I was not in pain and for sure, I was not traumatized by having a root canal. Please, if you find yourself in need of the scary sounding term.....root canal, do yourself a kind favor and see Dr. Abby Gaughan. The office is currently Covid prepared, safe and staff are very kind. They all are warm, share a smile and want you to have a very positive experience. No one loves going to the dental office. But it's a good health practice so don't put it off. Those oral issues just get worse with the passing of time. Please tell them Claire sent you and you'll be in for a party! Trust me. However, Dr. A. was incredibly informative with me as a patient during the procedure. The quality of care I received was outstanding, especially considering i had extenuating circumstances not commonly encountered with a root canal. Dr. A took extra time to be sure to complete my difficult procedure. She also followed up with a couple of calls to check on my recovery. I felt very supported as her patient. Dr Carver is my daughter's dentist & she called explaining my emergency to the doctor. She had me come in right away & she made the repair (the right way, I haven't had a problem with it since). I was impressed by her chairside manner & how quickly she made the repair. We moved into the area shortly after that (from fla, yeah I know but we moved to be near our grandkids after retiring). Dr Carver has been my dentist since we moved up & I can't say enough about her manner & how professional her staff is. I haven't always taken the best care of my teeth (shame on me) & my fear of dentists (wouldn't go unless I absolutely had to) left my mouth in poor health. She has never been judgmental & my mouth is the best it's been since my early teens.

The staff was friendly, but what I expected to be a consultation felt more like a push toward having a root canal than a discussion of all available options. After the appointment, I decided to get a second opinion before proceeding with treatment. Two different dental offices requested my 3D CT scan from this office so they could properly evaluate my situation. Both offices told me they never received it. I paid for that scan, and I was trying to make an informed decision about a significant dental procedure. Instead, I found myself unable to get other specialists the information they needed to fully evaluate my case. Whether intentional or not, the result was the same: it made getting a second opinion far more difficult than it should have been. My advice to anyone considering treatment here: if they take imaging, ask for a copy before you leave the office. Do not assume it will be sent later if you decide to seek another opinion. Patients deserve access to their own diagnostic information and the ability to explore treatment options without obstacles. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I had just had a root canal a few months before elsewhere and it took 2.5 hours and they did a mediocre job. Dr. Nagel's work healed great and my other dentist who did the bridge was very happy with his work as well. I've told my friends that if they ever need a root canal, Dr. Nagel should be their first choice.
