The two women at the reception desk showed no regard for HIPAA regulations. When I arrived for my 10 AM appointment for my tooth extraction, the receptionist loudly announced, "You are here for your extraction of tooth #7," which was overheard by everyone in the lobby. This lack of privacy was extremely embarrassing. The situation worsened when I had to do an impression for my flipper. The staff reclined the chair down instead of sitting up, which caused me to gag. When I started to choke, the assistant yelled at me to lift my legs. This unprofessional behavior left me traumatized. To make matters worse, when I returned to pick up my flipper, the receptionists repeated their loud and intrusive behavior, announcing my presence and the reason for my visit to everyone in the lobby. The flipper itself was of poor quality, looking like it came out of a bubble gum machine, despite costing nearly $1,000. While the dentist was decent and the extraction itself went smoothly, the overall experience was marred by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the front desk staff, the staff who did the impression and the poor quality of the "flipper." I was admitted this morning after an ambulance transport to their ER. I was initially surprised by their three-star rating and couldn't understand the reason. This is my second encounter with this Claremont hospital. Several years ago, I visited their ER due to a kidney stone; their care was outstanding, and I vowed to return if needed. Yesterday, I was treated for a hematoma in my left thigh on the ER floor, similar to treatment I previously received at the VA hospital in White River Junction. As my condition worsened, I was transported by ambulance to the nearest ER, which turned out to be here at Valley Regional--the staff were professional, attentive, and compassionate. In particular, Jeffrey, the paramedic on duty, provided remarkable care, exemplifying excellent emergency services. After tests, I was admitted this morning and met Kathy, the floor nurse, to be equally genuine, a true empathy with the perfect bedside manner personality, and skill level that made my stay exceptional. Not all the hospital beds I've had to sleep in over the past two months have been this comfortable. This room and VRH was private and calming. I'm not sure how people aren't experiencing the same relief I am, as everyone here has been exceptional.

Her first at this office was her four year old well child exam and we were a little nervous knowing she'd need to receive vaccines at this visit and didn't want her first experience here to be a bad/painful one. However, we had nothing to worry about because Suzanne is literally the greatest nurse to exist. While our daughter's entire exam went well Suzanne truly won the award. I believe her ability to administer injections is unmatched. Her and the other nurse (phlebotomist, I think) working with her were so quick and did such a good job being distracting that our daughter didn't even have time to register that there was any pain at all. I never thought I'd see the day that we'd go to an appointment requiring shots and not leave the office in tears but trust me when I say it is possible! Everyone we encountered in the appointment was friendly and professional. I absolutely recommend this office. Thank you, Suzanne, for being so incredible!

First off, he did not warn me that he would be reaching in my mouth and yanking out my denture, and put it back in, again, without warning. He did that more than once. He asked me a question and, when I tried to answer, he continually waving his fingers not 3" from my face -- very impolite and very distracting. It was clear from my interactions with the office staff afterwards that this happens often. Dr. Syed is an outstanding dentist- not only did he put me at ease but he patiently explained every procedure. In spite of the fact that my case is complicated, everything went extremely well and I'm very happy with the results. Plus, his rates are more reasonable than anywhere else I checked. (And I checked a lot of dentists!) I have to drive about an hour to get to his office, but would gladly drive far longer to continue to get care at Springfield Family Dental.
