The two women at the reception desk showed no regard for HIPAA regulations. When I arrived for my 10 AM appointment for my tooth extraction, the receptionist loudly announced, "You are here for your extraction of tooth #7," which was overheard by everyone in the lobby. This lack of privacy was extremely embarrassing. The situation worsened when I had to do an impression for my flipper. The staff reclined the chair down instead of sitting up, which caused me to gag. When I started to choke, the assistant yelled at me to lift my legs. This unprofessional behavior left me traumatized. To make matters worse, when I returned to pick up my flipper, the receptionists repeated their loud and intrusive behavior, announcing my presence and the reason for my visit to everyone in the lobby. The flipper itself was of poor quality, looking like it came out of a bubble gum machine, despite costing nearly $1,000. While the dentist was decent and the extraction itself went smoothly, the overall experience was marred by the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the front desk staff, the staff who did the impression and the poor quality of the "flipper." I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking respectful, quality and private dental care.

Today, I had an unavoidable situation--my kids' babysitter had to cancel last minute. I immediately called Gentle Dental first thing in the morning to reschedule. Their response? "We can reschedule, but there's a $50 fee." Seriously? What is this--1985? I'm already paying premium prices for care, and now I'm hit with a penalty for a genuine emergency? No flexibility, no understanding, no effort to retain a loyal customer. My family has brought them plenty of business, and this is how we're treated? When did customer retention stop being a priority? When did we normalize this kind of price gouging and corporate coldness? Shame on any business that thinks this is acceptable--especially in healthcare. Rescheduling still brings them business, just not my business after today! Gentle Dental, you've lost a loyal customer. After Guberman's retirement and not liking his replacement, I went to two who offered special introductory rates, but one prescribed expensive gum work (Aspen) and the other (Family Dentist) a couple expensive crowns then from recommendations I went to Hoffman (he saw neither) and I was satisfied for about 5 years until he retired and upsell resumed with his replacement. I then went to research a couple who were rated as best in the newspaper surveys. Both required an introductory package (Spoonwood $375-with a 3% senior discount and Perry $497-no discount and said they might reject xrays from other dentists). Then I saw Gentle Dental with an intro package of $79 but approached with trepidation foreseeing upselling. But none. And I liked the office staff better than all previous noted. The technician who did the xrays was nice and the most thorough xrays I have ever had. The hygienist was especially cordial and thorough as was the dentist who found my mouth in especially good shape. There you have it. I avoided upselling, found great people, and had a thorough introductory package which supports a senior, fixed income, no insurance budget.

When I started with them a few years ago, I was so happy to have found them after a bad experience with a Keene dentist. Plus, they were preferred providers with my dental insurance (they since have stopped being preferred providers with any insurance - ouch!). I have crowns and grind and clench. I wear a night guard. I do not eat chewy or hard things, searched and researched a toothpaste that wouldn't erode the crown's surfaces, I even brush for 2 minutes twice a day (I actually time it). Then I had a couple of teeth (crowns) break - front teeth - just suddenly I felt an object in my mouth, then another. Fortunately, I didn't swallow them! I didn't see my usual dentist. I saw some guy I didn't know, rushed me, and did not take into account my anxiety. I needed a partial, and the partial was a catastrophe. I was never given an opportunity to have a say in color. What I received was a partial that made it look as if those teeth were rotting and one of the "teeth" on it was crooked. I brought up the crooked tooth, and was told "it has to be like that." It took time, but I went back with my complaints and worked with my usual dentist. They were going to re-do the partial. It took 6 weeks to get it. It was lovely. The color we chose matched my teeth, the crooked "tooth" was straightened. Nice, yes? After 4 days, the partial broke. I went back, and was told "there is nothing we can do." I paid a lot for that dental appliance, and first, it was hideous, then beautiful, and then broke within a few days. Nothing they could do! I walked out in shock. Once in my car, I was so angry that I was shaking. Did I go back in? No. I have a valid, real condition regarding anxiety and medical practitioners. I was unable to go in. I will do something about such callous care - write reviews, and write to Bowman with photos. Frankly, I am traumatized by the whole mess. I also think, in part, I received poor care, "unable to do", because I was looking into going to another dentist - a practice that is a preferred provider with my insurance. I was still going to Bowman, because of the issues we were already in the middle of. I'd already paid Bowman, and it was definitely more than $1,000 for the partial. Now, I have a really ugly partial, a "new partial that broke within days, and am looking at paying for the same partial with a different dentist. Bowman's practice has gone from caring about clients to making that cha-ching!

Long story short, I was born with very weak teeth and had spent thousands of dollars trying to save them until they just weren't salvageable. I initially opted for dentures at another dentist. They were awful. I couldn't eat without them falling out, I gagged all the time, my upper lip started curling in and, at 45, i felt like I would never be the same again. I looked into many options to get all on 4 and some told me my case was too complex. Some were priced so outrageously I couldn't even imagine this being a possibility. I was so depressed. I even considered going to Mexico but my concern was that I would go through all that and then have complications that would make me fly back and forth to a foreign country and I could never afford that. One day, I got out of my funk and decided to hunt for someone again after realizing I feared going to Mexico and having complications. Bowman offered financing options I was approved for to get an All on 4 package. From my first meeting with Dr Bowman I knew my life would change forever. He has one of the best bedside manners I've ever witnessed. I've seen dozens of dentists and no one tops him. He explained everything in great detail and we came up with a plan. I couldn't believe I'd have new teeth and part of my life back so soon! Dr Bowman was a pure gem throughout the process. I was never waiting long for an appointment. His staff is beyond amazing and it is such a pleasure to watch them interact with him as he trains them during procedures. They clearly deeply respect him and love their jobs. I'm the middle of treatment I was diagnosed with cancer. This delayed my finals and could have seriously caused issues with my healing. Dr Bowman accommodated me every step of the way, working around my cancer appointments and becoming more like family than a medical professional. I can't imagine ever going to another dental practice. Today I feel beautiful, confident, and the compliments I get on my stunning, natural looking all on 4 are so uplifting.
