I did not…read morefeel well taken care of, and was honestly just confused and disappointed by the whole process. I got my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Dompkowski, and got an infection afterward. It was only when I called a week later (asking about the infection) that he explained that I should be doing saline rinses and taking antibiotics. While wisdom teeth removals aren't necessarily the specialty here, I was referred to Dr. D from someone who had been seeing him for a while. First, I came in to have my teeth evaluated, and Dr. D said that he could definitely do a wisdom tooth surgery. I asked if I would be put under, and was told yes. When I arrived for surgery, I learned that I would not actually be put under, as they only had local anesthesia (this part confused me). The surgery went well, and afterward I was sent on my way with an ice pack. Eventually, I got an infection, and had to come back to pick up some antibiotics. At this point, they told me that I should have been doing saline rinses every day since the surgery (which would have been great to know). After realizing that I was missing a lot of information, I looked online and consulted others to find out that I should be using a water stream to dislodge anything that might get stuck in the gum-holes (which they also neglected to mention). To give them the benefit of the doubt, wisdom teeth removal isn't a normal occurrence here, and that could have been why there wasn't a standardized process of explaining post-surgery procedure. That being said, I considered the lack of information given to be a gross oversight, which resulted in a bad and physically painful experience for me. Needless to say, I will not be coming back.

I hate to admit that, but prior dentists had scared me off with unnecessary procedures and used car sales man type personalities. He was recommended to me by a friend who has been going to him for years. Dr. Sendroff is very good with nervous patients. I am 30 something going on five years old when I'm in the dental chair. I found him very thorough, calming, kind and will explain procedures before and while things are happening. His receptionist and wife Paula is a gem and super sweet. The hygenist is also great and quite funny! They've got a great practice. Plus you get a flower at the end of the visit, now my work knows that every time I return from a long absence with a flower I was at the dentist.

WHOOPS. I had two visits at my "in=network" dentist and realized it paled in comparison to Dr. Sendroff's office. Literally everything you can rate in a dentist's office was better in Dr. Sendroff's office. Reception, timeliness, treatment, care, friendliness, technology, across the board. I've recommended him to all my friends and family anytime they ask, and sometimes even when they don't. My teeth stain easily, and can sometimes take some extra work to get clean, but they are thoughtful, careful, gentle and thorough. They get the job done, you can see and feel the cleaning, and its pleasant along the way. If there were six stars, they would get it.

When I got there, Dr. Loewinger was bragging about how she was at a senator's anniversary party until 2am the night before, and she was presumable now hungover (or maybe even still drunk). She did not give me anesthesia, and when she saw me wincing she said: "wow I'm surprised it hurts, I gave you so much anesthesia." When I informed her that she actually didn't give me any, she then rambled on for 10 minutes trying to cover her tracks - saying "oh yes, I actually made a judgement call to not give you anesthesia because it's just one filling." Super shady. When she put in the filling, she then was like "okay you're done." I've had enough fillings in my life (unfortunately) that I know you need to them shape and file down the filling after putting it in so it doesn't throw off the pressure in your mouth. I raised that to her, and she goes "oh yes, I figured I should just get you out of here quickly so I wasn't going to do it." Um what?! Now it is 1.5 months later and my filling has fallen out so I now have to try to make a last minute appointment (obviously not with her) so that my tooth doesn't erode due to the middle of my tooth being exposed. Seriously, not acceptable at all. Actually wondering if there is a way to report this to a dental board - if anyone knows how, let me know.

I know most people don't love the dentist, but I'm ridiculously, over-the-top scared. Not a little nervous, but totally irrationally fearful. In a lot of pain, and as a first-time patient, Dr. Loewinger was able to fit me in for an emergency appointment. I hadn't eaten or slept for 72 hours and was in tears when I got to her office. She and her staff were so kind to me, and the procedure was completely painless. I scheduled a cleaning for the next week, which was also a fantastic experience. My tooth required a root canal, and she recommended Dr. Olga Fonseca (also wonderful). Overall, she has really helped me get over my fear of dentists and I think has me on a good path to regular dental care. OH, and even though I knew that my decade-lapse in dental care was a very bad thing, she never once scolded or judged me. Overall, the whole experience has been fantastic - way more than I could ever expect from a dentist!

This man has utterly butchered my mouth. He did two root canals on the same tooth, because he did…read morenot like his own work. Those two root canals were done within 5 days of each other. I told him the tooth was moving after the second root canal and he told me sometimes false sensations occurred because of the obliteration of the nerve root. Fast forward about a year and I have an infection in my jaw burn. I literally have a huge knot in my jaw and the tooth is so painful I cannot eat. My gum is receding around the tooth because of multiple traumas from multiple root canals, infection, and extraction of the same tooth. I have bone splinters sticking out of my gums that have caused a large ulceration on my tongue. It hurts me to eat, it hurts me to talk, it hurts me to swallow my food. I will have to have oral surgery to cut my gums open and grind down the bone shards that are sticking out of my gum. I will also lose the tooth beside the one he butchered, because of the gum receding has exposed the root and nerve. Dr e will commit only to paying for the oral surgery. He will not restore my mouth to the level it was when I walked in his practice. He's trying to negotiate with me, it's suggesting half measures to fix it. It is half measures that brought me to this. I am following complaints against him with United Concordia insurance, and I am filing a complaint with the Virginia department of healthcare professionals. The final tool I have to make this man pay for what he has done butchering my mouth is to mount a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood in the back of my truck. It will say, dedicated Smiles butchered my mouth. I will park it in front of his business every single day while I frequent other businesses in the shopping center and spend my money. My God this man has cost me misery. If I can close the doors to his business it would be a public service to the rest of the community. He is dangerous, and does not hold himself accountable for the damage he does. The appointment for the temporary crown took awhile, but only because he was taking extreme care to make sure it would fit properly. Which it absolutely did. When I went back to the permanent crown it was an extremely quick visit. He said it might feel tight and noticeable for a couple days, but by the end of that day I couldn't notice it at all. No pain, no discomfort, and it fits so well I would be surprised if someone else would even be able to tell it is a crown. GO SEE HIM!!
