We were charged close to Double our Co-Pay amount. I had to file a formal complaint with Aetna and even then they will not refund my $2000 they over charged me. I already paid off the credit card they put the charges on those funds should have been offered to me for current dental care at their office or in a check! The credit card they claim to have refunded has no records of this transaction! Be VERY CAUTIOUS always get pre authorization before they do any services! read more

Where do I start? Every time I go to Dr. Hanania's office, I am always greeted with the sweetest staff members. I'm never left waiting for more than five minutes, which is great because I don't need any extra time debating if I really want to get dental work done. I am able to hear some jokes and feel less tense while in the chair, which makes my experience even more pleasant. I'm always given a breakdown of costs and services before the work is started. I'd like to also note that they are great with children. My 11 year old has been to another dental office and she really likes this one. A special shoutout to Dr. Hanania, Paula & Anne. My husband went to this dentist last year and we didn't seem to have any problems that we can recall. Fast forward to us receiving bills ($800) in July and August 2020 and us calling the office numerous time to ask questions. Six months later we STILL have not received a call back from the office about the billing questions we have. I get a bill from a collection company that is double what my last bill from the dental office is....I was stunned. So not only did this office never return our calls they sent our account to collections! The invoice they sent leaves me with a million questions!! This place is horrible. I would definitely not use them!! You may make it past the dental work but you will never survive the billing nightmares that come with it!! read more

Dr. Hanania has very good reviews on the Net but once you visit his office you will be surprised. I never got to see Dr. Hanania , instead I was seen by a woman on staff who is a dentist. I felt like most of the staff including the dentist was under-trained and most likely fresh out of dental school. I don't think Dr. Hanania is aware of how some of his staff comes across to his patients. Highly unprofessional and rude in person and on the phone. When you call an office , you expect to be treated with respect and not interrupted or cut off while speaking. Laughing and joking around is fine. Having fun at work is fine , but not when you should be paying attention to your patients. This does not apply to all of his employees. Services were priced high. Even when you have insurance. The office set up with the televisions is very clean and nice. Save your money and research before you go. I wish I had. Employees on staff represent your business. I expected a lot more. Just like Lai S. , they didn't seem to know what is going on or who was going to clean my teeth. read more

Let me first off start by saying how terrified I am with dentist. Sedation Dentistry was the right move. The better move was choosing Dr. Hanania's office to perform the necessary work. I am a very difficult patient to deal with. Every single person I dealt with at that office was very professional and accommodating. Ann at the Front Desk and Brenda the office Manager were very easy to deal with and made me feel at home. All the Hygienists that put up with my nonsense also deserve high remarks. I believe Crystal is a name remember. She was extremely helpful dealing with all my Insurance issues. All in all My experience was very pleasant. Dr. Hanania will continue to get my business. Although my visit this morning started with a friendly greeting, things quickly devolved from there. I was immediately challenged for copies of my X-rays. They wanted panoramic x-rays, which are only authorized every 3 years by my insurance. After sending a written request to my previous provider about 6 months ago, I presumed they had sent over the x-rays to Hanania Dental. Evidently, Hanania Dental misplaced the images or my prior dentist may not have sent them in response to my request. Either way, I called the prior dentist while in the waiting room and was advised the last x-rays taken were 6/2017 and did not include panoramic x-rays. This seemed to be a show stopper for Hanania Dental. I asked if they assisted in coordinating with the previous office for any needed information. They quickly said NO because every office is different. This was a first for me. Why wouldn't they coordinate, especially after I got the ball rolling with a written request? They put the responsibility solely on the patient to be coordinating any requests and verifying receipt at Hanania Dental. The front office then proceeded to want to charge me for new panoramic x-rays at a supposed "lower price" in order to proceed with the cleaning & check-up. I declined. Prior to departing, I was advised I could "reschedule when I had my stuff together" and sent to them via email. I just shook my head and left. read more

I will not go back there ever again- I have been a patient for 10 years, everything went always fine. Until one major problem on tooth nr 10 which took from nov 2015 till Feb 2016. His after hour emergency phone line nr does not call you back and you get as a response on Monday: OH sorry I did not get your calls, no signals were I was. Receptionist B is something else unwilling to help. Patient should come first no matter what, but not at Hanania dental, also he chipped my tooth next to tooth nr 10 while he placed the grown but I only saw it later. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I gave 1 star because the doctors I met are good. But please be careful with the dental hygienists and the office managers. 1) they will nag you about getting credit with them 2) they will offer you services you do not need. When all fail they overcharged. Ann the finance manager is a weasel together with Brenda. They collected payments from my insurance for the same amount they charged me. Even with proof of the overpayment, they refused to credit the overpayment. Greed is not a good thing. I will definitely let the better business bureau know about their practice. Since moving to VA, I've been coming here for about a year and am always extremely happy with the excellent service and professionalism from Dr Hanania and his staff. Its a very clean facility with state-of-art dental equipment (and TVs in each room to boot!). Everything from the email reminders, to the check-in, to the actual cleaning/dental procedure is very professional. Normally I just have cleanings done, but had to have a crown done just a few weeks ago. It went smoothly--all in a couple hrs, imaging the tooth using some very neat technology (CAD/CAM -- computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) and then milling the crown on-site and installing it. They called to make sure I was fine, but I haven't had any pain or issues since I had it put in. All-in-all, highly recommend this dentist. You get a very kind, trustworthy, and friendly dentist and staff and a clean, state-of-art facility. read more

I cannot express my hatred for this office enough. I switched them to my main dentist based on reviews. I came for an emergency visit after having something stuck in my gums which caused pain. I was told I needed scaling/deep cleaning and was shown a quote for an exorbent fee on a laptop (never printed or provided.) I have never been given bad news by a dentist, as I care for my teeth properly. I requested to have minor work done and my regular cleaning and I was told I could t until I had the deep cleaning or scaling. I got two second opinions right away with X Rays and was told that it was 'ridiculous' to have been told I needed the deep cleaning/scaling and both dentists said if they submitted to my insurance that the claim would be undoubtedly denied based on the X-rays alone. Thank god I didn't return and pay that incredibly large fee and get the unnecessary work done. Both dental offices from the second opinion said I would be doing myself a disservice if I got that deep cleaning done. I called back again requesting a regular cleaning and for them to take a second peek and the woman at the desk told me I would be 'wasting my time and (their) time' because once they make that diagnosis there is no changing. I am confident they assumed I would pay that money out of pocket and my question why it wasn't submitted to insurance. My dental insurance wouldn't allow a second provider switch, so I went the entire year without a regular cleaning. First time that has happened in my life. I've gone through braces, teeth whitening, and all my regular visits without missing a beat until this office came into my life. Thank god I now have a dentist that actually cares about me and doesn't put his wallet first. read more

This is absolutely the worst operated office I have ever had the experience of using. Several times the office administrator, Brenda and one of the aids Anne were caught in horrific lies. I gave the appropriate information on my insurance and it was not processed correctly. I gave them the correct information and was assured it would be handled. The insurance company was clear that they had never received a claim from them but they swore (until today) that it had been submitted. All in all, they referred my case to a collection agency. I left the doctor several messages, attempting to figure out what went wrong and to rectify the issue. Out of nine calls I received no responses. After they knew they were caught in lies, I had an office full of people listening to both of the calls to witness the conversation, Brenda put me on hold and never came back. Anne answered and rudely told me that I'd have to contact the collections agency. If I were you I'd stay clear of this establishment. Run, and I do mean run, to another doctor who's office will handle your case both professionally and with integrity. read more

I have been coming here as a patient as well as my entire family and friends ever since Dr. Hanania took over which is close to 15 years now. He is an excellent dentist hands down, I might be biased as he is my oldest and dearest friends but I have always felt at home with his most experienced and professional staff. Everyone is friendly, courteous , organized and most of all great smile. I drive over an hour every time for my appointments, just to show you that I do what I preach. Been there once will not be back. The receptionist are snoody. I don't think the dr introduced himself, he just told me about my teeth and what they were going to do. The girls couldn't figure out who was going to clean my teeth so I sat in the back for awhile. Hygienist told me she was going to give me this mouth wash to take home for the bleeding of my gums, didn't know I was going to pay for it until i got my invoice while checking out. They messed up my invoice 4 times bc they couldn't figure out my estimate for my next visit.. Seriously? Anywho I was persuaded to get the rotadent toothbrush which was fine.. The only thing I had to pay for was the toothbrush and the mouthwash, $160 no biggie. Used care credit was told I had a month interest free(everywhere I've used care credit they've given me anywhere from 6-18 mos interest free) but ehh.. Overrall 2 stars for the nice clean facility. read more

I've gone to this dentist for years. They recently began texting rather than calling to confirm appointments. I was due for an appointment this fall, when I happened to be going through a very challenging personal time for my family. On two different dates they texted me to confirm and I responded "NO" to each and then promptly rescheduled in good faith, as I intended to make my appointment whenever I could. I then received a bill for more than $100 for missed appointments, and was told the only way part of the bill would be forgiven was if I came back for another appointment - but even then I'll be responsible for some of the missed appointments that I CLEARLY CANCELLED. The staff said it was my problem that their text messaging system doesn't receive "NO" texts. I will NOT be going back - the patient is NOT the first priority. You've lost my business and my family's business. read more

Super friendly staff. I have a difficult daughter who hates the dentist but the staff at Dr. Hanania took their time and patiently worked with her. They were able to coax her in the chair and do her cleaning. Amazing! You can tell by just sitting in the chair that they have a cohesive staff who help each other out. The staff at Dr. Hanania's office is so nice, helpful, and pleasant. Everyone works together to make sure that you are completely educated on what is going on and what needs to happen. They are very punctual with getting you in at your appointment time, there is not a long wait in the lobby to be seen. I am terrified to go to the dentist. As a new patient and the guinea pig for my family, I had no clue what to expect and I was extremely nervous. Needless to say before I was halfway through the first visit my nervousness was gone. I of course asked a lot of questions and they completely answered them in a manner in which I felt they cared and were talking to me not at me. The dental procedures that my family has had done there gone great (considering it's still the dentist). I have recommend several co workers to them. The fact that they take my current dental insurance when my choices are so limited is another huge bonus. read more
