I have an atmospheric river of respect and appreciation for Great Way Roofing! We had an older roof on our home in Camarillo, CA, with a number of leaks and outdated lightweight tiles that broke if you looked at them funny. By Dec 2021 it was time for a replacement with something that we can walk on when necessary. We had to wait a few months (there's a reason this team is busy!), but once the work commenced in late March 2022, we could not have been happier. Rod, Tony and the crew treated me like a brother, the tear-off took just 3/4 of one day, and we had our beautiful new 40-year CertainTeed Shingle roof in place in just four days. I waited until Jan 2023 to write this because the measure of any new roof is its water resistance. After record rainfall in Dec and Jan I can't find a single leak on our large roof, and believe me I have looked. When you're writing the checks you can't imagine the warm, fuzzy feeling something mundane but expensive like a quality new roof will give you, but believe me, when it rains in buckets, you will be oh-so happy you did it right. One great part of the Great Way process is the estimate. Unlike many roofing companies (I got 3 other estimates), Rod & co were honest about the unseen possibilities following the tear-off and included some basic plywood sheathing/other wood replacement costs in their estimate, and detailed additional wood cost down to the dollar. Two other companies told us that they couldn't estimate wood replacement costs until after (we committed with them) the tear-off, and when I followed up with some of their customers it was clear that they had been ripped-off in this area. Caveat emptor -- roofing companies like to tack on exorbitant and often unnecessary wood replacement costs. Great Way went over every inch with me before and after, and in fact gave me a break on some additional fascia boards I asked them to replace. The other Great part is the follow-up. I asked for several special considerations (involving a skylight, ridgeline shingles, etc) that had to be dealt with a month or two after the main install, and GW sent their main man over to deal with every one in a timely manner. Greatway was recommended to us several years ago when we needed a repair done. Matt came over to give us a quote. He gave us two options, one to save money (small local repair) and a more expensive one he could guarantee (repair up to the ridge). He talked straight and was very easy going and made us feel very comfortable, so we went forward with using Greatway for that repair, which was proven successful in the next rainstorm. A few years later, we sprung another leak and didn't hesitate to call Matt again, and again another successful repair. When it finally came time to replace the whole roof, there was no question who to call. This time, Brandon came out. He was every bit as straight and easy going as Matt. We spent a long time deciding on materials and colors, and Brandon and the office staff were very accommodating in providing us with addresses nearby where we could go see our choices on other homes. With our decisions made, a date was set. Greatway showed up when they said they would, and over a few days the old roof was gone and the new one installed. Tony oversaw the work and was very patient with our questions and special requests. Brandon came by to check in. They both stayed in communication via text message, even sending us periodic photos and videos from the rooftop to show us progress along the way. The crew left the entire property clean and orderly each day and everyone conducted themselves absolutely professionally. The job was completed slightly below the contracted price (given our special requests, we were expecting it to be more!). I contacted GreatWay for a quote on replacing my old and rotting 2x4's on my slatted patio cover with a flat roof, something that I had wanted to do for several years and did not want to take on myself. It was a relatively small job, essentially a 14 foot by 14 foot area, and I was afraid they would think the job was too small to bother with. They promptly came out following my initial call and had a price for me the next day. The quote was well within the amount I had budgeted for the job, and within a week they had me scheduled for the replacement. All the work was completed in a few hours, the slats replaced with plywood siding, metal flashing and caps installed, and peel & stick roofing roll installed and trimmed. What a difference it made, I couldn't have been happier! Rod, Tony, and Fernando left the place cleaner than before they started the job, not something that many contractors seem to think or care about. The work was done in between the rains we had this spring, and after one of the heavier downpours Rod contacted us to make sure we had no leaking issues (which I was happy to tell him that we did not). I found GreatWay to be a "great way" to upgrade my patio cover and enhance my outdoor experience in my own backyard. I don't post many reviews; if I have an issue I with a business I prefer to handle directly with them rather than through a "digital soapbox." Needed to replace my 40 year old roof, and got estimates from 4 companies. I selected GreatWay because (1) I had received personal recommendations from two other people, and (2) they provided the best price for the full roof installation, whereby two other companies had estimates about $5K-6K higher. Tim R. was assigned my project, and he communicated with me at every step of the way, from the initial estimate, to the preparation for the job (including personally moving a pile of tiles from a neighbor's house, who was giving them to me), the job itself, and the follow up afterward. The project itself took about 4 working days, and the lead worker, Emilio, was professional, and I was texted updates on the project (with brief films) each day. The only follow-up I had to do was to arrange a painter to paint some of the unpainted boards that required painting after replacement of wood rot. Also, there were nails on the back sides of the fascia boards that the painter said needed to be removed, but Tim and Emilio came out right away and removed and sanded down the nails so the painter could paint over the nail spots. The roof is now replaced with a lifetime warranty (Tim said to just call them if we notice any future issues). Lastly, no up front payment was required. I was allowed to pay in full with a check once the project, and its follow-up, were completed. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with GreatWay. They met or exceeded all of our expectations. Matt, our project manager, communicated with us regularly and was always available to answer questions. The crew worked hard and they were very respectful and friendly. The work took 4 days to complete but they cleaned up every day and didn't leave messes for us to work around. Our roof was 35 years old and had been repaired a couple of times by other roofers, but the repairs didn't hold up for very long and we had big leeks over the garage for several years. Finally we bit the bullet and decided to get a full "lift and replace" job done. The recent rain storm was a very good test and we have a great looking roof that doesn't leek. We reviewed several bids and GreatWay was not only the lowest price, but also offered the best quality materials and process. The crew was super. They were skillful, respectful, and professional. The job was done extremely well and on time, including clean up. Prior to installing the new roof, GreatWay repaired some construction gaps caused by the original builder. We were so satisfied, that we used Greatway to also replace roofs on our two children's homes, a rental property, and have referred them to other neighbors. We had a possible leak in our roof so we called GreatWay to come out and inspect. Tim arrived on time and we explained the concern. Within 15 - 20 minutes, he got up on the roof, found there was a crack in one of the tiles and sealed it up. He took pictures and explained everything to us about how it may have happened and even checked out the rest of the roof. The best part was he didn't charge us anything! I'm extremely pleased with my experience with GreatWay Roofing repairing the roof on my commercial building in Santa Clarita. Two previous contractors had failed miserably at fixing multiple leak issues, even after multiple tries over several years.
