Chicken souvlaki tender and potatoes are lemony. Calamari fresh and crispy. We tried the Ktipiti (whipped feta with hot pepper) dip and it was tasty, just a tad salty. We stopped in for a late lunch. We had the Lunch pork souvlaki special. The Greek salad was amazing. I would get a large salad n it's on for a meal as it was one of the best I've had. The lunch size is the same I think as the dinner size. The lemon potatoes could have used a little more lemon but overall were great. Went this evening to Greek Tycoon Restaurant for some take out The restaurant is located in Whitby near Brock St and the 401 We heard of this being a popular spot for Greek food in Durham We ordered and paid ahead this evening to make things easy with regards to picking up the food The service there was friendly The restaurant is small and intimate There is not a lot of seating and I would recommend going early or not at a busy time as the restaurant was busy and packed on a Saturday at 6pm My wife ordered a chicken Caesar salad I ordered a pork souvlaki on a pita with a small fries I got an ample amount of fries for a small The pork souvlaki on a pita was super yummy and tasty My only suggestion given the restaurant's popularity.....find a bigger location for more seating because I think it would benefit them positively I would definitely go back again here for Greek food read more

Now open to eat in, after a long time during/after COVID when they were mainly takeout. They have renovated beautifully! Lovely atmosphere, terrific service & menu. Unfortunately I fail to see why this is so highly rated, it left us extremely disappointed. To start with they forgot to include 3 items we ordered, this was followed up with the moussaka and rice being flavourless. The only flavour the rice had was from the pool of oil it was sitting in, and there was so much rice included with the platter it was comical. The size of a lamb chop for eleven dollars is criminal, the lemon wedge included is nearly bigger!! The only things that were deemed edible by our group were the lemony potatoes, and chicken souvlaki wrap. Some dishes at Greek Tycoon are superior to those popular Greek restaurants on the Danforth, I think. I have been a big fan of Greek Tycoon for a few years, and have had their food several times, eat-in, take-out, delivery ... whenever the craving hits! This time, we ordered (Uber delivery. Dine-in is currently closed) - Chicken Souvlaki (with rice and potato, small Greek salad) - Greek Salad (large) - Spanakopita - Calamari fries I always order their Greek Salad. Vegetables are super-duper fresh and crispy! The dressing has a perfectly balanced mix of olive oil, herbs, salt, and vinegar. The lettuce (head lettuce) is crispy and had a delicate texture. Once coated with the dressing, and thrown in the mouth, it releases natural sweetness as you chew, and there is no unpleasant stringiness. Feta is softly crumbled, not too salty, and full of milk flavor. Again, so delicate. Green pepper gives you a crunchy sound as you chew! All the different textures are absolutely enjoyable. Another favorite is calamari fritters. I have not had any Calamari fritters better than Greek Tycoon. The meat is tender, and the coating is perfect. Crispy, thin, and never too salty. Chicken Souvlaki is great as always, tender and juicy. Especially- with the rice pilaf and Greek potato that came with this. The pilaf absorbs light and fresh Greek flavors - a simple side dish but savory with bursting flavor. The pilaf is cooked slightly sticky without the full-blown starchiness. Great texture, and is very different from other types of rice. Their lemon-roasted Greek Potato is another refreshing side dish that we love. These side dishes bring out the best of the Souvlaki. Having ordered different food items from here, I have found hit-and-miss. But the food items that we had today are always great! Next time, I want to order Lamb Exohiko (lamb, feta, and cheese in a phyllo pastry) - another favorite of mine! read more

I've been ordering takeout from Greek Tycoon for three years and it's always delicious and comes in big portions. Tonight, we ordered the moussaka and chicken souvlaki dinners. The food was ready for pickup when we arrived and hot. The moussaka was rich and flavourful. The chicken was tender and the tzatziki is tangy, but good. I have two separate experiences with this restaurant. One being off of Uber, and the other being dining in. Uber: At the time, Uber had a buy 1 get 1 promo for their souvlakis, spanakopita, and some other things. The food is delicious. Simply delicious. The tzatziki being the subpar part, everything else was delicious. Obviously with Uber, the food isn't as fresh, but I reheated the spanakopita in the air fryer, and the chicken souvlaki in the over. The chicken was tender and delicious, the spanakopita was flaky, and filled with spinach and goodness. Loved it. Almost too much lol. My mom ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, and it was also really good. Nothing ground breaking, but it was a good meal. Potatoes, chicken, rice, lots of salad. The dressing, not a fan of at all, but I usually don't dress my salads, cause calories and stuff. Dine in: Was really nice. It's a clean and family feeling restaurant. Nothing about it screams chains at all. The waitress was polite and the customer service was good. I ordered the souvlaki dinner with salad. Freshly made it was fantastic and I finished the meal with a baklava. The baklava isn't something I was use too. It was good, but I'd probably pass on it because it didn't blow me away. I ordered a couple of items from the menu that I was told were no longer available. The manager suggested I get the lamb chops cooked medium, so I decided to try them. Absolutely delicious! Quite possibly the best lamb I've ever had. My wife doesn't eat lamb, but when she tried some of mine, she agreed it was delicious! The saganaki was great and the bread was also very good; much better than the bread served at chain Greek restaurants. The sides were also top quality and cooked perfectly. I have been meaning to review this place as I had posted the yummy pics of my steak and potatoes over 3 years ago...but it's now or never. The Greek Tycoon is a very snazzy restaurant with low, ambient lighting (except for the occasional burst of flame and sudden heat with 'Opa!' being recited as the saganaki was being lit). Nevertheless, I always order the steak and potatoes even to this day because the steak is juicy and I love Greek style potatoes. The salad is pretty good and they give you fresh baked bread while waiting for your meal. Overall, the Greek Tycoon is one of my favourites in Durham. read more

First time trying this restaurant. Small, cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The service from Corey was exceptional. Never did I run out of water. He was always stopping by with a smile. Food was delicious! We couldn't finish everything so he got us take out boxes and brought a fresh small container of tatiziki, to take with left over chicken souvlaki! Then he came and tied the containers up in a bag for us to easily carry. It was the little details that had me very impressed, made the entire dining experience effortless! Tucked away in South Whitby lies the Greek Tycoon. A restaurant with a family atmosphere and family sized portions. A classic décor leads to classic Greek dishes and new favourites. I've been here a few times and I keep going back to try something new. The best part is that you really can't go wrong. The only advice I can give is to stick to Greek food; it's what they do best. We all know and love Souvlaki and it's damn good. This time I tried the Pasta Medallions. It was ok. I wouldn't try it again. The sauce and pasta was plain. There's so many choices on the menu, I wished I had picked a Greek dish. My favourite is either the Tycoon Chicken(HUGE portion) or the Chicken Shishkebob(juiciest chicken on the planet). Most dishes come with rice, potatoes and mixed veggies. My mom ordered the Exohico. It's HUGE. She ate until she couldn't eat anymore and it looked like she hadn't touched it. Under the phyllo crust, lay seasoned lamb and a slew of roasted vegetables. The leftovers lasted 3 meals!! Service is always good. The food is always good. Prices are great. The Greek Tycoon is hands down my favourite place for Greek food in the GTA. I always get the same thing - the saganaki as an app, and for my main, the chicken souvlaki dinner which is always incredible. The potatoes and rice are light and full of flavour, the chicken is cooked perfectly, the salad is always so very fresh, and the atmosphere is usually busy but always a comfortable one. I highly recommend the food here but would encourage you to make reservations in advance if you are going for dinner as it gets busy. read more

Drove by this little restaurant for many years, finally decided to give it a try and was very pleasantly surprised! A very cute little family restaurant, the small space is used to seat many tables but not too close that you don't fell like you are dining with strangers. I visited this restaurant with a party of 16 to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary on August 19/19. There were complimentary flowers on the table for the Happy Couple! The food was excellent, cooked to perfection as ordered. The service was beyond wonderful. Our server was timely, friendly and professional. We stayed for two and a half hours and our server was never out of our sight but not hovering. He was great! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. We were told 2 different reasons for table not being ready. Finally sat at a makeshift table and were given a free appetizer.
