With a babbling brook my dog hydrated, pooped (which contained short sections of the beef teriyaki sticks he stole Friday night), and a trail to a cemetery. We met the owners and had a wonderful chat before grabbing a large web sack for apples Sue wanted for several apple crisps she had planned on making. Though the orchards are relatively small in comparison to something like Butternut Farm, it's just a beautiful setting out there. I had a great time dragging the wagon along behind Sue while she gathered up her quota. You can start off by taking brown bags or berry cartons at the entrance storefront. There are TONS of fields to explore: we explored fields of raspberries, elderberries, blueberries, and then you get to the apple orchards. There are SO many varieties of apples. I would make sure you have some good shoes because in some areas of the apple orchard, there are some steep inclines. If there is rain, it can also get slippery. There is also a HUGE pumpkin patch, flower fields that are available for picking, and a CORN MAZE - the latter is $6 entrance fee! Again, so much to do. Unfortunately I did not have time to experience the corn maze because it started raining by then. If I could make a suggestion, It would be nice for some of the trees to have a suspended net around the bottom of the tree (maybe this isn't optimal for weight purposes). But so many apples fall off the tree- or people drop them while picking. It seems a shame to go to waste, so would be cool if there were a way to catch them before hitting the ground and bruising/ resting in dirt. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. It was a ton of fun to visit the farm with so much to do, and delicious apples. PLUS Mac's Maple is also down the road so that was our next stop!

So we decided to check it out. The farm is a nice visit. We were greeted by Nancy, and her energetic dog, Guss. We picked up a bucket, given a quick tutorial on the best way to pick blueberries, and off we went. We picked nearly a pound of blueberries in about 45-50 minutes. It was a nice activity. We tried some of the blueberries and they were delightful. Nancy was very pleasant and friendly. Worth stopping by.

Baby goats, baby cows, peacocks, and many other types of animals were around for feeding and petting. $1 entrance fee for the petting zoo? Yes please, all day long. We also spent a few dollars in their gift shop, which had the world famous apple cider donuts that you can buy by the bag. Sugar or no sugar is up to you. Crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Made fresh to order. Lots of other snacks around too for those with impulse control issues. Freeze dried everything is apparently a thing. When you walk up, they hand you however many buckets you want to fill. I like how you can put them around your neck so you can pick berries with both hands. He definitely could have been A LOT nicer than he was but he had no problem harassing us. Honestly the pumpkin patch was not even "photo shoot worthy" if that was our "grand plan". This guy didn't do us any favor by letting us in 3 minutes after they closed either. We should have left as soon as that happened.
