I came to spend time and shop at this mall with my 10 year son and one year old daughter yesterday, everything was fine until this old lady came and literally push my daughter, she then proceeded to hit me because I confronted her, then the two other people who were with her jump in to try and attack me, I had to chase them out to with my two kids to get their plate number to get a report from the police, all the way to Walmart when I was trying to do that they then proceeded to move their vehicle as I was trying to take a picture, keep in mind I had the dispatcher on the phone while these people were getting away after assaulting a baby and a mother of two, the police didn't respond right away and the security we're just standing around doing nothing, the security manager didn't seen to care over what just occurred, and seen unfazed or unbothered, I explain to him that my daughter was push and I was jump and no sense of caring, they didn't even bother to look at the cameras. The cop was being dismissive tag 2125 and didn't even care, I had witnesses who saw the whole thing and he was being to the two lady's saying to mind their own business, bad experience please don't bring your kids here because this mall is not safe for anyone especially kids. The lady with the grey shirt told the officer that I scratched her and the play the victim when she in fact was the aggressor went on top of me and I had to defend myself and the cop believed her side of the story read more

Been coming to this mall since 1995. I even used to work summers at one the retail boutiques, Danice. It has changed somewhat in my the last 5 years since COVID but the basics remain. jC Penny has been replaced by primark but the macys remains. The men's store is separate from women's now on opposite sides of the mall which can be a bit annoying but the stores are kept very tidy and organized. The food court has all the basic staples. it remains convenient if you need quick outfit/shoes or accessories and don't want to trek to Roosevelt. read more

I haven't been to Green acres in many years. Made a stop on a weekday early afternoon, it was quiet and my shopping event was successful. I didn't get to travel far into the mall itself but it is clean and the stores are well kept. I will return. read more

I remember first going to this mall many, many years back in the 1970s when I was a student. It was truly a beautiful mall. Yes, it was small, but the stores were interesting and I enjoyed Radio Shack as well as the restaurants such as Cookies and House of Chang (totally fake Chinese food but still it was fun just going there). It was really safe to walk at night from the mall to these restaurants. It was also fun to go to the flea market they used to have at the drive in there on Saturdays. There was also a hamburger place in the mall that had the greatest pickles on the table which we used to enjoy. Again, the mall was nothing fancy, but it was CLEAN and NICE and SAFE. When I went back the US a couple of years back I decided to make a trip to this once great mall. We were there about 5 pm and it was still sunny, but OMG, the mall, while greatly expanded, has become one big GHETTO MALL. It seems as if every gang member and their mothers were there shopping. I just didn't feel safe. To top it all off, the mall was dark and dingy with most of the stores selling glorified garbage. The last thing I wanted to do was to have dinner in that place. We were there about 40 minutes and that was all we could stand. We hi-tailed it back to the LIRR station and got the hell out of there. Some friends in Japan have asked me if it was worth it to go to this mall, and I have told them that if they make a trip to NYC they should skip this mall and in fact not think much about shopping in general. It's really sad to see that this mall, like so much of NY and the US in general, has gone down so much. I'm sorry I made that trip there, but at least I still have my memories. read more

Still one of my favorite malls to shop at,especially during the holiday.I brought my 2 yr old son to take pictures with santa claus in this mall. He enjoyed him self it was a cool experience for him. I also took him to the little motor bikes right up from santa. We road them for about 15 minutes . The motor bikes cost 10 dollars to ride for 15 minutes .The family next spot was to foot locker, the spot was nice and clean with good customer service sale people. Macy's is still there after all them yrs. You have auntie Annie's for your favorite pretzel's ,and a food court with Popeyes chicken. You also have walmart and target right next to the mall ,walmart is a couple of minutes walk from the mall. A lot has change at this mall since I was a little kid. But to take my son here for that full mall holiday shoping experience was awesome. I know because of the Internet many families don't go out to the mall ,they just have their gifts delivered to there home's . Over the years Green Acres Mall has drastically changed. I appreciate some of the changes and yet a part of me misses the mall I used to hang out at when I was in high school. On the flip side grown mature me loves all of the new stores that fit my style now. As stores are closing due to the pandemic the mall is still changing but some of the mainstays such as Macy's, Sears and Victoria's Secret still remain. The mall is still a sneaker lovers heaven with a sneaker store additions ofHouse of Hoops and Laced Up. In the larger shopping plaza you can find restaurants, home good stores a super Target and a super Walmart. Green Acres Plaza had turns into a one stop shop and I love that! Mask up and go have yourself a shopping spree. read more

When an iconic store like Macy's must include, Toys R Us, Finish Line, Last Act and Starbucks to boost profits, something is wrong and sends the message that it can't stand on it's own. Why is there no more JC Penney, Century 21, and stores on the scale of those found at Roosevelt Field and Queens Center. I'm walking distance from Green Acres Mall but prefer Queens Center Mall and Roosevelt Field malls because the variety and selections are much better. People living in the vicinity of Green Acres Mall should not have to travel further out to other malls in search of quality. Hopefully the planned renovations to this mall will make shopping an exciting and pleasurable experience allowing local residents to enjoy shopping close to home. Walmart at Green Acres can use some help as well. It's always crowded and a nightmare to checkout, easier to order on line for delivery, which is the only way to have an enjoyable experience. read more

i use to to this mall awhile ago it changed like a new town more places added and other gone when i was there i always got adidas jacket and nikes and the champs person gave me a great price for timberland gear which was 190.00 and the guy just put a 90 on it i thank this fella the women at the kiosks were funny alway wanting to try there cream on anyone charlies for philly and fries they gave coupons which really worked the all you can eat chinese place was always giving the right menu at times i would watch from my window the outside mall and i witness a group of motorcylist pop a wheeling there i was going there maybe 4 times a week then it got quiet with the crimes in the parking place a woman was killed other robbed it not a nice place when it changes that way read more

Absolutely garbage mall. I can not recommend whatsoever. The staff of 5 stores could not be bothered to help us. In the other 6 it was like pulling teeth. Packs of teenagers screaming and threatening passerby's. Mall security was non existent or when they were there...did nothing. Stay away. read more

Hey friends! Welcome to the newly renovated Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, NY. Wow, walking inside I could see that the Mall was dull no more. I could eat and explore here all day long. My bank was located right inside, nice and convenient. Walking inside, I could see the place was really become upscale. Many stores had just been remodeled. The whole place had an exciting revamped vibe. Taking the brand-new escalators to the 2nd floor, I was on a mission to get a new iPad at the newly renovated T-Mobile on 2nd floor. After successfully completing my mission, I stopped at the food court right next door to get some Asian fare. Now I'm ready to rock and roll. First, Holiday shopping at Century 21 Department store. I usually never leave there without something. Next, I needed to get a case for wifey's new iPad. The Phone Fix store was wonderful in helping me. The Rainbow, Women's clothing always has the cutest fashions for wifey. I could see from their window displays that leopard print is in this season. I Just love relaxing and shopping at the Green Acres mall, it's all nice and clean with exciting new stores. I could hang out for hours. I'm looking forward to trying the Chipotle which is right inside the mall. There are other mainstream restaurants here as well. I usually choose to shop at the Green Acres Mall because it's easy in an easy out. I always find parking in the Target lot and walk across the street. The entrance is right there and even in the holiday season it's much faster to get what you need and leave then many other larger malls. I usually shop at this mall at least once a week I have to make a list or else I'll buy too many things. . I'd like to say thanks to the nice folks, employees and vendors at the Green Acres Mall, you all work great together to make it easy for me to find whatever I need. read more

In the food court A&D Buffalo is the spot, they've always got a line because people love the wings. It's been my go to for quite some time. I've got one issue with this place and that's Mike Dimeno. His attitude sucks, he acts as if he doesn't like people and doesn't want to be bothered, yet he is taking all the orders. I thought he had a bad day, but after several visits I conclude every day is a bad one for Mike Dimeno and I wish I didn't have to interact with him. A&D please do us all a favor and allow Mike Dimeno to complete his job with from the back without interacting rudely with customers. Lemon Pepper is my go to flavor. I love the dry rub. There was some good name brand stores like Macy's, Hollister and American Eagle. Food court was decent. Tables were a bit dirty which I'm sure came from bad parents letting their children do whatever the hell they want. (Sticky stuff was on the SIDES of the table). The food places were fine. Some stores had good deals. So you'll probably find something you want in here. My experience was safe and I saw security patrolling. No rats and not ghetto like other reviewers have experienced. read more

Preface: This review is more of a recap of the stores I've seen at Green Acres Mall. Been coming here for a while as it's the closest mall to me. It's more of a plaza meet mall though. A lot of the stores such as Olive G, Bronx BBQ, Fridays, Red Lobster, BJs, Target, Wallmart, Best Buys etc are on the same Green Acres compound, but not in the mall building itself. There's the Sunrise Cinema next door. There's a Starbucks a Cinnabon, nail shop, and a book store downstairs and kiosks with loads of phone, accesories, health supplements and other accoutrements. Chase bank is opposite Applebee's on the exit leading to Target. Upstairs you'll find a food court, smoothie bar and other stores. There are familiar brand name stores like Bath and Body works, Old Navy, Hennys, Clairs, Jimmy Jazz, Aeropostale, Lane Bryant, Aldo, Charlotte Russe, Rainbow, Forever21, G by Guess, Vic S and Express (what I can remember). The mall hosts lots of unfamiliar clothes and shoe stores as well. Even with Macy's and JCPenny the mall to me still has the feel of a teen hangout spot. Green Acres Mall is constantly being refurbished so don't be surprised to see cordoned off areas. Even heard talks of a Century 21's soon arrival! From memory that's about it. The End. read more

This mall has very little social distancing enforced in their common areas. I was appalled to see the number of people with either no mask, partial mask wearing, Incorrect mask wearing and virtually social distancing. I noticed there were sanitizer stations throughout but I didn't see anyone using them. I got halfway into the mall in decided to leave because it was just too congested and not enough people following the rules. I felt claustrophobic. read more

Y'all... Don't EVER do business at the Perfume Point kiosk in Greenacres mall. I hardly ever go to this mall because it's ghetto AF but they have a store there that I couldn't find at Roosevelt Field Mall. **Anyhoo this kiosk is at both malls and it's a rip off. ** Overpriced, no refunds and it must pay cause the employees DGAF if they keep that rinky dink job or not so they are beyond rude at least this particular one is. Part two tomorrow, getting in touch with the owner so at least they know who they have representing their products and can decide how they'd like to proceed going forward. The employee in question is a short Hispanic 4'11" with black hair. The kiosk is located in front of Charlotte Rousse on the woman's Macy's side. If you like being overcharged, hung up on and threatened because you had a bad user experience and are vocal about it, than this is your spot if you would like good customer service and fair prices go to Perfumania, it's a few doors down in the other direction and it's a much better experience all around. read more

This used to be the go-to mall back in the day. Over the course of time it became boring, dull, and no longer the place to hang out or go shopping. At one point I worked at Aeropostale for a week, but decided to quit because retail wasn't my thing. Besides the fact that I dreaded traveling from Flushing/Kew Gardens to Valley Stream via MTA 5 days a week. Over the course of the years I've seen it go through the it's changes. Some minimal and some drastic. As of lately Green Acres is working on revamping its appearance to appeal to different crowds other than the people that frequent it. Customer service skills are not a prerequisite for the employees that work in this mall. The lack of basic knowledge of a product and being greeted upon entry into a store baffles my mind. Everyone has an unnecessary attitude. God forbid if you ask a question -- you are met with rolled eyes and a defensive response. read more

I loathe this mall. I have always lived close so it kinda becomes the easy choice when looking to do any quick shopping trips. Now I live so close I can walk, so sadly I still go. I came back one day to find my car had been broken into with the alarm still wailing and security in the next aisle dealing with a flat tire. They even said they heard the alarm go off but didn't check. Thanx guys. And yes I drove around the mall and reparked. The thieves there are always watching, I swear they have walkie talkies. I have been in the mall during a stabbing in front of JC Penney's (11/08) and witnessed fights. One positive thing I will say the mall has undergone a major facelift and the store choices are getting better. Good luck! read more

Green acres. Man oh man. Having been coming here since I was little, I have plenty of memories of being a younging strolling through the mall. By time I was 13 I despised everything about it. Granted, they've done some renovations and are adding stores but usually its just the people in there that make it unpleasant. It's pretty annoying running in to Victoria's secret and having herds of young boys whistling and howling at me. Plenty of hoodlums hang out here, not buying a thing. Just kicking it in the mall. As far as malls go, there are surely better ones not too far. Save yourself the headache and go to qcm or Roosevelt field read more

This is a great mall! Each store has it's own parking lot which houses 100+ cars. There are a lot of stores to visit - from Best Buy and Macy's to JCPENNEY and Walmart. There is a store here that will have what you are looking for. There is a bus (Q85) that runs through here but they get filled really quickly and most folks have a ton of bags with them. There is a large food court with several options for you to choose from. Overall a great mall that is continuously expanding. read more

Growing up in Brooklyn this wasn't my local shopping area to frequent. However, I do remember taking the $1 van back when it was $1 to the mall from the last stop on the E train. When I moved to Queens over 10 years ago I still never made this my mall to hit up when I wanted some retail therapy. If you don't live in the immediate area it's a bit of a distance, especially if you don't have a vehicle so I stick to Queens Center Mall which is much closer for me. The last time I was there I was surprised of the new stores and upkeep of the place. It was clean and not too crowded, considering it was a weekday. The parking lot was still a madhouse and I believe it will always be. LOL If I am in the area I wouldn't hesitate to check this mall out unless its the weekend or holidays. read more

This 1 star was for my experience at Zales Jewelers. Me, My now fiance & best friend went in this store to fit some engagement rings. At the time they were trying to suprise me on the engagement but wanted to know my ring size so I said OK no problem. But the excitement inside was ripped right out of me by how horrid we were treated at this place. When I went to try on a ring the security told me to "SIT DOWN MAAAM" like I was going to steal the ring or something. So I did sit down bc I liked the ring so much than when my best friend went to take a picture the bitch (and yes she was a huuuuge, unprofessional, rude, bitch) told him its against company policy for you to take pictures of our jewelery. Than the security came to stand right by us, no respect or privacy AT ALL. I asked the security if she could move a lil bit bc I could literally smell her hot breath on the back of my neck. And she refused to move. At that point we started feeling extremely uncomfortable in there. Almost like we were being racially profiled. And this security was purposely doing this for us to leave. Maybe they had a robbery in that store or a horrible incident but that is NOT how you treat your customers, especially innocent young adults looking for a ring. IF YOU HAVE ANY MELANIN IN YOUR SKIN DO NOT GO IN THERE BC YOU WILL HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE THAT WILL MAKE YOUR SELF ESTEEM FEEL LOW. I have been comming to this mall for 23 years . I have seen it go through so many changes and I think the one its going theough now will be the best change ever. Ever since they built a Panera Bread and a Chipotle in the mall, the mall has been booming . They are building a Century 21 ! That store is going to be a huge hit. Macy's will actually have a lot of competition. The malls food court is pretty good. They have a Wendys, and multiple buffets and other famous food chains. The store selection is very limited. But that will change in a few years! Green Acres is changing for the better stay tuned. Overall, this will always be my go to mall for certain things. read more

Been here for the first time ever on Saturday 10/20/18 and the mall is massive and the entire shopping complex much bigger than expected. Lots and lots of sneakers store and a fully renovated Kohl's and all 4 carriers have corporate store there and a huge Chase branch for some reason. Far from fancy and I would actually categorize it as an organized shopping street a la Jamaica, Queens than a shopping mall. Not on the same level as Queens Center in Rego Park and not close to Roosevelt Field Mall in term of higher-end shopping. The food court is on the smaller side for a mall of this size and not much selection wise as 3 restaurants are the same Chinese-inspired-non-Chinese-food and then a teriyaki, a Wendy's, a Pepeye's, a bad pizza and a halal deli type grill. Price is decent and tables clean. read more

This mall has definitely gotten better. I used to avoid this mall like the plague and would go straight to Roosevelt Field Mall because of the fact that they didn't really have any great anchor stores or decent restaurants. However, they've added a few places like Dicks Sporting Goods, Starbucks, Pizza Rev, Chipotle, Century 21, BJ's Brewhouse, and a few other stores in the outlet mall that sits where Sunrise Cinemas used to be. There are still some improvements that can be made such as having 1) Nordstrom or Bloomingdales - I dont understand why this malll still doesnt have one of these anchor stores. 2) Macys Mens department inside the Macys store and not with the furniture 3) More restaurants - Joe's crab shack, a real sushi restaurant, shake shack, etc So for now, this mall gets a 3. read more

In my honest opinion, the mall did improve as far as looks. A mall is a mall though. You go there to shop and the real thing would be if that particular mall had the places that you usually shop at. The answer to that is yes. This mall has a lot of stores that I do shop at. They have sneaker stores (footlocker, champs, foot action, etc) department stores (Macy's , Jc penny, etc ) restaurants and so on. There is so much to choose from. This mall gets the job done. It's an in and out mall. There's not too many options so its not overwhelming, but then again it is a mall so you can depend on there being enough stores to get what you need and be on your way. I've never really seen Greenacres get crowded like most of the other malls I go to. Around the hoildays most shopping centers are like zoo's but green acres seems to maintain a low key setting kind of atmosphere. This is usually my go to mall for a quick run. I always get my nails done in at nail spa on the 2nd floor (I wish yelp would would list it so I can write a great review), its a really a great spot for UVgel manicures. I've never encountered any problems here like some like to talk about so until then you can always catch me here during the weekend, either eating, shopping or getting pretty! read more

I have mixed feelings about Green Acres Mall. It's a memorable place for me because my grandmother brought me here several times when I was a kid and took me to the Friendly's that was here. I remember purchasing Duke Nukem and WCW vs The World game for PlayStation one at Electronic Boutique next to the food court which is also no longer there. As a kid, my memories of Green Acres Mall was great. The place was thriving. Coming back to Green Acres Mall as an adult now, as a parent, and without grandma, the mall certainly had better days. We intended on coming to Green Acres for Kohl's and Century 21 but we decided to roam around the mall to see what else they have to offer. They have a few name brand stores along with Footlocker, Finish Line, Old Navy, and a few others. But for the most part, it's filled with crumb bum stores. One of the busiest business we saw was a nail salon. It looked massive and they were the busiest store in the entire mall. As for the food court, hot garbage. The only spots that were familiar to me were Wendy's and Sarku, the chicken teriyaki spot. The Starbucks looked super unorganized and really filthy when you get an aerial view from the escalator. They also had a freshly squeezed orange juice vending machine which was interesting at first but after a closer look at the mechanics of the machine inside, it's covered in mold. Verdict - Kohl's and Century 21 are worth going to but the rest of the mall including Sears is lacking new products. Many stores look and feel entirely outdated. The only stores that have a modern look were the sneaker stores. The parking lot/garages here are quite massive but the traffic control in the lot is a hot mess. There's barely any stop signs that would allow easier left turns at intersections of the parking lot. It's also right next to Advantage Toyota and they rent a large portion of the parking garage. The folks from Advantage often speed through the premises so be very careful when crossing. read more
