The company owner(his name is Mike), promised to me when he comes, he will come with some tools, but actually, when he showed up, he just took a bag of seeds and a bottle of herbicide with him, he had no tools at all(rediculous). Just used his hand to remove some weeds, sprayed some herbicide on the weeds, and randomly sprinkle grass seeds on the ground surface. He told me that he will assign some people to come to my yard and put some straw to help the grass grow. (but on the second day, nobody came at all.) It's about 2 hours job, he charged $700, he used an excuse that his bank did not accept my check, so I have to pay him with cash. After that, he promised he will come 2 months later, he will use machines to dig some holes on my lawn and overseeding. But when the time came, he did not show up, do not answer my phone, and just like to disappear. I used my wife's phone to call him(i never used my wife's number call him so he did not know it's me), he picked up very quickly( obviously he want to cheat more money from different people). On the phone, he said his schedule is full, but he will come back again, and after that, I can not hear from him again, he blocked both our phone calls obviously. It's my first time to meet this situation, NO HONESTY AT ALL. I used yelp for about 4-5 years, but this is my first review, I want people to know this company and do not be cheated by this guy. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY, UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOU MONEY!

If I could give negative stars on this company I would. I put a request on yelp for landscaping service and was contacted by Michael the owner. Over a couple days of text we were able to meet and go over what I needed done. His original estimate was $500, but after coming out and seeing the brush I wanted removed, he said it would be another $500. I went and got $1000 cash and paid him on the first day(big mistake because I did not get a receipt and now there is no record to show I paid, and the owner makes that clear that there is no record). And what bothers me the most is I am a single parent with a full time job, a part time job, and in school, so money isn't the easiest thing to come by, nor do I have the time to handle this job. This is why I reached out to a company for help. The first day he came out was March 2, it was really windy that day, so he was unable to finish the leaves. He came out a day or two later and bagged up some leaves, and cut down a few brush trees. Since then, there has been no progress on the job. The job was completely abandoned and even attempt to get Michael to come out and finish met with no results. Every time I contacted him there was some excuse as why he could not come out. He originally told me he had a number of crews working in different areas of Spotys/Fredericksburg, but not once did any "crew" ever come out to my house, nor did he ever make an attempt to get a crew to finish the job. I told him I wanted the job completed or my money back, and he then stated I never paid for the job and there is no money to return. He then stated the job was only for leaves, and never to have anything removed. When on the very first day he made a call to someone to ask how much it would be to drop off brush at the dump because he said it was not enough for a chipper machine. Two weeks, very little progress, and me having $1000 stolen from me, I DO NOT recommend this company at all. Ive included pictures of what was done to my yard, and the pile of trash just left everywhere.

Big Steve and Edwards both had very fair pricing and nice service over the phone, but I went with Kenny Jenkins on recommendation from a friend. Turned out to be a GREAT decision. Kenny Jenkin's had the lowest price (Steve and Edwards were very close) and the service was phenomenal. Michael (son-in-law of Kenny) and his team were fast, professional and very accommodating. I had a few small requests that they promptly took care of. They even cut up chunks of maple from the felled tree and put it in a box for me so I could use with my Big Green Egg. They cleaned up well too. Everything you want in a tree removal business. Heck, any business should be run like this. Kudos, guys.

Despite these challenges, there were NO problems as the team was very skilled. Additionally, they were punctual, worked hard, and cleaned up all the debris. Marvin came out to give an estimate. He was very courteous, prompt, and reassuring, and provided a reasonable cost to start the next morning in advance of the approaching bad weather system. He emailed a contract that evening along with his license and insurance verification. Ronnie then came on time the following day with his four-person crew, along with a big truck, wood chipper, chain saws, and all the necessary equipment. He confirmed the tasks to be done and then got started right away. His hard-working team was extremely skilled in safely climbing trees, cutting down branches, and carrying everything away. Even for removing tall trees that were close to the house or power lines, they were able to rig ropes so that very heavy branches were able to essentially parachute down to the ground without any problem. They worked diligently all day and when complete with the trees, they used a leaf blower and rake to clear all the small debris throughout the whole yard. Before payment we did a final walk-thru to inspect the job and ensure full satisfaction. We were very happy with their quality, professionalism, timeliness, and collaboration from start to finish and definitely recommend M&R for superb tree services.
