The friend I was with, who's a regular antique and estate sale shopper, told me it's one of her favorite places in Jeffersonville. She especially likes the jewelry. As soon as you walk in, it smells amazing. It's nice and bright, all the while maintaining the atmosphere you'd expect of stores alike. There are pieces of sheet music spread throughout the store as decorative pieces, which I love. There is sheet music that can be purchased as well, but I couldn't find anything for the cello, which is fine. Things are perfectly decorated, not too cluttered and not barren. My favorite part was all the books. I probably would have walked out with 10 books if I hadn't already had so many to read at home. The selection of old books was pleasing; dictionaries, story books, and text books amongst the ones I had had looked at. It took my S/O forever to drag me out of the store due to all the books I thought of buying whilst there. I purchased a small book and a large satchel of lavender. I thought it was great how they have bags of lavender that can be purchased, it's something you'd never expect and it smells divine. This was my first visit, but I'll be back again. I absolutely adore this store and all the treasures it holds. It's nice being able to go somewhere to see and purchase antique and vintage items and gifts, not every antique store out there is this nice!

She has completely ruined the trend of positive experiences that we've had at this shop. My husband and I shop here often. Ever since we discovered and visited this place the first time, we've often found real treasures. And today was no different from that perspective. We found a treasure. Long story short and without putting all of our business out there, her husband made a verbal agreement with us that we could pay on an item over time but still take it home today. We didn't ask for it. He offered. We accepted. We didn't have our truck with us so we had to come back and pick the item up. We also purchased 3 bar stools (paid in full) that we needed to come back for as well. We returned at 5pm today as we said we would. Paul wasn't there. His wife was. Once we announced what we were there to pick up, she said "about that. We don't make payment plans. This is a business. If you want your item you're going to have to pay for it in full today". So first of all, I know it's a damn business. Duh. And your husband made a business transaction and verbal agreement 5 hours ago. Even took a down payment. But you know, you're messing with my energy so let me go ahead and pay you this damn money! I don't need you calling no police on my husband who is a black man. And yes, I state that on purpose. Next I said we also needed to pick up the stools that we already paid for. She said she didn't know anything about picking up no stools. So that's what we're doing? So that's the game we're playing. So you know about a verbal agreement that your husband made with a black man that you're now reneging on but you don't remember that I PAID IN FULL for the barstools that I came to pick up?! Okay. Well here's my receipt. Furthermore, my husband gives her his credit card to pay the balance on the item since she reneged on an agreement that her husband made. My husband's name is on the credit card. Duh. And so she asks "Are you Chip"? No I'm Peter Pan! WTF?! So my husband said "here, you need to see my ID?" She says "oh no, I needed to look up your name for the item." You're lying. Because If that was REALLY the case, you would have looked up the same name on the damn credit card. Can't even fake the discrimination. During the conversation over the renege of their promise to let us pay over time, she said "I don't know you. I've never seen you in here before". Now this is the point I had to keep myself in check because I was about to snap out. She was the one who helped her husband 5 hours ago to wrap an item for us. When we came back to the front of the store, she had ran off. My husband asked her husband, "where'd your wife go". "She went in the back". Probably because she didn't want to help a black man. Point is this. You're lying. You don't REMEMBER seeing us in the store. You just saw us 5 hours ago. So get your facts straight. It's not that you've never seen us before. MAYBE you don't REMEMBER seeing us before (and that's assuming positive intent). We were there 5 hours ago. And you ran. And then she KEPT talking saying "we tried a payment plan once before..." blah blah blah blah. That ain't got shit to do with us. Not shit. Your husband made the agreement. Yes, we know it wasn't you. Clearly. Stop talking. I gave you your damn money. Now give me my shit. $400+ later, we are happy with our purchase but the experience with that woman was TERRIBLE. Lots of things appear to be used or cheap, Temu level. We asked for antique posters, we got a print that we found online for 1/10 of the price. He also dumped the boxes in our basement, and we never heard back from him. If we are paying for his hours, I would expect service, including someone coming and unpacking and he doing the adjustments, etc. After a few months, I decided to unpack, that's when we found out about the poster and also that some items were missing. We then emailed him, and he looked very responsive saying he would do the adjustments but never did. Months and months just pretending. Enormous emails basically saying he was feeding poor children and awkward unrelated comments. He even insinuated we were having money problems since we wanted our money back. I order things from people I don't know all the time and when there is a problem, those people are usually helpful. I was not expecting this from a person that I have known for over 10 years. Now, I believe his friendship is only for his benefit and it is not real. Be aware of all the fairy tales of how he says he is, of how he has good heart, how he treats his clients and how they treat him. For me it was not only a money pit but also a personal disappointment. It sucks but that is how life is. btw, I still don't have my money back after 7 months of emails.

Inside is a plethora of goods with something for everyone. The store is clean with no musty 'antique' odor. Items are provided by various vendors and are artfully displayed with very reasonable prices. There are collectibles, costume jewelry, vintage books/ephemera, toys, vintage records, household items, bicycles, vintage clothing /accessories, and much, much more. I was told that vendors change the merchandise in their areas often, meaning that there should be new items to see on future visits. The shop is contained in 2 small houses next to each other, on the corner of Evergreen Rd and Old Shelbyville Rd. The staff in both shops were very welcoming and friendly, leaving us to browse without stress. Plenty of dedicated parking is around the buildings. Allow plenty of time for your visit so that you can see all the goodies! You are likely to find something that you didn't know you needed!
