He had charged me for the shirt anyway and when I pointed out a shirt was missing, he claimed his wife originally miscounted (so why did he charge me for it?). This was a complete lie as I knew which shirt disappeared and it ended up reappearing a week later. The owner also tried to return a shirt to me that was not mine and when questioned, he became belligerent yet again. This was the final straw. Mistakes are acceptable but to berate customers and never acknowledge one's mistakes is totally unacceptable.

Second, they do not honor their "ready by date" which they put on the receipts. Third, they avoid accountability at all cost and blame shift onto their customers. The wife all of a sudden acted as if she was getting sick and about to throw up and grasping her chest. She had her husband on the phone who threatened to call the police and stated he didn't want my business anymore. I attempted to call an ambulance for her and she attempted to grab my phone to stop me from calling emergency services for her. Hmm, Strange. Fourth, they claim that the customer has already picked up clothing, even though the customer has taken pictures of the clothing they've dropped off and has receipts of the clothing they have indeed picked up. essentially, their either lying, have damaged your clothing, lost the clothing or their just plain stealing clothing and avoiding truth then attempt to gaslight the customer. Overall, I would never ever bring my clothing there again. pretty sure I won't see my dress shirts again. sad state of affairs. I'm wondering if the video cameras they have conveniently don't work to prove they are lying. if I could give zero stars I would. Use them at your own risk.

I reached out to Haute Hamper on their website and got a call back from Scott after under an hour. He introduced himself, explained his process of dress cleaning and preservation, and gave me some preliminary pricing. We set up an appointment for pickup shortly thereafter; very painless process. About a day after the dress was picked up, he went through the pricing with me. I admit I was a bit nervous at first because of the stains that the dress had formed just from improper storage, but after he started the cleaning work, Scott was quickly able to clean the stains and got to work on the finer details. A few weeks later, we received the dress in a beautiful display box, perfectly clean and preserved. The whole process was incredibly positive and pain-free, and the price was very fair for the work he did. I also sent in 3 pairs of my favorite Cole Haan shoes to be resoled and cleaned, and his cobbler did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Haute Hamper to anyone who needs wedding gown preservation or shoe restoration services.
