I reached out to Haute Hamper on their website and got a call back from Scott after under an hour. He introduced himself, explained his process of dress cleaning and preservation, and gave me some preliminary pricing. We set up an appointment for pickup shortly thereafter; very painless process. About a day after the dress was picked up, he went through the pricing with me. I admit I was a bit nervous at first because of the stains that the dress had formed just from improper storage, but after he started the cleaning work, Scott was quickly able to clean the stains and got to work on the finer details. A few weeks later, we received the dress in a beautiful display box, perfectly clean and preserved. The whole process was incredibly positive and pain-free, and the price was very fair for the work he did. I also sent in 3 pairs of my favorite Cole Haan shoes to be resoled and cleaned, and his cobbler did an outstanding job. One quick call for a quote and 20mins later Scott was at my doorstep to pick up two down-winter jackets for my sister and I. Not long after Scott zipped off that I noticed we forgot our car key in one of the pockets :-(...I gave Scott a call and he assured me it would be secured. I found Scott when looking for a local wedding press preserver. I've been putting it off since I got married in October 2018 because it was just too expensive. Most places wanted $500-700 because of the designer, beadwork, and length. I first went to Scott for tailoring just to check him out, but immediately booked a pickup for my dress. The process was seamless, he came to my home (Bronx), took my measurements for the pants, gathered all my wedding gown accessories (veil and garter), and went about his way. I don't often use dry cleaning services, and this particular situation wasn't your average alteration. I had a very expensive, delicate, soft leather jacket I bought while in Italy on my honeymoon. I just to happened to be wearing that jacket last year on election day, and someone slapped an "I voted" sticker on me. I didn't think much of it, hung the jacket up, and didn't take it out of the closet to wear it again for months. By then, I realized what had happened. That sticker was NOT coming off easily, I tried to delicately peel just the edge, and I could see if was pulling off the leather/color with it. I stopped immediately and went online, and found Haute Hamper. It had great reviews, and I didn't know where else to go, so I gave it a shot. I was immediately impressed when Scott said someone would pick up my jacket at my house! After that Scott had plenty of contact with me, about what he was going to do, supplies he was needed to order, etc. with photos of the process the whole way. I had confidence he could fix it. When he was finished, he sent me a photo, I could not believe how good it looked! They then delivered the jacket back to my house and it looked as good as new. I recently tried Haute Hamper at the strong recommendation of a friend and I am very happy that I did. I was very impressed with both Scott's customer service and the quality of his team's work. I love that Haute Hamper has a super flexible pick-up and drop-off service. My work schedule is very hectic and this service is a lifesaver. Scott was great about keeping me updated regarding pick-up and drop-off timing, and contacted me after he received my items to let me know what he recommends be done. He answered all of my questions and did so in a very responsive manner. Now for the services themselves. I sent Scott a pair of Manolo heeled leather boots that I've worn to death over the past few years (the repair was ultimately prompted by the bottom piece of a heel breaking off), as well as a light-colored Sandro suede skirt that I honestly thought was beyond repair. He waxed the boots, fixed the heel, somehow managed to fix the worn out toes, and made them look as good as new. Until now, I would've taken these boots to Leather Spa and would've easily had to pay $300 for repairs; Haute Hamper charged me a fraction of that price. With respect to the skirt, he not only fixed them hem (which had begun to unravel at the bottom), but he also made the suede look completely refreshed. The repairs were completed in less than two weeks, which further blew my mind. I highly recommend Haute Hamper and look forward to using them again in the near future. I contacted him Sunday morning and had our clothes back (and beautifully folded) by 5pm that day. For the last 8 weeks we have been using this service for hand laundry and business shirts as our dryer died. We have been very pleased with the pickup and delivery service and the way they fold the clean clothes when they are returned. Also, once they realized that a spot remained on a quilt after washing so they re did it aft no cost.
