I purchased a condo in Central Denver after the complex had hired Green Gables Roofing for two major capital improvement projects: painting and re-stuccoing the entire property, and earlier, replacing the roof on a section of the complex. By the time I joined the HOA in June, the roof project was complete, and the painting/stucco work was "in progress" -- meaning some windows had been papered over before the crew disappeared for several weeks. With no clarity from our then management company, I contacted Travis, Green Gables' owner, explained the lack of progress by disclosing that his subcontractor had walked off the job with $20K in materials. Despite more delays, missed spots, and inconsistent communication, the project--originally projected for a few weeks--was finished toward the end of October -- at least five months after it commenced. Soon after, a leak emerged in area of the property where Green Gables Roofing had replaced the roof--just a couple of years prior, while under our former management. Despite the warranty, our new management company's repeated attempts to contact Travis went unanswered. We eventually hired another vendor for the repairs, but more leaks followed--with still no response from Green Gables. Given these issues, our Board and new management company commissioned an independent inspection of the roof. The report confirmed poor workmanship, missing components, and improper installation--all creating ongoing liability. Despite sharing this unbiased report, Travis refused to engage with the Board, take responsibility, or negotiate a resolution -- including through mediation or insurance. Left without recourse, we feel obligated to share our experience to warn other communities--especially those managing tight budgets and complex maintenance needs--before hiring Green Gables Roofing for any project of any size or scope. read more

If I could give this company a ZERO or below ONE STAR I would. They can't follow instructions. They sent an employee to my house and the employee used sealant over nails and checked other areas of my roof, other than what I asked them to do. The service the worker did doesn't match the service I requested. The worker put sealant over nails and found other loose shingles; however, the area of concern where I needed one or two replacement shingles was not addressed. Don't call Dave. I'm super disappointed and would not use them again. I would not recommend this company. My insurance carrier recommended this company which they should NOT HAVE DONE! Buyer Beware ! read more

Nightmare of a company to work with! A burst pipe in my basement caused a part of bedroom to flood. My insurance company referred me to this company for repairs. Worst mistake ever! My Son just moved to Colorado and was staying in flooded bedroom, so time was in the essence to get all the repair work done. He was having to sleep on a mattress on the floor in a very tight space in basement. They first sent out someone to mediate damage, pull up wet carpet, take down wet drywall, dry room etc...After a week, the room was dry enough to put the bedroom back together. I then get a call from their Coordinator to come look at the damage, and see what needed to be done. Why the heck didnt she come look the week the room was drying?! She was out of town, and that took two weeks for her to come out. Then the nightmare starts! They would send one guy at a time, to do even the most menial job! One guy to re-insulate. A few days later, one guy to tape and mud walls. A few days later, a guy to paint walls. Another day someone to put molding back. Then they had to find someone to put back closet doors mediation guy took down. They sent a guy who had never installed closet doors before, and he was here hours trying to figure how to get them back up! He put the floor plate in the wrong spot, which I had to point out. He put a hole in the new carpet to move it. It took them over three weeks to put the room back together, something that should have been completed in five days! And, that's three weeks I had to be home for them! THREE WEEKS OF MY VALUABLE TIME WAITING ON THESE PEOPLE TO GET IT TOGETHER AND FINISH UP! And, the drywall guy accidentally cut electrical wires on one of the light sockets(that the painter didn't put back on any of the four mediation men removed), and it screwed up all the electrical in my basement. Owner Travis came out and said he fixed wiring on outlet. My Son finally got around to pulling the dresser out today to put wall plate on in back of dresser, and he said you touch the outlet and all the basement electrical shuts down! These people ruined my electrical, and I am going to have to hire an electrician to fix it! I am sending GREEN GABLE RESTORATION the bill! THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESS, UNETHICAL COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH! THEY COULD GIVE A RATS BEHIND ABOUT HOMEOWNERS, ONLY THE PROFIT THEY CAN PUT IN THEIR POCKETS! Very disappointed with Green Gable. Giving them two stars since initially they were fast and responsive when I had to file an insurance claim due to some water damage. They got all the equipment in to dry out the basement and other areas that were damaged (including ripping out ceiling, etc). After that, however, it was a nightmare. They kept rescheduling the jobs to finish the work (I think in total the job took like three months for them to fully complete and it wasn't that big of a job... maybe 2-3k in total costs and I had a hole in two ceilings of my house for a good two months waiting for them), the first painter they sent painted the ceiling two different colors, their painting work at the edges of the ceiling are inadequate and clearly show they didn't put two coats of paint along the edges. read more

One of the best. It is hard to find companies that really care about the quality of their work, but Green Gables is that. They installed a full roof for me, and have helped me with various gutter replacement and siding repair projects. Every time they are very attentive to doing good work, communicate and diagnose issues expertly, and are very friendly and helpful. A lot of roofing companies are fly-by-night, but these guys are in it for the long haul. They do good work and care about their customers and employees. Highly recommended. read more

My wife and I had sort of an emergency issue that needed cleaning immediately. Our work contractor got in touch with Green Gable, and they were out at our house within 45 minutes to check out the issue. They did their inspection and came back the next morning to begin the clean up work that needed to be done in our basement before we could install new plumbing. A worker came back the next two days just to check on the progress, and was back on the third day to finish the job. We are so thankful for their quick and efficient work! read more

our homeowners insurance selected Green Gable to do repairs to our basement after we had a sewage back up! This turned into the worst nightmare! They would schedule for different workers to come out and give us a sched time between 8:30-9:30. If the worker showed up it would be around noon and they would work until 2:00-2:30. It was always an excuse that they had another job they HAD to send our scheduled workerto an "important" job. After a month or more of that we finally let the project manager at the time know that our project was also important. We were promised numerous times that there would be someone everyday until it was done. That never happened. By the end of the job, we had several of our own step stools that walked from our home, yes I notified them and was told ( they asked employees and they knew nothing about it), I had a paint mess in my basement laundry room that I had to clean up, my laundry room wash sink was full of paint that I never could get it all of. They over bought paint materials and left the large several gallon buckets of paint some never opened. No, I would not recommend Green Gable for any project! read more

We had a leak on a sub-roof from all the recent rains we have had in the Denver Metro area. We contacted Green Gable Restoration for a repair. They quoted us that the repair would cost $250 and we agreed to the price. A roofing technician came out and caulked some of the areas of the sub-roof and told us that he felt that the caulking had repaired the leak. Two days later the roof leaked again due to the rain and we notified Green Gable of the problem. We asked what it would cost to have the roof stripped down and re-shingled. They told us they would give us a price in a few days. We never heard back from them. We paid the $250 as agreed because we didn't want to cause trouble, but Green Gable never offered a lesser price because the repair didn't work or contacted us to replace the roof. We would not recommend Green Gable for any roofing or restoration work, because they are unreliable and apparently show an indifference to the work they perform. Looks like another greedy company that is more interested in money than its reputation. read more

A unit above us caused a disastrous back up that ended up flooding our kitchen and hallway with wastewater and sewage. Green Gable was on site immediately to mitigate, which took several days to complete, including tearing out the kitchen, the stone floors, and drywall. Chico saw it through and even followed up with further action to clean the air from odor. I recommend him and his team for mitigation like this. read more

My experience with Green Gables Roofing has not been good. Their customer service is terrible. It took over a month for them to get an estimate to me after I was told it would take just a few days. Additionally, they did not respond to my emails or calls during that time. Now after receiving their estimate, I see nothing has changed. I've contacted them twice for additional information, but they haven't responded. Green Gables Roofing, specifically Travis, has done nothing but waste my time. I would not recommend this business to anybody. read more

Started good Travis the sales person and co-owner agreed to do many things that appealed to me. In the end there was no follow through or communication with the crew that showed up to do the work. I noticed many things not being done correctly and other that seemed really wrong. After the work was completed they agreed to fix some minor things but none of the major things I noticed. I decided to go to the building inspector and get their take. I showed them some pictures and they checked the permit. Turns out they had not pulled the permits or submitted info they needed to the kind of work they did. They were put on plan hold by the building officials and required to submit new permits and a package of information to the building officials. The work was done over a year ago and they are just now trying to get the package of info needed. Travis does nothing but argue that it is really not his fault. We are likely headed to court. This has been an unbelievable, stressful experience that is still not over. By far the worst contractor experience of our lives. All I can say is stay away from this company. read more

I've dealt with 7 or 8 roofing companies over the years and I must say Travis's team and Green Gable is the best. They're pricing was solid, set appropriate expectations, and communication was spot on. Thank you for simply doing what you said would do. Great job dealing with the insurance company too. I was referred to Travis Williams of Green Gables Roofing as a reputable and very ethical roofing contractor. My situation was extreme as my new home inspection turned up an insurance claim requiring a new roof less than three weeks prior to our closing. I called Travis, we arranged to meet, discussed the style, product and color options for my soon to be new home, and Travis and his employees took care of the rest. We received the required permits for our insurance underwriting of our new mortgage and closed on our scheduled date without any bumps in the process. Travis had his quality person, Barry, follow up onsite after our closing and during our move-in to address a couple minor cosmetic touch-ups. Rick at GreenGable Roofing was the worst. A permit was never pulled the day the roof tiles / crew showed up to work. City of Boulder put a stop work sign on the property, while a crew of roofers stood around waiting for the permit to be filed with the City of Boulder. Rick never responded to which tiles were used (no warranty information was ever received for the work completed either.) I would NEVER work with Green Gable roofing again. Every step of this project was miserable. Horrible company and threatening tactics. We would never hire them again. read more
