This place was busy but it had a great vibe. Our waitress was very sweet and she did not hesitate to make us feel welcomed. The salsa, guacamole, and queso blanca were all freshly made. I honestly got full from the chips and dips before my meal came. I order the taco combo with shrimp as my meat and I asked for grilled shrimp. I was quite sadden that my shrimp was cold in my taco, and also my cheese was not melted either. The taste of the tacos were good overall, plus I added some variety by getting an American style and Traditional style taco. First off, I've never ever been to the original restaurant on County Line so I can't attest to what everyone loves about that one. My first review was a bit harsh and did not take into account that the restaurant had just opened a new location. Just left Green Ghost with no food...I called in an order at 5:00pm. I arrived at 5:20 and was told it would take a few minutes to complete. There were three employees in the building (one cook and two cashiers). I watched as the lone cook prepared everything possible without preparing my to go order. I watched the cook take a call on the phone (while wearing gloves) and around 5:35pm I wondered where my food was. I watched as the cook removed her gloves and proceeded to scoop cooked chicken into the taquitos I ordered with no gloves (completely disgusting). When I asked the cashier if this was my order she was finally getting too he replied yes. I said forget it...40 minute wait for tacos??? I wonder...why open another location in fondren when you can't get one right. The servers are fine but the cooks...might need MGMT to actually "RUN" the restaurant instead of doing whatever they want. read more

Was excited to check out Green Ghost Tacos after a friend had recommended it for good authentic Mexican food. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, tucked into a tiny strip mall, but overall it was clean and the decor was welcoming. The service is just okay. We walked in, sat ourselves, and reviewed the menu. Yes, like other reviews say you have to pay for everything. You will not get free chips and salsa or sides included in your main dish. There is no soda fountain, everything is bottled. We started out with the chips and guacamole, which was on point. The guacamole was fresh and delicious, it was probably my favorite part of the meal. The chips were pretty good too, although a bit greasy. I ordered a huevos and chorizo burrito. First off, the burrito is massive and filled with food which is great! I ordered it hoping the chorizo would really be the prominent smoky spicy taste in the burrito, but it all kind of mushed together. My husband got three tacos: the chicken, pork, and steak. The pork was by far the most tasty, it had a smoky sweet taste which we believe came from a pineapple sauce/seasoning. The owner is super friendly and the food is great! I am looking forward to many return trips to try all of their authentic food. I have a Chili Relleno and two tacos (Carne asada and the Camaroon). The shrimp taco was layered with fresh mango and pineapple. It was like a party in my mouth. The Hibiscus tea, made from scratch, was refreshing and not too sweet. Service ZERO Food Four Service SUCKED! The waiter had a hard time answering question. We have to ask for drink refill numerous times before holding up the cup and shaking it. We had to ask for check several times and finally went to the register. The taco are small plate items, Steak and tongue were very bland. The chicken burrito was good. Excellent and truly authentic food. We had a pork torta - home made toasted bun, lush filling of tender pork chunks, cheese, refried beans and avocado. Superb! Chicken soup was big pieces of chicken off a real chicken and a variety of chunky veggies in a delicious broth. Great homade corn tortillas with a touch of spinach. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in Jackson. 1/6/17 as promised we went back to the Green Ghost, this time on our way to the Gulf. Called our order in from the highway. Perfect fresh guacamole, homemade chicken soup and new to us - elote, corn on the cob with cream, cheese and chili pepper. Friendly service and a wonderful meal at the end of a long drive. read more

I really enjoy the new location here off County Line. Although I LOVE the spot in Fondren as well. To be fair, I am a bit partial to a great Taco spot anyway so it would be a bit hard for me not to appreciate my favorite dish. I indulge weekly in search of a Mexican delight and Green Ghost Tacos never disappoints. Its not to over the top but still manage to be pretty awesome. The shrimp and chicken are my go to but you should swing by just to see the various options they offer! Their empanadas are also something you should give a try. My daughter and I had lunch there today. If you wish wine bring your own bottle and corkscrew. No extra charge. Bring glasses if you like as they only have plastic glasses. The food was excellent, generous amount, and refills in salsa and chips. Allowed me to take home extra chips and salsa and no charge. Waiter was excellent. I have never tipped more than 20% but tipped 30% to him. We will be back. We eat lunch together at least once per week and we are quite picky. Refreshing experience. read more

This place has real authentic taste and eye appeal on their plates. You must try all the street tacos, AND also try all the different salsas they have to offer! My ONLY complaint, is about their chicken chimichangas, they are lacking bigtime. The chimichangas need more meat for starters. Try the Tortas, yum!!! Try the chicken tamales yum!! Oh, and the owner will make at your request Guatamalan chicken tamales (with small bones in them, do b careful,but wow the homeade taste!!) Also great chicken mole and incredible homeade spicy guac! Very small place in a strip shopping center. I had seen the reviews and decided to give them s try. At lunch time the place was crowded-- always a good sign. Menu was a problem -- not sure what everything was. Did see beef tounge taco on menu but not that adventurous. Felt like it was authentic Mexican food. Taco definitely was different from anything you'll see at Taco Bell or at one of the large Mexican restaurants in area. Get the corn on the cob. Very good. Flavorful. Never had it like this. I got steak taco. It was rather small but had a great taste. Order 2 next time. Soft drinks are out of bottles so there are no free refills. Nice place. Friendly waiter. Good food. Everytime I got the elotes it's hard and undercooked!! Everytime I have gotten tacos no matter what kind they're bland and useless BESIDES THE SHRIMP TACO it's good. Service is slow getting tended to, there is usually a little boy in the kitchen for what IDK should be against code....
