Went for the first time today, and so happy to say that authentic Mexican has finally come to Jackson. My wife and I split an order of the Chile relleno tamales, I had the cow cheek, lengua, and pastor tacos while my wife had the vegetarian burrito. The tortillas were warm flavorful and tender like only a fresh handmade corn tortilla can be. The meat was expertly seasoned and the tacos were topped with only the essentials (cilantro and onions) which is all you need to properly accentuate the meat. The tamales were very flavorful, although a little too American for me as they were topped with white queso. Our very friendly waiter was helpful and knowledgeable with his suggestions, and if he makes a beer suggestion take his advice, you won't be disappointed. My wife says she wants to make this our regular Saturday lunch destination, so we will be back soon read more

I've been here twice now, unfortunately. The first time I was drawn in by the reviews and had 3 tacos. 1 steak one chicken one shrimp they were all tried out overcooked and the serving of meat to the size of those tortilla was not sufficient. I also had the corn in the bowl and it was very hard and undercooked. The only reason why I went back was because two tacos were removed from my bill. My second visit last week I went with a 2yo and someone else. The server was very unfriendly unprofessional- it was unacceptable. He even gave the 2yo a menu to read!, took almost 30 minutes to come take our order, then the food that was delivered was terrible.! The empanada was very undercooked, not satisfying and not worth it. Tried the corn again it was well done but cold. Will NOT be returning to either location!! read more

We ordered thru the waiter app. The pork burrito was large but mostly rice. They said the beans were in the burrito, they weren't. The shrimp trio meal was to come with rice and beans, it didn't. I called the restaurant to complain and they basically called me a liar as the driver checked the order. I'm saying she didn't. The chips and salsa was pretty good, the rest was less than so so.Very disappointed. Won't order from them again. read more

Overpriced Americanized Mexican food. It was just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The salsas are good though.

On our way to FL we stopped by this non descript taco shop in Ridgeland MS, mainly because of the outstanding reviews on Yelp. And Yelp reviewers you did NOT disappoint! The soft shell tacos - costing less than 3 bucks a apiece - are some of the tastiest we have ever eaten as a family (take it from "Taco Central" Houston residents!). My son had the Chorizo tacos, my daughter has the marinated pork and beef tongue, and my wife and I split veggie tacos and the fish fillet tacos. The taste was exquisite and the accompanying hot sauces left a lilt on our tongues. My wife and I downed the tacos with some cold beer, and then all of us re-ordered more tacos because one order just didn't seem to do justice. What a great roadside find on our way to the beach!! read more

I've been dying for an authentic Mexican restaurant like this in Jackson! Well-seasoned meat, fresh toppings on their tacos, great flavor combinations. The guacamole is tasty, decently priced, and they give you a sizable portion. Freshly made horchata and jamaica, good Mexican beer selection, and house-made salsas. Great new family run business. The servers were attentive and quite friendly. They serve authentic Mexican tacos, really really big sandwiches... A great place to go for lunch. Prices are great, pretty cheap for a taco and cheap for the sandwich, considering how big it is. Make sure to try the shrimp taco. They cook it to perfection, lots of different flavors...it's legit. They've got homemade sauces with a variety of spice, however their hot sauce ainttt too hot. Also, make sure to grab some of their guacamole. It's handmade, fresh to order and has plenty of lime. Amazing authentic tacos in Jackson! We are in from out of town and just returned from Texas. The fish tacos I had in Texas were not and good as these. Was in town from Atlanta and was lucky to find this place. Laid-back, casual atmosphere with a friendly and attentive owner and staff. I had the vegetarian and the shrimp tacos with black beans and rice and was very pleased. Had a variety of hot sauces to try and they didn't disappoint. Will definitely be coming back. read more

The food was great. I had the tongue taco and it was excellent. The guacamole was fresh. The only problem I had was with the service. I had to wait a long time to put in my order and while I was waiting I saw several people come and go because they got frustrated. Getting a refill was also an issue. Came in today at 1:30 for takeout. Waited for 45 minutes for two tacos, a burrito and chips and dip. We're from southwest Kansas where the authentic Mexican food is hard to beat and this restaurant was a major disappointment. They got every order wrong, adding onions to everything after we requested not to. The queso and guacamole is delicious but ultimately all over priced. Closest I find to CA drive through Mexican food. Circa. Alberto's, Filiberto's or other So. Cal staples. The great thing about this place is the homemade corn tortillas. The in house salsas are a great touch but unless your pouring them on al pastor or tripas you might want to stick with the green salsa. The staff is awesome and Will makes every experience feel like I am going over to a friends house. Beer no bar but with tacos that's all you really need. I haven't tried the new fondren location just because I don't want to go and find that the food isn't as good as over here and I know that Will doesn't work there so for now I will make the trek across town for my taco fix... read more

I eat here every time I am in Ridgeland. The guacamole and empanadas are made to perfection. The service and food are excellent.

Don't let the appearance as a strip mall restaurant stop you from visiting. The food was great and service was excellent even though they were busy. I had the torta with pork shoulder. Great choice but you better be hungry. Don't miss the fresh guacamole. read more

I rate this restaurant three stars. It is a small set up and fairly clean. It was not busy when my friends and I went there. We started off with salsa and question which was accompanied with thick deep fried chips. The salsa was very average. The queso was okay. I ended up adding hot sauce to it to get a nice spicy kick to it. Ive been looking for a good taco spot so I stuck to my taco options. One thing I liked about this place is that they do offer hard shell tacos. I got one vegetarian, one shrimp and one fish filet taco. My friend got a chicken taco. I would say the presentation of the food was good and service was good. Now let's get to the taste of the food. The best taco was the shrimp taco. The chicken meat and the fish meat were not well seasoned. All the toppings are the same for each taco. The shrimp had pineapple in it, which gave it a bit of a nice taste. I love spicy food and they had a super spicy habanero sauce. If you are sensitive to spice, I would not suggest it. They have different levels of hot sauce heat. Would I come here again? By far the most authentic, and best Mexican food outside of South Texas, especially North of I-20! The food was just fantastic, and everyone in our party of four said the exact same thing. Stopped in while passing through town and this place was fantastic. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. The food was not good and expensive and everything is a la carte. I had fish tacos but basically got fish bits in a tortilla. What happened to the filet of fish? My son had the nachos with beef - a bad mix of beef too much salt and a lot of chili powder. My other son had chicken tacos. I'm not sure what the red marinade is. My wife had a burrito that she couldn't eat. Sides of rice and beans were bland but at least edible. Pass on this one. read more

With all of the good reviews on this restaurant, we decided to give it a try for ourselves and were not disappointed. This is a small restaurant with five tables and many bar stools you can sit at. We went for lunch and although we were tempted by the guacamole, we decided to wait until another time. I opted for the Pierma Adobada Torta, ( see photos ) which was huge. I could barely finish it. The bread was extremely good. I really enjoyed trying the 5 different homemade sauces as well. I liked the habanero the best, which really added to the flavor of the pork. She went with one of the lunch specials, which included 2 tacos, rice, and beans. The rice was very fresh and favorable. The beans were good but nothing special. She got two steak tacos although you can mixed them up. They were very good. Lots of flavor. They do have cold beer: Coors and Coors Light, Heineken, Corona, Dos XX Lager, and other Mexican Beers. The server was extremely friendly and helpful. We have eaten at a similar restaurant in this area and this one is equally good. The menu is easy to follow. The restaurant is very clean with two large TVs. Lots of take outs going on while we were here, and I understand why. The prices are comparable to similar restaurants of this style. The worst food I have ever eaten in my life, and my coworker that went with me agrees. First and last time I'll ever eat there. The meat had zero flavor, and the only thing we could taste was an over abundance of salt, cilantro, and onions. It's also the only pace I've ever eaten that charges for the chips and salsa. The waitstaff was rude and inattentive, and it took forever for us to get 2 tacos each. I had begun to wonder if they had to go kill the cow before making the tacos.
