Great place for dental work on adults. Dr. Fraker, Dr. Ludena, and the hygienist are very knowledgeable, professional, and they show a lot of care for the quality of their work. I became a patient in 2024 and I haven't experienced the issues that other reviewers have brought up (unable to reach the front desk, schedule appointments, email spam, etc). The front desk is often busy but I can usually get through on the second try. read more

I've been a happy patient of this clinic for several decades. I lost my second night guard (which now costs more than $450) recently. Since I my recent night guard was made a few weeks ago, I asked if they could use the old mold. The dental lab wouldn't do that, but the clinic offered to make me a new one for half price. The dentist and hygienist were both great! The office staff and billing was not so great however. I made a point to call and ask if they accepted my insurance because I didn't want to pay high out of pocket cost. I was told they did but it turns out they in fact do not, leaving me with a large bill. It took me about two weeks to finally get ahold of someone in the office to explain the issue which was not helpful. read more

I've been a patient here for nearly 3 years, and my toddler has been here as well. I was satisfied with my experiences and had planned to return soon as both my toddler and I are about 12 months overdue for our preventive cleanings, but then I received a marketing email from them that really turned me off and made me question their empathy for patients. It chided me for not responding to their "continued attempts" to contact me and said: "you're doing yourself a great disservice by neglecting your oral health." I get this is a standard marketing email sequence they have scheduled to send to patients who are overdue for appointments and wasn't personal. But man, the tone of it was clearly designed to shame patients. What they don't know is that I just gave birth two months ago to my second child after a difficult pregnancy during which I was terribly sick the entire time. It set us back about a year in terms of being diligent about getting our 6-month cleanings. So sure, we were overdue for cleanings, but there was a good reason. Even if there wasn't a health reason for my absence (for plenty of people it might be a loss of dental insurance coverage or heck, maybe life just got busy and they fell behind), it's not Green Lake Dental Care's place to shame patients. Will not return here. I hope the staff writing those emails hears this feedback and changes their approach...I'm sure I'm not the only one that email turned off. read more

I moved to Seattle a few years and tried out Green Lake Dental Care somewhat randomly - and I'm so glad I did! I have stuck with them for 4 years. Dr. Fraker is great, and the staff and hygienists are all so friendly and good at their jobs. I always feel like my teeth are being taken care of to the highest standards. I've been coming to this dental office for three years. I guess that means I've been here 6 times. In that time, the male Dr. Fraker has retired, another female dentist has joined the team, and they've moved into a completely renovated space with lots of frills. It seems the increase in aesthetic fancy has been at the sacrifice of good customer service and I'm super bummed about that. It's incredibly difficult to get in touch with anyone here--over the last six months, I've left at least 2 voicemails during business hours, 3 voicemails outside of business hours and sent 2 emails via the website "contact us" form just to cancel and reschedule an appointment. After 6 months of attempts, I received my reminder postcard in the mail for the original appointment that I had canceled six months prior. I made yet another attempt to contact them for a reschedule, but again got voicemail. I finally spoke with someone today and was told that the soonest I would be able to reschedule my appointment for was July. My thought was, "Wow, they really are too busy for me!" I know I could get into another dental office well before that, but I've been so pleased with my prior experiences here that I really hate to admit that maybe this place has really changed for the worse with all of the other changes that have occurred. Such a bummer.... Edited (1/5/13) to Add: The same day that I posted the preceding review, Dr. Sarah contacted me to ask how she could fix my situation and to let me know that she was going to work with the front office to make sure this wasn't something that would happen again. Shout-out to Dr. Ross, Dr. Sarah, Linda the receptionist, and Jill the dental hygienist! Many people are afraid of the dentist. For some reason, I've never been afraid of dentists - I like to think of it as going in for a tooth massage. When you look at it like that, it's possible to actual enjoy a dental cleaning. I chose Green Lake Dental based on the Yelp reviews, and have been extremely pleased. The care, customer service, atmosphere, everything - just great. My husband also loves them. I had to have two cavities filled and a minor gum flap cut away, and this took place over 2 appointments. As it worked out, this was one with Dr. Sarah and one with Dr. Ross. Note, both are called Dr. Fraker - it's a father and daughter practice - so yes, first names make it easier. Also note, both doctors are brilliant with oral health. If you're scared, the staff will make you comfortable with massaging chairs, soft music, and reassuring attitudes. If you're weird like me, they will enthusiastically show you all of the tools they use and discuss dental science with you. I love being able to look at my x-rays and ask questions about them. Even more than that, I love getting an answer instead of a patronizing brush-off. The Frakers and the staff have a clear interest in what they do, and it carries through to their fantastic work. I've recommended them to several other people, and will continue to do so. read more

Who doesn't hate the dentist? SRSLY. I got a recommendation to visit Dr. (Ross) Fraker from people at work - I'm so glad I took their advice. The staff at the front desk (especially Linda) are terrific, and always take the time to listen to me when I call. Dr. Fraker is *amazing*. You can tell he's experienced, and somehow just seemed to know that talking to me during my filling would help calm me down. They were running a bit late due to an emergency - and apologized profusely. Super polite and all-around great people. Tina cleaned my teeth, and boy, did she do a good job. I don't think my face has ever felt that clean before. I appreciate that they still do things 'the old fashioned way' in some areas - Tina wasn't afraid to get in-between my teeth with a good old-fashioned pick. The office is a bit older - but I feel somewhat better that my monies aren't just going towards rent and exotic fish. After my initial visit, Linda pulled up m insurance information and mailed me a complete treatment plan, with total costs for each of my options (regular fillings vs. composites). I just can't get over how great of an experience I continue to have with these guys. read more

Its a little over a year later, and I still am a regular at Green Lake Dental. I have had two cleanings, and have my husband. Here is the skinny: My fall late summer cleaning was bad. The doctor was fantastic, the office is great...but the hygenist Tina. ohhh boy. She straight up insulted me; called me a child! (umm...I'm 24. Please do not treat me like a child!). Also left my teeth feeling sore. I figured it was an off day for Tina, until my husband had even a worse experience: she made him practice brushing his teeth in front of her on a model, and left his teeth sore...and bleeding for 2-3 days! Whaaa? Safe to say, we were hesitant about returning, but we both loved Dr. Sarah and Dr. Meghan, so we wanted to give it one more shot. This time we specifically asked for someone other than the rough and rude Tina. We had Jill- and loved her! Not only does she clean teeth the way she should (with enough force to clean the suckers, but not so much to make you bleed and unable to eat solid food for 3 days) but she is also very friendly. So in conclusion: if you like pain and being treated terribly, go to Tina. If you like leaving with a smile on your face, see Jill. The doctors are all fantastic, as is the facility itself. Subsequently went to another dentist in Seattle who mentioned there was too much filling material for the cavity which was upsetting ligaments to the tooth. This was after a second visit to remove excess material after the initial filling. I appreciate Green Lake Dental Care reaching out to right the situation, but teeth are not like soft tissue, and drilling is not reversible. I'm happy with the new dentist. read more

I admit, I loved my dentist on the east coast. He was the absolute bee's knees. Is is strange to have a crush on a man who puts his hands in my mouth? That being said, Dr. Sarah Fraker hasn't disappointed me. I chose her practice based on Yelp reviews, my dental insurance provider list and geographical accessibility. I don't feel cheated or pained after I visit her office. I have been a patient here since 2012. I have appreciated the evidence-based and patient-centered care. The hygienists are awesome and gentle, yet I love the thorough cleans. I also appreciate the top-notch care they have provided my girls (now 5 & 8). They truly love their visits so much they are begging for their next dentist appointment within a couple months after the last. Green Lake Dental has moved downstairs to totally upgraded, posh digs. It is truly beautiful. There's even a cute little "cave" area for kids to play in with a little TV that plays kids movies (at least I think it does - I couldn't squeeze my extralargeness in there to confirm. Dr. Ross has retired, and Dr. Meghan has joined the practice with the wonderful Dr. Sarah. All the other awesome hygienists are the same - as is the friendly and competent front desk staff. It had been about 2 yrs since my last cleaning (that's how much I hated my last dentist) but the team got me in, checked, x-ray'd and cleaned in record time and they made the process as pleasant as possible. I broke a crown in the Midwest while out on business. I expedited my trip home to Seattle and they got me into the schedule the next day to assess the situation. Not only did they assess and put a temporary on that same day, they expedited the permanent crown from the lab as I was leaving the country a week later for Europe for three weeks. Certainly this is not the norm, but their sense in urgency to bring a solution forward for me was outstanding. I was new to the city and due for my 6 month check up. Coming from Arizona I wasn't prepared to be the worst driver in the entire nation. No matter what turn I made I missed the turned and had a total of 3 mental breakdowns finding this place. When I called to see if someone could walk me through getting here the woman was A LITERAL ANGEL. She stayed on the phone with me and comforted me with the fact that she doesn't get these "Y" roads either. She stayed on the phone with me until I was walking in the door. It wasn't part of her job. I'm sure she had other things to do than to console a 24-year-old who just couldn't get it right -- but she did. This was just the beginning of some of the nicest women I've ever worked with. They make me feel comfortable and they can always get you in SO fast if you ever have a semi-emergency for your teeth. I love Dr. Ross and Dr. Sarah. Dr. Ross has been my dentist for the past 10 years.( it's been ten years that a poor black stepchild from the country once dreamed of living near Greenlake and vowed," One day I too shall live here,walk around this lake and eat ice cream at Baskin Robbins!" Well kids that little girl was me and her dream did come true. So she found a dentist. On one of my first visits, his hygienist took me to her other place of employment ( above Long Drugs in Northgate) to show me all of the spiroketes in my mouth! Yuck and strangely exciting like Baron Harkonen's skin lesions. Oh yes back to the dentist. Yes, everyone at the front desk is helpful and friendly. Dr. Ross and Dr. Sarah also took out my molars which took about 4 hrs,but it was kinda fun b/c I did get some Novocaine. Not as fun as when I had morphine and I saw the white balloon people and I thought the nurses were going to kill me,but it gets the job done and of course my life was spared! read more

My boyfriend went here and I was looking for a new dentist so I decided to try it out since he had said very nice things. I just went last week and was really impressed. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Sarah just bought the practice from her dad, Dr. Fraker but he still works there part-time. Dr. Sarah just had a baby and will be out for a few months so Dr. Fraker will be working full-time until she's back. So, I haven't met Dr. Sarah yet but her father was super nice. They are very casual and laid back which makes you feel comfortable right away. Dr. Fraker was wearing a Hawaiian t-shirt :o) My hygienist was very nice as well. I have to go back to have some old fillings replaced and the ladies at the front desk printed me out a form that told me exactly how much it was going to cost so that was nice! I've had great experiences here. It had been a while since I'd last gone to the dentist so I needed some work done, but never, in any of my appointments, from any one in the office did I ever hear a condescending comment or tone. No "you could of prevented this." "You should of flossed more" It was all positive vibes. Which is one of the best things I can think of for a dentists office, as a kid I hated hearing that stuff and I think that was a reason I started to avoid them. Also they have a great looking office, and modern looking equipment, which, at least to me, helps inspire confidence in the place. They also have a neat kids area, which I'd totally play in if I weren't a full grown man. The front office is great, Linda always went over the paper work with me, let me know when and how much my next appoints would be, how much insurance would cover. (like I said, I needed work done.) Though when I set up the appointment for my crown the office person (NOT Linda, the regular office lady, she was always awesome) forgot to tell me how much it would be. The amount was not insignificant and came as quite a surprise when I called in to check a couple days before the appointment. Though I'll give them a Mulligan on that and chalk it up to her not being so used to setting up appointments and going over the details. All the serious work I've had done here was by Doctor Crawford and its all been great, I have not had to get any work redone or touched up that includes a crown and fillings. All the fillings color match well and feel solid. I also had my teeth cleaned as well and that went just as well, quick, professional, and positive. I'm planning on going back for all future work and maintenance, I'll gladly recommend them to anyone I know. read more

I've been going to Green Lake Dental Care for several years and have had nothing but great experiences. Or, at least as great an experience as dental work can be. Email reminders, responsive staff, very capable assistants, and highly-skilled and caring dentists. For the most part, I've had Dr. Mulligan, and I think she's wonderful. Every person I interacted with at this office was the friendliest person I have ever met. I was a little nervous to go since I recently moved to the area and hadn't seen a dentist in at least 3 1/2 years. But the whole experience was absolutely wonderful! I have had some bad experiences with fillings in the past (such as not enough anesthesia and doctors who wouldn't listen). I just got a filling today at Green Lake Dental Care and all my dentist fears are gone. Dr. Meghan told me what was going on the whole time and made sure that I was comfortable. They also worked talked to my insurance before I came in to ensure that my procedures would be adequately covered before I had them done. I would recommend Green Lake Dental Care to anyone. I have been a patient at Green Lake Dental Care for the last few years, and I have had a wonderful experience. The providers, Dr. Mulligan and Dr. Fraker, are fantastic. I have had a two fillings and a crown, and each time have been nothing but satisfied. They have been very straight forward about needs and expected results, allowing me to make informed decisions about my care. The dental assistant crew have been incredibly friendly and they are all highly skilled. Everybody gets something. I got really excellent eyesight, but my English ancestors' teeth. Pretty scary. I've been a patient at Green Lake Dental Care for about 15 years. I am convinced that I have more of my actual teeth left than I would have if I had gone somewhere else. Even though my mouth has been pretty much a mess my whole life, nobody at GLDC lectures or acts condescending. They encourage me to take better care of my remaining teeth, with some success, The work they do there is top notch in every aspect. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else for dental care. I would not recommend going to Green Lake Dental Care. I hadn't been to the dentist in awhile and chose Green Lake Dental Care because it was convenient. The hygenist was awesome, however the dentist only spent about 30 seconds looking at my teeth and told me I had 4 cavities. I have only had a few cavities in my life and the way he said it made all my instincts tell me he was lying. He said they were all shallow cavities and that I could come over two appointments to get them filled. Why would I need two apt. to fill 4 small cavities? Money! I felt like I was being lied to and right away did not trust him. I waited 6 months and went to another highly recommended dentist who took xrays and spent about 10 minutes looking at my xrays and my teeth and he confirmed that I in fact had 0 cavities. I right away did not trust the dentist at Green Lake Dental and my instincts turned out to be 100% correct. Highly recommend finding another dentist. read more

I have no idea what the other reviewers are raving about. Maybe I just was there on a bad day. I had yet to find a good dentist, so based on the yelp reviews I booked an appointment for my sister, my nephew, and myself at greenlake dental care. Here was our experience... First the appointment was for a cleaning as well as exam and x-rays. Which was somehow misunderstood and we only ended up with exams and x-rays. Second, I have an obviously bad tooth in the front of my mouth which was my biggest concern, after the x-rays were done, after I asked about it during the exam, they didn't have an x-ray for it and had to take an additional one, which cost an additional amount of money. Thirdly, they miscalculated my co-pay and sent me a additional bill much later stating I had to pay immediately or go to collections. Fourthly they overcharged my sister for a service which was only caught because we scrutinized the bill. Which they corrected after we brought it to their attention. If we hadn't analyzed the breakdown of services, it would have been unknowningly paid. I was unimpressed with the service and never went back -and neither did my sister or nephew. If your looking for a good dental office, keep looking. read more

I WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!!!!! 2 months ago I came down with Bell's Palsy. The left side of my face was completely paralyzed. 3 days later i decided to keep my dental cleaning with Dr. Megan at Green Lake Dental. I was told upon my arrival that Dr. Megan had opened her own office. I decided to get my teeth cleaned by Dr. Fraker since her office is right next door to my home. I explained to the dental assistant my situation with Bell's Palsy and that my Dr. had told me to keep my stress level down as it is a catalyst for Bell's Palsy. The assistant went right into mentioning that Dr. Fraker needed new digital X-rays. I explained to her that was well and good, but it would have to wait until I was better recovered from my condition. She kept repeating it time after time until i finally had to say if she mentioned it one more time that i would walk out. YUP.... she mentioned it again. I donned my jacket and left the office. Dr. Fraker later called to apologize. Like previous customers have mention before, the staff here needs some serious training. read more

I have been going to this dental practice for several years, and in that time I have had the opportunity to be seen by both Dr Fraker and more recently by Dr Mulligan, and I have been extremely pleased with my experiences with both dentists to date. In choosing a dentist office and staying with a dentist, the entire office staff is important, especially the hygienist and receptionist, since you spend the most time with the hygienist and the receptionist sets the tone for the business and can make or break the relationship. But the dentist has to be competent too, or else the rest doesn't matter. I am happy to say that they have a great team at Greenlake Dental Care! For several years I loyally saw Jill the hygienist, and she was extremely gentle and thorough, so I was very worried when she moved away whether I would have a positive experience with the next hygienist I had there. To be honest, the next visit was mixed, as the next hygienist was less gentle and surprised me by used children's flavored cleaning paste on me rather than mint without warning me. Yuck! But having received great dental care at the office in the past, I decided to give things a shot with a different hygienist, and I am extremely glad I did. My last cleaning was exceptional, thorough, and gentle, and I have to say that I was completely impressed with Dr Mulligan, especially in the follow up visit when I was fitted for a new night guard. She projects friendly competence and patience, and she does an excellent job of explaining procedures as she is working. She is extremely analytical and efficient while still projecting warmth. While I do not have dental anxiety, it still makes me reassured to be treated by a thorough dentist who seems genuinely invested in my dental care and in getting things right. All of these combined factors make me highly recommend the practice. Plus I think it is great to support a practice with two women dentists. One last thing, I appreciate that Linda up front does a great job with giving estimates if you need them before deciding on procedures, and she is great with scheduling. read more

Been coming here way too much for my liking but it's my own fault right? Anyway I have nothing but great things to say about this office especially Dr. Fraker. Warm, professional, and non intimidating are a few reasons why I will not go to any other dental office if I have a choice. I got a complete dental exam a few months ago and needed quite a bit of work done, all of it was done by Dr. Fraker. She's great at what she does and FAST!! Which is a compliment, I've been to lots of dentist before and have never felt as comfortable as I have in Dr. Frakers care. Linda the receptionist is awesome as well and extremely professional. Oh and I can't forget about the assistants I've mainly seen Cheryl who is just awesome! The others have been good as well. Never had an issue with scheduling, or insurance. They've been on top and stay on top of everything. I think you guys get the point...I love it here. Keep up the great work ladies. Oh ps they are ALWAYS right on time.
