Wish I never went. Called yesterday after chipping my tooth (told them I just needed a polish down) and they said they could take me. I arrived to a very unwelcoming office and the dental assistant who took me back barely said a word to me. After sitting on the chair for 20 minutes or so I was told they couldn't do the work they originally said they could and I'd have to come back the next day. I made an appointment for today. Today I got a call and text asking if I could come in earlier, so I did, and subsequently wish I had listened to the bad vibes I got from them on day one. The dental hygienist who did the work was having problems even seeing the chip, never pulled out a mirror to look on the backside, and polished the shit out of my tooth and for some reason the one next to it (that had no chip!!!)? I've now got a wonky tooth where there was only a small chip previously. When I mentioned that it now had an angle to it I was told it matches the other tooth and that if I really wanted to, they would shave it down more. I will be going elsewhere for that and all other dental work. Oh, and for the pleasure of the inhospitable office and making my tooth all wonky I got to pay $142! read more

No one likes going to the dentist but as far as dentist's offices go this place is pretty great. Dr. Shahid is very kind and has great chair side manner. She has a lot of experience and is happy to sit down and talk me through all my options and why she's doing what she's doing. The hygienists are great too as is the admin/front desk staff. A friendly, bright place. The other cool thing about Smiles is it's a very modern practice. They have all kinds of imaging and other equipment that wasn't around when I was growing up. Lots of little touches to make the experience more comfortable-- the X-ray thing they put in your mouth isn't so sharp anymore! Very weird and frustrating experience. After a routine cleaning & exam, fully covered by insurance, I started getting phone calls from Dr. Shahid's office wanting immediate credit card payment for unspecified additional charges. (No paper bill was sent to me). I finally spoke to an apparently more senior person in her office. I was told what the additional charges were for -- but that turned out to be something covered by insurance, that they had allegedly forgotten to bill my insurer for -- except they hadn't actually done the additional thing! (Ie., they wanted me to pay by credit card over the phone for a service they hadn't actually done, which would have been covered by insurance if it had been.) At this point, we went over the billing they had submitted to my insurance line by line, and it turned out they had actually billed my insurance for another procedure they hadn't actually done. This was all very unsettling, used up a lot of my time, and destroyed my trust in Dr. Shahid's practice. read more

Dr. Adatto is an outstanding dentist; he obviously loves his work, constantly learns new techniques and provides the best patient experience I have ever witnessed (I'm 73; a PhD in science). He has added implant skill and now makes his own crowns in house obviating the dreaded temporary crown and doing away with the second visit. He has a keen eye and spots and tracks issues to deal with them in a timely, expedient manner. Dental hygienists are superior both in skill and friendliness. The front desk crew are very skilled with the insurance and billing aspects among the other administrative duties. This is a highly professional, skilled and down to earth friendly crew. They add kindness, compassion, and customer service to a very professional practice. My wife is now also a happy customer and was glad I referred her. I had a really amazing experience at Smile on 35th. As someone who takes dental hygiene very seriously, I cannot recommend Smiles on 35th enough! Read on for more details about my experience. I came in and did a check up about 2 weeks ago and immediately a week after they started with my treatments on my crowns and fillings. The plan was so professionally done in 3 parts and in a really speedy fashion in that the crown was put in the same day without having to wait for a couple days to put the final crown in. My dentist and hygienist are very professional and resourceful that they figured out a plan to avoid doing a potential root canal. They are extremely friendly and very well organized. On top of that, they even took me for a little trip around the office so I can learn more about how the crowns are done :). read more

I decided to take a chance on Smiles due to being down the road from them and wow I'm glad I did! Dr. Shahid ,I feel, sensed my anxiety and would always check on me. She asked if I was okay and if I needed any more numbing medicine along with letting me know what she was doing so I wasn't surprised. I felt seen and heard! I've had two dentists in 38+ years. My first was a relative who I went to from childhood through high school. After I returned from college I needed a new dentist closer to my new residence and 15 years later I'm still going to Dr. Adatto. Overall my dental health is good with only a few cavities so the majority of my visits are for regular cleanings. Every few years I go in for a new cavity fill or to repair old work from my previous dentist. The office staff, hygienists, and Dr. Adatto are all very nice and make it a point to remember important personal facts from previous visits. This little detail goes a long way in making you feel a little more at home during your visit. This week I'll be going in for my first crown, a process that is completed in house over a few hours instead of the normal two visit process. Before deciding to get a crown Dr. Adatto was happy to discuss the pros and cons and probable maintenance period of each option whether refilling the cavity or installing a crown. Before I left they looked up my insurance coverage and handed me an estimate of what the crown would cost, how much insurance covered, and what I could expect to pay out of pocket. The office is up to date with the latest tools, training, and procedures making it feel like Dr. Adatto and staff are always seeking out the latest technology and techniques as dentistry materials and processes improve with time. My wife and I both love Dr. Adatto's practice and will be taking our daughter when it's time for her first cleaning!! read more

Dr. Adatto has been my dentist ever since I first got teeth. I can never relate to people who are afraid of their dentist because he has ALWAYS made me feel so comfortable. When I was about 6 years old, I was racing my sister from the YMCA to the car and tripped, skinning my chin and chipping my canine tooth. It was after-hours but, when my mom called, he immediately met us at the office to make sure my teeth were okay. Years later, that permanently blood stained canine was the last baby tooth to fall out. This procedure requires a painful shot to the roof of the mouth - I have had them before and these are so painful for me. But Dr. Adatto has a special technique and it worked!!! That was the intro to my experience. And the rest was just as great. He is attentive, gentle, truly interested in how you are doing, and does amazing work. And his assistants are clearly top notch. The two stars are because the dental assistants, hygienists, and Dr. Shahid are kind people, but I can't say the same for the front office staff. I witnessed one receptionist being rude to an elderly gentleman and this same person was not friendly to me either. Her customer service skills need work. I had been seeing Dr. Adatto for 10 years at this location prior to his retirement every six months for cleaning and check ups. I had a "watch" on a tooth, but no other concerns to report. After my first visit with Dr. Shahid, I was told I needed a new bite plate, partial crown, and a filling. In retrospect, I should have questioned it at the time, but took their recommended treatment minus the filling. I'm unhappy with the bite plate and the partial crown still gives me issues when I floss. I'm sad to report my "ambulance chaser vibe" from Smiles on 35th are correct. After I visited my new dentist, I still have a "watch" on the same tooth that does NOT need a filling and I was told my original bite plate didn't need to be replaced. Beware. read more

We (my husband and I) have only had wonderful experiences. And the massage chairs make going to the dentist as comfortable as possible! I have always been taken in on time - which is very helpful since I often leave work in the middle of the day for the appointment. I have been going to Dr. Adatto for about 10 years. Before that I went to a few different dentists but couldn't find one with whom I felt really comfortable. I appreciate that Dr. Adatto only recommends the work that makes sense. He doesn't push me to re-do filings that are holding up fine, but does keep me updated if a particular tooth is not holding up well. I appreciate his honesty tremendously. His office has top-notch equipment and they work efficiently, which is why I don't mind driving 30 minutes to his office. There are plenty of dentists with closer offices, but it's worth the trip to feel safe and well cared for. His hygienists are great and I have never had a billing issue. read more

I was forced to go to this dentist because they were one of the few in the area to take my insurance. I have never had a more uncomfortable and painful dentist experience, nor a dentist more thoughtless on what his actions were doing to the patient. Secondly, I had verified the cost of the procedure and what my insurance would pay, but after walking out of the horrid chair with my mouth numb and swollen, I was presented a bill for nearly twice what I had been quoted and asked to pay on the spot. I was already traumatized by the procedure, couldn't speak, didn't have the money and contacted them after to talk about the bill. They refused to acknowledge the written quote, made up some nonsense about why it was so. I refused to pay them the amount, they sent me to collections and are now suing me. Do not use this dentist if you want someone who practices dentistry fairly and without pain. read more

Dr. Adatto is super competent and just plain adorable! I recommend him to everyone who will listen, including my own husband, who puts up with me calling him "Dr. Cutie" (I mean that in the most respectful way possible!) I had to have my first cavity filled by his assistant and it went off without a hitch. He is serious about prevention and is genuine about getting to know his patients. The staff is equally professional and friendly.
