Picking a new dentist can be very confusing. You just don't know what you don't know and, likely, the only criteria you have to go on is proximity to your home and decent-enough reviews online. So, let this review offer some insight into this practice, if you're considering working with it. Dr. Lemke is a consummate professional. More than doing excellent work, he is very skilled at clearly explaining what caused your problem in the first place, what needs to be done to address the problem, and why/how it needs to be done. It's so much easier / less stressful to make dental decisions when you feel like you really understand what's going on in your mouth, and aren't just putting blind faith in your dentist. I've never had a doctor take such time and care to ensure that I understood the full picture. His prices are competitive, and he is committed to not only fixing things when they break, but also helping to keep your mouth in tip-top shape to avoid problems in the first place. I've moved around and gone through many dentists in my time, not all of whom I'd recommend - but I can't recommend this practice enough. Solid choice. read more

Wallingford Family Dentistry previously was great when Clare was helping to run the practice, but now things have changed. What was supposed to be a routine crown filling has become a billing nightmare with their team unable/unwilling to bill our insurance or provide a proper ledger of what we are being charged for. After months of not billing our insurance, they finally made it happen 2 weeks ago and then sent us a bill earlier this week that had a late payment charge. How can we be late on a payment when they finally just sent us a bill after months of us wasting our time calling them to correct the problem?!? Id definitely recommend going somewhere else. I live in Edmonds but drive to Seattle because I recognize the high quality of service I receive. Dr. Lemke is thorough and precise in his work. I trust his recommendations about my dental care. Clare is cool, she can handle someone with a personality. the doctor himself though, dr lemke, talk about someone too into the energy you put out during your visit. Basically, if you get nervous with dental appts and deal with that with sarcasm and jokes about how fucked up your teeth are and that you simply wanna know what the options are and get on with shit, this is not the place for you. This type of attitude apparently made the doc "uncomfy in treating me with the energy i was putting out toward him". cuz apparently dealing with nerves the way I do was too much for this guy to handle. It is like he never dealt with someone like me before. Straight and to the point, i like to get down to brass tax and cut the chit chat if i can help it. I got shit to do, you have other patients and were already running behind. Jus cuz someone is a bit uncomfy and you cant handle how they deal is no reason to not treat someone cuz you aren't "comfortable" with it. The thing that really did me in and pissed me off was when he tried to flip the script like certain things were never brought up to be discussed when he clearly brought it up discussing possible treatments. So, if you put off good "energy" this yahoo may work out for ya but if you are a person with any level of sense of humor, it will just make Dr lemke uncomfy and he will say "its nothing personal" cuz he is too much of a bitch to admit that it is as he can't handle any level of sarcasm or jokes. 0/10! read more

Five years later and I love coming to Wallingford Family Dentistry more than ever! My husband and I briefly moved out of Seattle for a few years and I missed this team so much. I even contemplated scheduling a follow-up with them when I visited on vacation - seriously, that is how great they are. When we made the decision to move back I just knew I had to get an appointment on the books as soon as possible. There have been changes over the years, but all for the best. Oh man, my search for a dentist is over. It has been three freakin' years since I have been able to find a place where I like the doctor, my teeth like the doctor, and my wallet likes the doctor. Look, I'm not cheap, but I have had it with dental offices trying to sell everything under the sun to me and backing me in a corner to get expensive unnecessary work done. Alternatively, I have also had it with sketch dental clinics where the hygienist doubles as a janitor and repair person. I've been to one place that looked like there were no updates since 1965 and seriously...a gal came in off the roof while I was checking in, then five minutes later was charting my teeth. I have nothing against multi-tasking...but frankly, if I ever needed major work with anesthesia or drugs, I'm so not trusting that place. So, the hunt continued. Until now. Wallingford Family Dentistry was a great fit! Oh finally,. a small, clean, tasteful clinic with a super friendly staff who will go the extra distance to help out a patient. I found Dr. Falcone to be calm, competent, professional, down to earth, and skilled. The place isn't super high tech, but all the equipment was modern, and worked great to get the job done. The hygienist was warm and skilled as well. Overall it was a great experience. If you are looking for a solid, good dentist without a bunch of expensive tech-junkie fluff, this is your place. Thank you Dennis, Diane, and Carla. This is the family dentistry office I was looking for. They definitely make you feel like their favorite patient within about five minutes. Not that I know anything about dentistry, but I was pretty impressed with the initial exam. I can't remember ever having my gums checked so thoroughly. My gums have their own manila folder now. Some people used to big clinics might not like the hassle of a 1-dentist office, but I love the cozy feeling. Secret: they have fancy hand lotion and mouthwash in the bathroom. I've been going here four years and have only had good experiences. You don't feel like a number - it's like a small town dentist office but with the expertise of an urban one. I just got my wisdom teeth taken out by the new dentist there (Reynaud). Apparently my wisdom teeth were screwing up my bite. Since they would have to come out eventually I decided to do it now. The experience was perfectly fine - not the one I was avoiding all these years, and my insurance covered so much of it that it was pretty inexpensive. Dr. Reynaud adjusted my bite after the pesky wisdom teeth were out of the way and I can't believe how much of an improvement it feels like! I'm glad I took the suggestion on something I didn't know was a problem that could be fixed. Also I have never had a hard sell here. They do what you want them to do, give you advice on your best dental health, and let you make the decision. Completely recommend. read more

I have been exceptionally pleased with the care provided by Dr. Falcone and his staff. To my mind a dentist is a lot like an auto mechanic in that I need one I trust because I have no way of independently verifying if their diagnosis is accurate. I found that I could trust Dr. Falcone. Only rarely did he identify any unexpected issues; even when I flagged concerns, he was perfectly happy to say no work was required if there was no underlying concern. Additionally, when I had to have more than one bit of work done, he was great about finding ways to minimize visits and save money. It's a testament to the office that I continued to be a patient for two years after having moved from Seattle to Olympia. Perhaps the best aspect of being a patient of Dr. Falcone is that his office is literally two doors down from Molly Moon Ice Cream, so after you get your pearly whites all cleaned off, you can treat yourself to some delicious tooth-destroying ice cream! read more

I have know Dennis Falcone for almost 40 years and he has been my dentist since he established his practice in Wallingford. A few years ago I needed to have my front teeth capped due to tiny fissures that had developed so he made me the most beautiful caps ever! The margins and tint are perfect, and I am proud to smile. On my last visit I had a tiny filling that needed repair, Dr. Reynaud did the procedure since Dr. Falcone was out of the office. He is also kind, gentle, professional, and sure. I've had nothing but good experiences at Wallingford Family Dentistry over the past 5 years. Dr. Lemke and the staff are all incredibly friendly and take the time to answer any questions I have during a visit, and are very thorough during a cleaning. I've never felt rushed or pressured - the staff provide options and give their best advice, but ultimately leave it up to me to decide. Dr. Lemke has been very accommodating, even going out of his way help adjust the fit of a retainer on the spot after I stopped in to pick one up. Highly recommend! read more

Wow, Yelp, you really let me down on this one. My experience with Dr. Falcone was in direct opposition to above reviews: I could not trust him and he did try to sell me everything under the sun. When I left saying I had to think about the procedures he recommended, I got a hard sell at the door by the hygenist! Let me say this: I take good care of my teeth and have been getting exams and cleanings twice yearly since I was a kid. I had a full set of x-rays and had a clean bill of health 6 months prior to my visit with Dr. Falcone. My gums are pink and healthy, I do not bleed with flossing, no pain or sensitivity. After an excruciatingly painful exam (I was actually crying - on which Dr Falcone did not comment) he informed me I needed to replace a filling, get a mouth guard, get scaling and root cleaning 3x/year, replace an old filling, get gum grafting surgery. I couldn't eat lunch after the exam because my gums hurt so badly. I am willing to do whatever I need to to be healthy, but the sheer volume of recommendations seemed suspect, and I wasn't sure after such a painful exam I trusted this office with any more work on my teeth, so I got a 2nd opinion. A dentist I trust spend 30 minutes with me, my x-rays, some educational pictures and a mirror. He showed me exactly what he looks for to decide if procedures need to be done. While I watched with a mirror he showed me how to use the tool to measure my gum pockets - all a healthy 3mm. Now this did not hurt because he stopped at first resistance. My best guess: Dr. Falcone dug that tool deep into my gums, injuring me, in order to conclude my pockets were deep enough to justify the expensive deep cleaning. My dentist showed me the x ray showing no dark area around the filling in question, how his tool could not find and "sticky' areas - he said its worth watching because its old but at this time there is no indication it requires replacing. He showed me the one area they might consider gum grafting, but said it had been stable for years. He asserted if it worsened the procedure could be done at a later time without harm - Dr. Falcone had literally threatened that without the work my teeth could fall out. I have a relative who practices dentistry in Oregon. He says a company has been teaching classes to dentists on how to increase their profits with deep cleaning. Sounds like Dr Falcone is a graduate of that seminar. Its one thing to earn money off questionable procedures, it another all together to tear up my soft tissue during an exam to justify it. My advise: Keep this guy away from your teeth. read more

I just switched here from another Seattle dentist and have had two great experiences there so far. As a new parent to a puppy, I can't leave that little guy home alone yet and Dr. Falcone's office has let me bring in him both times. While checking out my teeth, they have played with the puppy and even though I felt like I was inconveniencing them, they thanked me for bringing him in! I just went here today and had a great experience! The staff was nice, friendly and helpful, and Dr. Falcone was great! Plus I had no cavities! This place is good for students too. With UW insurance you only have to pay a $25 co-pay with your visit for x-rays, consultation and cleaning. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a new dentist! read more

The dentist and all the healthcare providers at Wallingford family dentistry are kind and patient and supportive of me and also helped me negotiate the world of insurance. My teeth are much more healthy and I have much better oral hygiene because of their help and support. They are also very nice and interesting people. I strongly recommend them. read more

I've been a loyal patient at this practice for as long as Dr. Falcone has been there, 1994. I've never had any experience that was less than excellent. Granted, I've not needed extensive dentistry, just cleanings, checkups and the occasional filling. I would encourage others using this site as a guide to choosing their dentist to put in perspective the one bad review out of all others that are glowing. Perhaps Ms Ziadee is the problem in this formula. Her characterization of her experience is so opposed to mine, and apparently all others, that it could be untrue.
