Very quick service, though placing an order over the phone was problematic. Instead I drove in and place my order, since I figured that the wait was likely to be pretty short. The pizza itself was really yummy. The crust was toothsome without being excessive, all the ingredients tasted very fresh and it held up well as leftovers the next day. Whenever I order from Green Lantern Pizza the food and atmosphere is always the best in town for a pizza restaurant. Every time I go here I always get a lot of their ranch sauces that they make in house daily and use real buttermilk to make it and they also use the freshest ingredients and top notch ingredients on all of their food. The service here is amazing and everyone is always willing to go out of their way to help serve you in any way they can. Definitely my favorite pizza place to go to in Rochester Hills. Green Lantern has a solid reputation for their pizza here in Detroit. I loved the original location in Madison Heights, and when we moved back here I was pleasantly surprised that we live about 1/2 mile from one of their newer locations. We ordered take-out from the Walton location and enjoyed the regular deep dish / square pizza. We also tried the gluten free option and were pretty disappointed. If you love regular pizza, definitely try Green Lantern (and get the square). If you are looking for a gluten free option, I would recommend trying Buddy's instead. The Green Lantern GF crust was very hard and was dry and flavorless. Buddy's GF crust is amazing (and actually doughy). The rest of our experience was great. Good delivery response times, and our order was correct. The pricing was a little more than we expected, but still very good pizza. read more

I learned about them a few years ago ; I was surprised to hear they have been in business since 1955. The Greek salad is as advertised and good. The large pizza I ordered was well-done w Jalapeños on half. It was tasty. Shared with family members who are vegetarian / vegan, so I didn't get to try their traditional meat toppings ( pepperoni , Italian sausage , bacon , ham , grilled chicken , etc ). They did put nice jalapeño slices on the pizza though. I would assume their protein is to similar standard. The dough is great too ; It doesn't taste like Domino's , Hungry Howies , etc. You can tell it apart in a good way. The garlic butter dipping sauce they offer is made in house. Very inconsistent food. Delivery people always seem nice. We have in the past ordered a couple times each month. Some nights the pizza is great. Other nights it's just meh. They often forget side of ranch dressing with delivery orders. Tonight's pizza was awful. We literally threw half of it away. And we normally eat leftovers. Just placed an order...literally. I am waiting for my pie. So far, here is what I found out.... I inquired what an Octopie is. Girl on the phone said she could not explain it, but it has 8 corners. Okay, I get it. It's like Buddy's, right? I will find out. Interestingly, in addition to the Octopie, they have square pies, too. You can order a deep dish, but only in the round shape. They do not have fresh basil, which is a real bummer. All pizza places should have fresh basil. They do not have flavored crust, either. (*Update - This location contacted me after I posted my review. Apparently, they do indeed have a garlic butter crust option. The clerk who didn't know how to describe an Octopie was the one who told me they didn't have favored crust.*) What else, what else...Well, you have to register if you want to order online. What a drag. I ended up just calling to place my order. (*Another update - They also indicated that you can order as a guest without registering. I doubled checked the site and it appears to be a little different (and less confusing) from the day I tried to order. You can indeed order as a guest.*) This location is take out only. Both pies were decent. The sauce on the deep dish round reminded me of G's. The round was really cheesy. Uber cheesy. The cheese had a muted yet salty taste. The crust was thick and fluffy, but just seemed to lack something. The Octopie was indeed similar to a Buddy's. Similar, but not quite. The crust was more dense than the round pie. It was chewy and crunchy at the same time. This sauce seemed to have a hint to oregano. Green Lantern is better than average. Yet, just better than average. At the end of the day, if I am going to splurge on pizza, I'm heading to Buddy's or G's. Speaking of G's, and this is a side note, a couple of years ago they had square pizza that was better than Buddy's. G's, if you are listening (and I don't know why you would since this is a Green Lantern review), please bring this back square pies! read more

But I have to give this Green Lantern pizza in Rochester one of the highest 5 stars. You can tell they make everything fresh. The cheese, pepperoni is by far the best flavor I have ever had.
