Our neighbor hired Green Leaf Tree service to remove trees. While doing so a limb fell and broke the trunk of our PNW Dogwood Tree. Then, the employees pulled the rest of the tree out of the ground and disposed of it. We asked the owner for a small replacement tree. The owner denied on the phone that his employees damaged the tree. The owner will not replace the tree. read more

I requested a quote for removing a multi-trunk 40 foot tree that was starting to overhang my roof. I got a reasonable quote and he came out with his truck with a cherry picker arm. He set up, and removed the trees quickly and efficiently. They chipped all the small stuff and hauled the bigger, swept and blew everything clean. They were great. read more

To be fair, we have contacted this company before about this incident and we were pleased with their work. Dustin is responsive. Last year, we contracted Dustin from Green Leaf, to cut some trees, grind stumps, and haul away wood. We later discovered that the stumps in both the front and back yards were not properly ground. When we contacted Dustin about this, Dustin initially quoted an additional $400 plus tax for removal. Upon showing Dustin our original receipt, he acknowledged that the stumps should have been ground deeper and agreed to return to take care of them, stating that he would come by the next day. Dustin also requested a review at that time, and I informed him that I would be happy to provide one after the work was completed. Upon arrival, Dustin mentioned having to let go of the previous grinding crew due to poor performance. While assessing the front stump, Dustin noticed roots. Dustin then asked us if we wanted the stumps removed for an additional $250. We clearly stated "no" to this offer. Dustin proceeded to grind the stump near our next door neighbor's house that was not part of our original agreement. After grinding this stump, Dustin left a significant amount of mulch on both our property and our next door neighbor's property. Despite our refusal, while we were in the backyard, Dustin then moved to grind the roots by the gate in the front. After that Dustin began grinding the stump by our back fence. During this process, Dustin's machine damaged our fence, and again, left a considerable amount of mulch. After we realized the damage to our fence, Dustin was observed moving to the stump by our other neighbor's house, grinding it, and leaving large holes and a significant mess on the ground, as well as damaging that neighbor's front lawn with his machine. When we approached Dustin about the damaged fence and yards, asking about restitution, Dustin became belligerent. Dustin stated he was not in the business of repairing fences and that the yard was "okay," and that we shouldn't worry about it. Dustin was adamant that he would not offer restitution or compensation for the damage. As Dustin was leaving he sent me a message claiming that my spouse was upset because he had "grounded those roots" and made a mess which he refused to clean. Dustin also falsely stated that we had told him that we wanted the roots ground, when we only requested the stumps we had already paid for to be correctly addressed. confirmed via text. Dustin mentioned that he was trying to "help us out." We then called Dustin to discuss these issues. Dustin implied that my spouse was upset about the ground situation. We reiterated that Dustin had left a mess, damaged our property, damaged our neighbor's property, and created holes in our yard after we explicitly told him "no" regarding additional work. Dustin insisted my spouse had said "yes," and that his coworker heard him. We said "no" to paying $250, for any additional work. Dustin acknowledged this during the telephone conversation. Dustin also dismissed the fence damage, stating that he was "not a fence guy" and suggested we simply replace the damaged area even though he had caused the damage. Given the significant damage to our fence and our neighbor' property, along with the uncompleted and unauthorized work, we decided to provide a review detailing these events and submit pictures of the damages caused by Dustin. read more

Terrible and ongoing experience with this business. My previous review was removed, but currently my household is now dealing with civil court because of this experience. Owner Dustin had a lien that turned out to "hold no authority" dropped off at my house simply because my family chose to take our business elsewhere. There was never any work done on our property which is the sole basis for any lien. Dustin was told his services were not needed anymore a week before he asked to schedule, when he came to look at the trees, he could not give a date for when the work could be completed. When we let Dustin know that we would not be needing his services is when he began saying that there would be a 2000 cancellation fee. Furthermore, while our trees were being cut down, Dustin was circling our block and yelling out of his vehicle at the gentlemen that were working on our property. After I posted my initial review, Dustin privately messaged me on yelp saying "I would not want to be held responsible for damages related to loss of profits". All I want to do is make sure prospective customers know and understand our experience. We were able to obtain a lawyer to deal with the "lien" but now Dustin has been filing small claims and the claim was in excess of 5000 dollars. Everyone has their own experience and this has been my family's experience with this company. For my family, this experience has been far from professional and continues to drag on for no apparent reason. I needed trees trimmed, called for an estimate and they came out in 30 min. I showed them what I wanted trimmed, which included climbing large trees and removing the branches hanging over onto my property. I agreed with the estimate and they were back in 3 days. The excuses flow like water from the owner, the work done was something I could have my 12 year old do if he had the same equipment . - Excuses - Incomplete work - Poor quality (he really will argue what a straight line looks like. Here's a hint. It's STRAIGHT. Not dipping 18-24 inches in places after you cut it that short !) - Inability to follow through (set up a return spot to fix some of this. Confirmed schedule for Saturday the 23rd at 12pm. No call, no show. I text them 3 hours after scheduled arrival and got "we said 12 on Saturday, we'll be there" I then sent them screenshots of the confirmed date, reminded them it WAS SATURDAY. No response . No call on Monday offering anything at all ... not even another excuse) - Excuses (there were enough I have to add it in again. I am not kidding, it was endless) - Rude . They had blocked the street across from my house and were rude to my neighbors when asked politely if they could move their trucks to allow my neighbors to leave. - The crew they sent to my house were college age kids. Good for the kids doing the hard work, this company missed/is missing teaching the next generation of workers what customer service is . I will never blame the crew that was here, they out in the work, I just don't think they have a leader/manager to show them the ropes. The problem here is they had postponed a week so the owner could "oversee the crew to make sure it was up to his standard". Then the owner didn't show up until they were gone and my trees were hacked apart. THEN told my wife about how important another bigger job was and that's why he wasn't there. We paid over 3k, and the job that was so much more important was 5k. - I tried to get this settled before I left for vacation . We scheduled for them to come back out, and look at the (small) mess that was left and the incomplete work. I am almost certain, no one actually showed up. The next thing I know , I get a VM talking about a lien on my house and lawyers due to non payment. They take check or money order. I paid within hours after getting back from vacation. This place is a massive shit show. This review doesn't cover it all, the broken down equipment , the 5 days of branches left all over the lawn before they returned, the business not supplying their crew with water, the broken solar light ... they are supposed to have purchased a replacement, but initially told me I signed a form that allowed minor damages , here's a fun fact, I never signed a form , and the terms were never given to anyone . I did find their form in my yard though , 2 weeks after the work was done. No signature. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. Not EVER. Now I have to get another company to come out, bid the unfinished work and fix the hacked apart trees . Then I get to submit to them that cost and see if they want this to go away or if we are going to take this further. If you hate your neighbors or anyone, recommend this company. read more

Fair is fair and there are some positives, which is where I'll start. The owner, Dustin was responsive and came out the same day I reached out to provide an estimate. He also provided info that aligned with other professionals, including a friend in town who's been an arborist for about 15 years so felt good about info provided. Also, the folks who came out did a good job. That's where the good ends. The owner didn't know who I was when I reached out on the same text thread a day after the estimate and I was told I wasn't in the system. Luckily I'd taken a photo of the form and sent it. Things happen; didn't think much of it. I reached out day before the appointment because he hadn't given a time and was told he'll ask his lead when he'll be out to me... The day of the appointment, I saw a text from the evening before that his crew would arrive between 10-11 when I'd already shared I'm flexible after 11. From reviewing our panel, they showed around 9:30 and I was on a conference call. Worst of all, he'd given his crew the go-ahead to hop our locked gate to enter our property. They clearly wouldn't have been able to so they ended up taking a bolt off our gate to open it. This is a serious form of violation and extremely disrespectful. What remedy was offered? Nothing. The owner simply stated that they'll do the work and get out of there. What else were they going to do other than do the work and then leave afterwards? I'm appalled. I accepted the new bid but Eric commented that he hoped the climber would be OK with it, and that he would do as much work as he could with the agreed price. On the scheduled day, I waited and waited but no one arrived. Got in touch with Eric and was told the climber could not be reached. Got a couple estimates to take down 3 trees in the backyard and this company came in at the lowest at about $1800. We opted for the option for them to leave rounds of wood for us to chop up and store for next year. Only they did not leave rounds the pieces of wood they left were like 4 feet in length. So we had to cut the "rounds" a couple times for each piece of wood and then chop them up for usable firewood. Seemed like either inexperienced or lazy guys did the job not impressed. I have a 100 ft pine tree next to my house that was becoming a danger. Green Leaf gave a quote better than expected and was at my house within a couple days. They had a full crew that worked in sync like a well oiled machine. This tree is in the corner of my fence about 10 ft from my house with ceder trees next to it. They managed to pull down limbs 20 feet long and 1 ft diameter without touching anything. High tech equipment and expert work. I havimg them do more trees. read more
