The vibe here is upbeat and cozy and the seats are very comfortable. The restaurant is also very clean and tidy. I got a crispy chickpea wrap which was essentially a falafel wrap. The chickpea balls were well seasoned and spiced with a fantastic texture. I also loved the creamy sauce inside. I was on a one day trip to the Boston area to do a solo private concert, and while searching for a vegan and/or vegetarian place on my way to the hotel, I found this place. It was quiet and peaceful when I walked in. Only one other table was occupied. The menu is internationally inspired. We began with Gobi (cauliflower) Manchurian, a spectacular dish with a spicy complex sauce bursting with flavors. I then had the Sesame & Cilantro Rice Vermicelli Salad while my dining companions dined on the Yucca Quesadilla and the Butternut Squash Lasagne. I was in the area this past Saturday and was looking for a vegan place to grab lunch. I found this place on Yelp and immediately went to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find a pretty empty lot on a Saturday as any restaurant where I live (in the Providence area) with vegan options would be full on the weekends. There were plenty of tables to sit at and the set up was such where you had to first order and pay at the counter and then they bring the food out to your table. There was a little of a wait to place our order, but the gentleman who took our order (who I believe may have also been the owner) was very kind and apologized for the wait. We had ordered the Gobi Manchurian and a vegan version of the quesadilla (with tofu scramble). The Gobi Manchurian came out first and it exceeded expectations ! It was packed with flavor and every bite was absolutely delicious. I don't usually care too much for onions and peppers in my dishes, but even the onions and peppers were perfectly sautéed and seasoned in addition to the cauliflower. It was just perfect! 10/10!! Would 100% get it every single time I go there now! I was also pleasantly surprised by the quesadilla. You can tell the chef is the real deal here because he is able to mix all of the ingredients and flavors in the tofu scramble and in the quesadilla so well. I haven't visited Green Leaf in person yet, but I've ordered from them on UberEats several times and I really love this place. Especially the quesadillas. I've tried both the yucca quesadilla and the sweet potato quesadilla, and both are absolutely incredible. They are so stuffed with veggies that I don't think it even counts as a quesadilla anymore...maybe more like a grilled burrito? I don't know, and I don't care, it's amazing whatever it is. And there's so much food...it's easy to have leftovers for another meal. The sweet potato wedges that come as a side with some of their other dishes are also amazing. I have no idea how this place has so many stars. Are you all not familiar with good food or what?? I'm a vegetarian of 35 years and this place was not it. We went today and not a human was in sight. The decor is trippy but I didn't even care at this point because I was hoping the food would be good. Well, spoiler alert...it wasn't. The gentleman working at the register greeted us and gave us two menus. We ordered soon after. Then he disappeared for 45 minutes. I am not kidding. I was looking at their clock. We didn't get water or any update on when the food would arrive. Nothing. I thought I was on a tv show testing my patience. Then the gentleman comes back gives my husband appetizers that was not warm and walks away. Doesn't say the rest of our order is coming. Basically like I'm a ghost to him, no acknowledgement that I was even a guest. So I stare at my husband as he ate and he quickly noted it was ok. Not great. I have no idea what he did back there for 45 minutes because what he brought out eventually was not cooked that day. I wanted to leave this minute but I was so hungry and desperate so we waited another 10 minutes or so before he returned with my Buddha bowl and my husbands soggy sandwich. I had two bites and immediately knew the ingredients were old. I threw the entire plate of food away and my husband threw away 90% of his. We left. Not once did anyone check on us or even refill waters. I wish I could get this hour or more of my life back. Life and money. Absolutely horrible service and food. Never again. We have had two great takeout experiences from Green Leaf! Their takeout portions are huge, so if you aren't big eaters, I would suggest potentially splitting a meal. They are also very allergy conscious and everything is clearly labeled on the menu (e.g. gluten free, soy free, etc). So far, we've tried the Buddha Bowl, Grilled Eggplant Parm Sandwich, and the Crispy Chickpea wrap. All were delicious and the sandwiches came with sweet potato "fries". The food is really good. But I found it a bit pricey for what you get. You order at a counter. And then you pick up your food when they call you. Every thing is served in a take out box. And then you bus your own table. No water available if you don't order a beverage. And they have the nerve to have a tip jar on the counter. The food was really good. I loved my portobello panini. And my side house salad was pretty big and really fresh. My companion had the tofu Reuben. Neither of us left a drop of food in our box. Absolutely unbelievable how amazing all three dishes we shared were. We ordered the Sesame & Cilantro Rice Vermicelli Salad, the Creamy Baked Artichoke Spinach Dip & the Veggie Burrito. Well their soup is $5.25 a cup and they charge $2.99 for iced tea. Their appetizers are ten or eleven bucks each. My lunch was those $12 tacos and that $2.99 iced tea. After tax, the bill topped out over $16 and that was just too much for what I received. As a comparison, I went to 21 Oak in Manchester, CT(also vegetarian) a few weeks ago and ordered a fabulous Banh Mi for just eight bucks.
