One star simply because I was glad there was a laundry facility in the town my family was passing through. - it appeared more than half of the machines were inoperable or needed major repairs - floor was wet and MUDDY in places - clientele is SKETCHY... I've used a lot of laundromats in a lot of different cities over the last 22 years and the folks I encountered here made me severely uncomfortable, more so than any other. The man constantly yelling at his two kids caused another man to ask one of the kids, who couldn't be more than 8 years old, if her dad's bark was worse than his bite. I went and sat in the car at that point to avoid any possible altercations. - no one wore masks except me and my family, which seems dubious during a pandemic - service fee to get a laundry card (all machines take a card; you had to use the service fee ATM (usually $3) to get cash, then use the bill changer, then use another machine to get a card, which took another fee of 49 cents. Not an issue for me, but I suspect it might be for others). Again, glad it was there so we could wash clothes before heading out of civilization for the next few days, but the place needs a lot of repair and cleaning. Almost forgot to mention the website is currently inoperable, so we had to drive there to determine if it was open at all. read more

ZERO STARS !!!!! Almost all the machines are out of service. The ones supposedly working have trouble reading the plastic pay card. The change machine doesn't work. We come here each year and each year it has gotten worse. But it is the only game in town. We will plan a day trip to Coos Bay or Florence the next time we need to wash. Of course no one answers their phone or returns your call. Good luck on getting back any money left on the card. read more

I really hope the owner will read some of this and fix some of the machines. The biggest problem is many of the machines are out of order and have been for as long as I have been using this service which is over a year. The machines used to allow the second rinse, not any more. I thought it was my card and I ended up getting 2 new cards and nope, still doesn't work. Not many offer water other cold even if you select hot. If you want to use a jumbo machine, forget about it! They are both out of order and have been for several months. Half of the machine don't work and most of the ones that do should have "out of order" signs on them because they don't work properly. The good news is the gal who maintains the area keep it fairly clean and the dryers work as they should (if they aren't out of order). It's also a nice warm place to sleep if you don't have a home or are "on the road". Id assume that's not uncommon for many laundry mats. read more

The green lightning laundry mat had the power turned off, due to not paying power bill (that's what the manager told us) while a dozen customers had their laundry in the washer and dryer's. We were told it would be resolved in about 20 to 30 minutes. After an hour, I called the owner to find out what the status was and he proceeded to tell me he couldn't do anything it was out of his hands and I told him it was bad business practice to have the electricity turned off at his place of business. He said it had only been 47 minutes (in a demeaning attitude as if this problem was my fault) and then told me I could go ahead and write the bank check for $1 million and he would handover the keys and the business. I told him "Wow! I see I am talking with an a**hole". He started yelling and I hung up. He then called me back and left a message telling me that I could take my clothes out of the dryer and that if I didn't leave he would have me removed from the premises and cited for trespassing. Instead of apologizing and trying to help in anyway possible, he took his problems out on me, the customer. The manager was super kind and respectful, the owner was awful. They also would not refund my money. I am on vacation and leaving town tomorrow and had 6 loads worth of laundry to dry for 8 people and had to find another solution with no other laundry mats nearby. Wasted half a day of our vacation dealing with this issue. read more

The good: for the most part, it's clean, and being able to access machines 24 hours is great. In addition, the camera feed on the website is great for folks who, like me, prefer to avoid busy times, and who don't want to wait with their laundry the entire time. The bad: I've been in Reedsport for about 2 months, and every time I come to this laundromat, at least one additional machine is out of order (and none of the previously out-of-order machines have been fixed). At this point, the bill changer is busted, one of the two card loaders is, too, and the remaining card machine loads old cards, but does not dispense new ones. Because all machines run on these cards, this means if you're new to Reedsport and don't have a washer/dryer of your own, you'll have to drive at least 20 miles to the next nearest laundromat. In addition, the bathroom has been open ONCE in the weeks I've been here, and that was only because someone had left the door propped open. It's all well and fine to restrict use to customers, but when the card reader that's supposed to unlock the bathroom door merely tells you your card balance, it doesn't exactly help a full bladder! And I won't even mention the exorbitant prices. It's simply unfortunate that when this is the only game in town, the owners don't seem to care to do even the bare minimum to maintain it. (And don't get me started on their Coos Bay and North Bend locations, which are far worse!) read more

For those who have no washer/dryer, don't want to sponge off their friends too often, or are just visiting, this is the only game in town. Happily, it is clean (has an attendant 8am to noon & all day in the summer) and has all new machines. The out-of-town visitor may be dismayed that their quarters won't work here. A plastic card is issued, for a dollar, from a machine, into which you load money (greenbacks), then swipe in the machines. When I was here last summer, I just kept the card in my glovebox, to use on return visits. The machines do a good job, the place is clean and I am quite happy. For those who don't want to do their own, there is a drop-off service ( drop-off in am and pick-up next am). You can let the attendant do the work while you play on the dunes. They have a website, locations in two other towns, and frequent users can earn a free wash if they register their card on the website. How cool is that? read more

ZERO stars for this place in terms of customer service and just plain courtesy. I was there on vacation around September 10th. I went to the laundromat one evening. It took a while to figure out the system but a couple of other customers helped me. Before I left, I went into the restroom which requires the use of the card. I left my Kindle in there. I left the shop, realized right away I'd left the Kindle and turned around. I tried to get back into the restroom, but the lock lit up saying, Out of Service. I reloaded my card thinking it needed money, but still no luck. The only other people in the place were a guy who'd been drinking who said he'd come in to charge his phone and a woman who appeared to be with him. I tried several times to get the restroom to open, There is a big sign on the wall with a number to call if you have a "laundry emergency." I decided I had to go back to my motel. I figured if the restroom wasn't working, the Kindle might possibly be safe until morning. I called that number 3 times. Twice that night and again the next morning. It's a recording that sounds very much like the cheery ones you get when you call a movie theater and it's one number for 3 locations apparently connected to nothing. I went back to the laudromat around 7:00 the next morning. The restroom was now operational and of course no Kindle. On my way out of town later I stopped again. The attendant was there now but hadn't seen it. The attendant said the theft might appear on the surveillance camera. The bottom line is that I am still waiting for some response from this place. I don't expect to recover my device, of course, but if this is the response to a customer problem, what would happen in a big emergency? Somebody needs to be fired. read more

TRAVELERS BEWARE! If you have other options don't use this laundrymat. You will be required to purchase a card that can only be loaded with whole dollars (and you will be charged a fee for the card) but the machines take dollars and change. In other words, you will be forced to overload your card and you will not be refunded any overages. The machines are also some of the most expensive I've seen anywhere. This may not be such a bad deal for residents but for travelers who can't reuse the card it's a considerable overcharge.. On top of this, when we were there several machines were out of order, including the bill changer so we had to go to the fast food business near by to get singles to load the card. A very frustrating experience not only for us out for the other three groups of travelers just trying to do their laundry. read more

Vic L. Is far more positive than I am about this place. Yes, it is clean and I hope the washers do a good job (I'm waiting for my first load). My beef is the price to use the machines and the card method for payment. First, the card method favors repeat users, not the traveler. I had a $20 bill for $10 of washing but the change machine was "out of order" so I was forced to use their ATM to get $10, now add the $3 service charge to use the ATM. Inserting $10 into their card machine gave me a$9.51 card since I had to buy the card! Cheapest wash machine is $3.25. We chose the second to largest washer which cost $7.75 for a 22 minute wash. Cheapest dryer was $2 for 30 minutes. We chose the large dryer at $3 for 30 minutes. So now my wash has cost $11.24 plus the $3 ATM fee, so $14.24 and I have a plastic card with $.76 value (which cost me $.49 to begin with). Will I keep the card to use on future visits? Of course. Who knows when I will be back to Reedsport. Will I remember that I have a card and where I stored it ? I doubt it, I think I have a better chance to remember to do my laundry elsewhere. read more

I am done with this laundromat. The card reader on the dryer emptied my card. I only needed to use $2.00 to dry my clothes which is the cost of one 30 minute cycle. It took all the money on the card. The issue I have is that I have called 5 times, left a detailed message of what happened and left my phone number, each time. I got no response from the owner so I also contacted him on his website. Again, no response. This tells me he knows that his card system is faulty, that it takes money that isn't authorized and he doesn't care. I have read other reviews and see that this is an ongoing problem. Do not use this laundromat unless you have no problem with theft. Better Business Bureau is my next contact and then state business licensing. Terrible business. Beware! read more
